The iPhone 4 style was my favorite by far. I had the 4S and loved it after apple moved to the all metal backs I stopped buying iPhones and moved on to android for a time, I got the note 9 as it was glass on the front and rear with metal edge just as the 4S. Then apple released the SE 2020 with metal and glass with the classic home button I picked one up in the first week and have been using it everyday. This video was just right.
I was using a 6s plus until recently, legit still does the job after years of newer iPhone models being released. It’s insane how reliable iPhones are compared to other phones.
Still using my 6s, not a problem in six years and a few months since launch. Of course the glass was broken a few times, and the battery is now at 70% of usability, but don’t have any plans to buy another. Hoping IOS 15.7 give him at least two more years of use before apps start shutting down. So if everything goes well, i should buy Iphone 16. 😅
iPhone six is considered old?!?! I didn’t know that. Im an artist and have been drawing and animating on my 6s for months. A year before I was using my iPhone 5 but the phone screen cracked
@Emoralis Chief I’ve had pretty much every iPhone since the 3G a phone is a phone, when your phones advertised as water resistant yet an ear piece speaker getting damaged can boot loop a phone then it’s unreliable. If a phones glass is so strong yet the actual panel can seperate from the phone easily the build quality’s a problem. If your home buttons start spinning over miner repetition that’s a problem. If your battery’s degrade because apple either doesn’t implement a current limit or battery’s just really degrade as quickly as they do, that’s a problem. If software updates make a phone unbearably slow that’s an issue as well. I dual wielded android and iPhone for a couple years, liked both, but iPhone is not reliable just because it’s brand, I actually wouldn’t classify it as reliable at all, it seems every new iPhone is the equivalent of buying the first model year of any new generation car/truck.

I used an iPhone 4 as my daily driver for _many_ years (up until last weekend, actually); I had it on iOS 7.1.2, jailbroken (yes it was slow but it worked). I had Twitter, Minecraft, Instagram, RUclips, Discord all working, my music library synced, all of my e-mail accounts loaded, iMessage working, etc. The battery somehow lasted over multiple days (2 days with normal use, sometimes 4-5 when I barely turned it on (in standby)), so even for a 12 year old phone, it worked well for me. I upgraded to an iPhone 12 mini which I updated to iOS 16 this morning. It's insanely fast, has a much better camera, better screen (not such a fan of how big the phone is though), and like a million other features that take a bit of getting used to but are generally nice QoL improvements. I never upgraded from my 4 as it did all that I needed it to, and having an up-to-date phone wasn't my biggest concern exactly. I'm still getting used to my 12 and it's quirks from a nine-versions-newer OS and the lack of my beloved jailbreak tweaks and personalisation, but I like it. The battery on the 12 mini when new is roughly equivalent to my 4 when it was around the age of 10 years old, but I'll let that pass given all the extra computationally-demanding stuff newer phones do these days. The iPhone 4 served me well for the 12 years I had it. Hopefully I can drag this 12 mini through the next decade as well, lol. :P

I am mostly not too bothered what phone I have as long as it has plenty of onboard storage and will receive updates for a good while! As excited as I am to get an iPhone 14 Pro soon, I am mainly getting it because it has 1TB onboard storage and it will be the last iPhone to have a Lightning port and a physical SIM slot. I may sound a bit cheap for having got my iPhone 5 back in the day shortly after the 5S and 5C came out but I was still stuck with a 3GS, I needed a phone I could use iOS 7 on and money was a bit tight. Man! What Nostalgia trip this gave me I remember when they announced this I was trippin hard to get myself one of these and the 6 and 6s came out now that was a game changer.
This old iOS and macOS interface design was so beautiful, lively and original, as in your video. Some icons on iPhone were like candies. Not to mention previous Windows versions before Windows 10. Sick of seeing this plain stupid, cheap looking, soulless flat design trend absolutely everywhere. Fortunately, trends are cyclical.
I keep an ipod 4th gen as my dedicated music player in my car always hooked up to bluetooth. Whenever it's too cold or too hot, i'll keep it on me and occasionally bring it out and have everyone around me go on a nostalgia trip but also simultaneously chastise me for using an ipod.
I love how the new iPhones have gone back to that blocky style. iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 were my favorite designs out of all of them, and the 12 brought that back which I'm sure gave a ton of older Apple users nostalgia. I dont much like most of what Apple does in terms of data and stuff like that, but my phone right now is an iPhone 6s and I love it. Apple knows how to please their audience, which is why they're still one of the biggest phone companies out there.

