- Mod House came up delivering create Foster mods, moved into ear pads, and now offers its very own planar magnetic headphone which they designed and built from the ground up. But is it any good...?

You have lovely and effective descriptions of sound signature. Keep it up!
ive heard really good things about these definitely on my list of eventual pickups
Great review, thanks!
Thx Sine Craft for the video, could you please tell us what adaptar box you where using to connect your two monoblocs to the tungsten?
I'm interested in case I do get the Tungsten and I'm planning on pairing it with a power amp.
I was using a very nice box built for me by Bryan from Zynsonix (www.zynsonix.com/).
If you are interested in DIY you can check out my video about building an adapter: ruclips.net/video/VYBudcv5WdA/видео.html
i got so scared at 11:28-11:54
That was ominous dude. I heard purring or something and though it was predator coming out of cloak threatening him behind the camera
Ha! Just another example of my lackluster editing, and snub-nosed dog :)
Very nice review! Do you have plans to review the Caldera Closed? I am interested in your assessment and comparison. Cheers!
I do, hopefully in the next few weeks.
Been trying to buy a tungsten for awhile , can never get one when they go up for sale
I ordered mine from the Mod House Audio's one and only authorized reseller, Mimic Audio.
outside of USA its almost impossible, price with taxes is silly, waiting time is outrageous, so yea its a hard pass even if its great headphone
@@soulfulfool, coincidentally, I was just informed today, that the custom cable for my Tungsten was sent to the USA from England, so hopefully it shouldn't be too many more months before they finally arrive here in Philippines.
FYI, the so-called "Gebo" cables are produced by Viking Weave, in Great Britain, and delivered to Mr. Dietz' workshop in America.
Brilliant review and comparisons. Thank you! One question. With these flagships at hand, do you feel one excels over the others at certain genres? I listen mostly to acoustic/alternative singer-songwriter - would Tungsten (or another) come up top in these softer, emotion-focused genres?
For reference, I currently have the He1000 V2, which you reviewed some time ago. Wondering whether the Tungsten (or brand new Heddphone 2 GT) would be a worthwhile ‘upgrade’ for these genres.
Really a taste / presentation preference call. I could see some people appreciating the crispness of the Tungsten or Susvara to pull forward nuance and detail from acoustic oriented performances while others might find it unnatural and instead dig the more fluid vibes of the Caldera or Empyrean. I personally enjoy both experiences but if I had to pick the Caldera with a powerful and detail oriented amp would be my go to.
@@johs12345 My Tungsten have yet to arrive, but I would stick with the HiFiMan for that particular genre of music.
@@SineCraftAudio, I prefer Caldera open to Susvara OG for rock music.
@SineCraftAudio I have the taboo MK IV, and am super excited to listen to my Calderas once I get my turntable setup finished in the next few weeks. I believe you have one, so would love to know what you think about the Taboo/Caldera combo. 😊
When you say softness of caldera you mean vail?
Every time I compared T to C Tungsten was always more refined clearer with better technicalities and in the same time still musical.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the contrasting point of view. I get life-like detail out of the caldera in my system that I love. The Tungsten is great too (especially considering the price in this crazy would 3 and 4k headphones) but overall less aligned to the style of presentation I prefer.
What's the best amp paring you've found for the Tungsten?
@@SineCraftAudio so my favorite is my 300B tube amp(heavily modified) followed by v280 and I can do Burson Soloist 3x, also modified emotiva basx a-100 gets the job done with its ton of power.
Nice, would love to hear the Tungsten on a 300B rig. I had the ampsandsound Agatha for a while but sadly no more.
No this is the problem with slightly underpowering the Tungsten. Even the Portable they send it with is only about 70% of its potential. Once you give Tung fully 3 Amps and 35 volts it prison Shanks Susvara in all categories and by all metrics - but that usually requires a Speaker Amp or AVR, which no one wants to do, even to try once. @sinecraftaudio mentions in his review that he had to Pin the Volume on some Amps and he noticed the lack of bass, but I also notice that the Stage and Details reveal themselves as the drivers need power levels that literally intimidate most people to move fast enough to really truly unveil them. By this review Id say he only got about 70-80% out of them ever. B/c when you get it ALL you just KNOW
11:28 - brain fart? 😃
First view, liked the review. Subbed!
Would like your opinion comparing the Tungstens to the Rad "0"'s...
Oh gosh, haven't heard those in a long while but from memory the Tungsten is going to be a lot more detailed and dynamic when properly driven.
Would you recommend buying HE6 v2 for rock/metal? I really want to experience that rumble.
I imagine that would be a pretty fun combination.

I hope my iFi Phantom is up to the task, when my "TUNG" finally arrives.
@@ReverendDr.Thomas Just plug it into your AVR Speaker Taps straight away if you feel like its sluggish or missing Bass or Soundstage. 300wpc at 8ohms makes it make Susvara sound so veiled thats its wierd to experience the Detail and Layering, the ACCURACY (Not Size) of the Soundstage... its so crazy.
EDIT: this can be a cheap Amp, the power it needs is just insane - as are the improvements.
@@ReverendDr.Thomas to be fair reverend, that ifi could have 30mw for all you know. Diablo eternal.
@@En_Joshi-Godrez, yes, I am sure it has at least thirty milliwatts of power. 😬
@@ReverendDr.Thomas woh hold on, maybe that's only for 0.00001ms. That's a lot for ifi.
