    So far this is by far the best video that does a good job of explaining how this pedal really works!

    Thanks for the demo, probably the most straightforward and easy to follow video I've found on the OD-200.
    It's a fantastic pedal, well worth the money, got a great 2nd hand deal on reverb 👍

    Bar none, you give the best demo's period. Looks like I'm buying this pedal, due to it's parallel, midi and the comprehensive sounds i can obtain from it.
    More importantly, it allows me to remove my 2 distortion pedal, silencer, and my boost pedal from my board.

    Boss has really stepped up their small / medium pedal game with the 200 series... some great products in the lineup. Fender similarly stepped up their game with the most recent series of pedals. There's never been a better time to be a home musician.

    Nice one dude, I’m a real fan of the 200 series, picked up the DD200 as my forever delay pedal, it’s a lifetime of sounds in there for me. Part of me does think about ditching my underused dirt pedals for this monster 🤔

    Well that was inspiring! I bought a HX Stomp because of the flexibility for my bass - parallel, etc. But I will really go into combining different distortions in parallel for guitar! Cool idea, great video!

    I wonder how many players are using an all-200 series rig. Seems like a no-brainer for a pro level gigging/touring guitarist. I have something similar in an (almost) all-One Series rig from Source Audio, a couple other pedals up front. The difference there is the SA pedals are 100& DSP. My understanding is the OD-200 is hybrid analog/digital?

    I liked it, but in a side by side comparison with the old Boss ME-5 from 1989, I still liked the real analog sounds better.

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 4 года назад +6

      This pedal's main drive is analog. It's a modular system that starts with an analog drive (there's actually more than one analog circuit, can't recall how many exactly tho), then it used digital circuitry to do the modeling. That's the reason this pedal is so awesome. The heart of the drive is analog.

    • @JaneThorson-dm3ev

      @@JeighNeitherWhich modes are analogue? I hear the analogue ones are great. I dont like the midi connectors. It does so much.

  • @RMosack

    I've read Boss use the term "hybrid" as well as "mix of analog and digital" in a bunch of ads and within multiple videos. But they never explain which parts of the pedal are analog and which parts are digital.

    • @mrbaiser4133
      @mrbaiser4133 4 года назад +1

      The input and output buffers are analog.

      Ingo Bacio interesting. Thanks!

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 4 года назад +1

      @@mrbaiser4133 It's more than that.

    • @JeighNeither
      @JeighNeither 4 года назад +1

      From what I understand it's like a modular system; it starts w/ analog drive circuitry, there are probably multiple circuit platforms, that each drive dials into accordingly, then the digital circuitry picks it up & does the modeling, editing, etc. However there are only four presets that even use straight-up modeling, so this is more of an analog pedal than digital, and you can actually hear that. The pedal operates a lot like a preamp tbh. Amazing pedal.

    After spending some time messing with this pedal I have to say, I don't see what the fuss is all about. It sounds crap and is ridiculously complicated. I'll be getting rid of mine as it's a total waste of time.