SMS and calls. That's all you need for a phone. All those social media apps and mobile games are the main reason why you are distracted. That's why I pulled out my old iPhone 4 again. Had to downgrade it though since iOS 7 is an eyesore for me :P
Use still today the iPhone 4S running on iOS 6.1.3. Years ago was updated to 8 which was terrible. I remember 6.1.2 and 7 where the best running iOS for iPhone 4S. Luckily was there an iPad issue and Apple made it possible to downgrade to 6.1.3. Since the downgrade isn’t not changed anymore. The old iPhone 4S browsers software is too old but the most essential works. As the video explained muziek etc. Important, it happened that the mails can’t be read properly on the newer iPhones. The mail structure is on newer iPhones sometimes confused. To avoid the confusion I take a look into the old iOS 6.1.3 and what for example iOS 16 made it difficult, the old iOS 6.1.3 correct this by reading very clear. Every mail is separated from each other which made it easier. Use also the phone for tethering. All other digital sources are running on the old iOS 6 tweak Tetherme as well slow on 3G. I’m not so technically but I think 3G has lower data use then 4G? So I’m not sure but I prefer to keep going with the old jailbreak tweak. Today very happy that the iPhone 4S is still running. Again, where the new iPhones where limited the 4S will mostly be able to helping out.
Had one of these loved it kept it for years just as a alarm clock. Then went to se1 and then 13 mini…the 4 has a problem not shown here because he has what looks like no sim installed. The problem is 3g shuts down at the end of the year…so no hope of calling or placing calls after that.
I understand you. I use Iphone SE 2016 today, I only changed battery and fixed broken display and hope one year will be ok. It is small, fast and just perfect not like these new tablets instead of phones.

Up until last month I used an SE from 2016, and it is still a perfectly capable phone. I switched to 13 mini, but it's just not the one. It's big, and heavy. I wish Apple would make a phone into the house of the SE without the upper chin and home button, and latest specs.
My first smartphone was a hand-me-down iPhone 4, which I jailbroke on iOS 7 in 2014. I now use a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (because I switched to Android in 2017), and I'm looking forward to getting a Galaxy Z Fold phone eventually.
can you actually make a video tutorial for the untethered downgrade for iphone4? i have tried multiple methods but nothing works for me. I would really appreciate that, and im sure others would too!
The iphone 5 was the best looking phone EVER designed. I still have one, and cant ever go without one. The 4 in my opinion doesnt look anywhere as good
I’d imagine the issue trying to make an old phone usable isn’t necessarily the software or lack of support, its the fact that Edge and 3g cell signals that these phones used no longer exist.
it kinda blows my mind that people still havent figured out away install a custom os to older iphones, simalar to how linux could be a nice way to give older computers a new life, instead of throwing them into land fills..
I wish they still made smaller full featured phones like this. The iPhone 13 Mini had a lot of degraded performance and degraded cameras so I went for the 13 Pro, but otherwise I honestly would have gone for the smaller model if it had all the same performance and power as the bigger models..

