Great Western Meets Northern Soul - 7029 & GWSR - 2019

My second visit to the annual Cotswold Festival of Steam held by the Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Steam Railway saw a meeting between Western locos and Northern locos - titling the gala 'Northern Soul'. The visiting locomotives to the line was Caledonian Railway 439 Class no.419 (visiting from the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway), LNER B1 Class no.1264 (visiting from the NYMR) and returning guest exGWR King Class no.6023 'King Edward II' (visiting from the Didcot Railway Centre for the summer).
The video starts with bonus clips of GWR Castle Class no.7029 'Clun Castle' working Vintage Trains 'The Welsh Marshes Express' to Hereford. The tour is seen accelerating over the junction at Droitwich Spa and powering away from a speed restriction at Ashchurch. The video then turns to the GWSR gala and features shots taken over the Saturday and partial Sunday. It features 1264, 4270 (double heading), 6023, 7820 and 7903. This meant I was able to see a King, Castle, Hall (Modified) and Manor all in one day! Unfortunately 419 failed during running on Thursday and was bound to shunting duties at Winchcombe.

I went to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway yesterday on their normal red timetable service with the B1 & King Classes in action yesterday.
