Well Matthew, you had me at the thumbnail😃👍🏻👍🏻 They certainly had everything out of the toybox, Black Beauty, properly coloured Bulleids, freight working and that little Sentinel but that Pines Express headboard moment was the crowning glory❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it, Bob! 😊 The whole event was a great spectacle in of itself, with some excellent organisation to pull it all together. The Bulleid pairing was great to see - especially knowing how well the respective owners have collaborated over the years. The 9F on the Pines was an amazing sight. Especially at Gotherington among the pine trees.
Superb, thanks. Excellent choice of thumbnail as the footage of a 'Light' and a 'Merch' double heading is very interesting, esp. the size comparison. Indeed, I imagine that combo would have been a real rarity in BR(S) days - I don't recall seeing an example in any of my Southern Region themed albums.
The size difference isn't as obvious though, the boiler of the light Pacific is just slightly smaller, but because dome and chimney have a comparable height with those of the Merchant Navy it looks like the boilers are the same size. I guess the overall height of the Light is just a bit less, at least it does look so in the video. Clear clues for me are the tenders however, the light has a bit lower water tank at the rear, and the number of washout plugs, 5 on the Light and 6 on the Merchant. With the air smoothed versions I don't know the differences, as there were variations in the cladding in the same classes already.
Thanks very much! Had the duo been on time, I would've gotten away with it too. As it happens, with the pair running late, that was filmed with one of the horses breathing down the back of my neck!
The plan to rename P&O was dropped due to potential confusion over indentity? Well, credit to them for that. If only others would as well. *Doesn't look in the direction of Carnforth*
Dont know why but every time you go on these trains you get hordes of middle aged men clambering to stick there big heads out of the window .Gets my goat a bit . Great vid though .

What a spectacle! A great variety of beautiful locos and stock, and all brilliantly filmed. Well done all!
Outstanding videography and editing. 8 locos in steam. Wow. Clearly no shortage of motive power or coal at ToddingtonThankyou
Thanks very much!
Brilliant video. As the owner of Joyce, the Sentinel, I'm a little biased but the 1st minute is the best footage I've ever seen of her in action.
Thanks very much, Andy. Think you can excuse yourself for the bias - it was great to see "Joyce" in action!
totally brilliant trains
Superb, thanks.

@@Tom-Lahaye Somehow there's a gravitas with the MNs that the Lights don't have - something one can't put a finger on!
Stunning! Absolutely amazing! I am stunned every time at the amazing preservation collection you all have across the pond! What a beautiful railway!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video, Chris!
We certainly are very lucky over here - all owed to those who keep the preservation movement going.
Magnificent Matt
Cheers
A very nice done video Matthew, thumbs up :)
Thank you
Great footage!!
Those horses near the viaduct sure wanted attention when I was there 😂
Thanks very much!

Another beautiful video!
Thank you
Wonderful video. Might I be able to ask where the opening shot of Joyce and the view of the double-headed Bullieds was taken? Many thanks. Cameron
That's Didbrook just north of Hayles Abbey Halt. There is a path from the Halt to Didbrook.
At 2:13 where was you at to get that shot, as planning to try get videos and photos of pendennis castle this year Cotswold steam festival?
Glorious!
Cheers
I’ve been here.
Thumbs up 👍👍👍
Cheers
At 6:15 what location is that to get that kind of photo and video?

Personally, I think it's a crying shame that the opportunity wasn't taken. But each to their own.