I remember owning a white 4S and I loved the all-white of it. I miss it after seeing this video, and a great device to still use.
please make more of these videos! I'd love to have the perfect iOS version for every device
The iPhone 4S was my first phone ever (got it in 2013, time flies!) and it’s still my favorite phone. Its size was perfect for my hands and pockets. When the iPhone 13 mini came out I was ecstatic until I found it that it was still much bigger than the iPhone 4 and 5 models. I wish 3G was still around so I could use that old device :,(.
Please make a tutorial for downgrading I’ve been crying for a well done one for the longest plssss😩🙏🏼 love your vids keep up the great work!
Switched to Iphone SE 2016 as my daily and only device this summer. Feels cool after so many years with android phones. I also like that i can use it completely with one hand!
That’s great! I use both the SE 2016 an SE 2020, just switch out the SIM card. I love the smaller size of the original SE
I was looking for cables in an drawer where old cables go to die and found my iPhone 4 in its box. Busy charging it now and will jailbreak it as soon as it is charged. I forgot how cool the phone is. Going to love putting it to use again (probably mostly for music but that is still awesome! Thanks for the video.
This was first iPhone ever.. 2012 was when I got it..felt like the hottest kid on the block with this on me 😂
Hello sir, I m also using same model iPhone 4 n planning to buy Apple Watch ultra ….. do it support n work properly or not….. plz suggest
I still use this phone for listening to my fav music and ngl this phone have better dac output compare to modern phone nowdays
this is really helpful for my grandparents old iphone 4 they have that i found and is now charging, ready to be used for this video
Can u make a tutorial on how to downgrade one to iOS 4?
It’s complicated, you need a macbook and use a program called cherryflowerjb to downgrade it back to iOS 4
use legacy iOS kit
Use coolbooter
The last iPhone that Steve touched, it was so beautiful, no notch, no camera bump, only elegance
Holy childhood……. Even just seeing those apps was a massive throwback of memories I completely forgot about!
I Still have a 4s stored, recently found it in a drawer, and to this day and still works perfectly
imagine buying this for your child, jailbreaking it, downloading youtube and whatsapp, and it works
I just love this man’s setup
Kindly make a video about opening the country code/ carrier code. For example, if we have bought it from USA and then move to any other country like India/Pakistan/Bangladesh then how to make it operational for the sim cards there??
Please make a downgrade video, that would be awesome! I don't have an iPhone 4 but I would probably buy one if I could downgrade it to iOS 4. Awesome video man!
You can find plenty of them on eBay for less than $20.
@@GreggyMcfly yup I know. Just haven't bothered with it yet.
You can always buy one with newer software, jailbreak it and install older iOS with dualboot :)
Another cringe profile picture
Man! What Nostalgia trip this gave me I remember when they announced this I was trippin hard to get myself one of these and the 6 and 6s came out now that was a game changer.
I would love a jailbreak downgrade tutorial on the 4. I've got a couple of them sitting around.
me too
Can i buy it? I wish to have one
Fortunately, trends are cyclical.
i still have the talking cat to this day, it was the reason i wanted a touch screen phone years ago when someone showed it to me !
I still have an iPhone 4 but it’s on iOS 7 and jailbroken and I was unaware I could downgrade. This is fantastic news! I also have a 3GS.
You should definitely make a video about the PS Vita, such a cool device!
I’d love to make one haha
My very first iPhone. 😎 Purchased it in August of 2010, for about $300. AT&T.
Thanks!!
I have my iPhone 4s running iOS 9 and everything works grate even the AppStore and modern day apps
I recently replaced my iPhone 4 battery after a year of it being dead, this video really helps me see the potential of the iPhone!
My favourite phone ever, when this came out I had to have it. Stainless steel and glass with an aluminium element vapor case.
I still use my iPhone SE (2016). Had it for 6 years now, going to get the battery replaced soon.
Thank you I agree the iphone 4 is still feels great & I'll bust it out to start it up again
Yeah, But Surely, Controversial Statement, They haven’t added The Notches Yet, You Might Be Saying “But They Removed The Notch Because, No Notch Equals Bigger Screen Or Size” But Honestly, I Don’t Care About The Sizes, Enlarging The Screen To The Point It’s As Large As A Clock? Yeah Not so iPhone-ish Move Right There, IF Ya Wanna Bigger Device Then Use A Damn iPad To Play Extreme Games, And iPhones For Minigames Like Angry Birds, Jetpack Joyride ETC. And Phones Were Mean’t To Be Small, Or Average Medium Size, Not Too Dang Big.
I have an iPhone 4 on iOS 7.1.2 and it seems to work perfectly. I have even found some games for it too.
I’m sure there are tweaks that allow legacy social media apps to work properly with the old layout. If you could find them that would be so cool.
I'm pretty sure Facebook would still work in a web browser. Facebook still works on Mac OS 9, I'd be shocked if it didn't work on iPhone 4.
Iphone 4 design is the GOAT
Some important Apps in iPhone won’t work unless you update the app the problem is the newer the iOS the slower the phone becomes (lag) apple does that to force you to buy their ne’er phones
I recently saw a guy using a 4 or4s it was wild to see someone still using it
SMS and calls. That's all you need for a phone. All those social media apps and mobile games are the main reason why you are distracted. That's why I pulled out my old iPhone 4 again. Had to downgrade it though since iOS 7 is an eyesore for me :P
Any alternative for AppSync? I downgraded the phone to iOS 6.
I use my iPhone 4 to play my old, nostalgic games. Since Apple removed the ability to download old games in iOS 11, and my iPhone 4 is on iOS 7, I can play my old games on the phone.
Asphalt 5 is a amazing game for old iPhones and iPod touches and it can even be played on a iPod touch 2nd generation at 30-60 fps
I felt unwell when I lost in minutes inside the office just after miko lost his my iphone4. I checked it with security officers but disappeared in 2012. One of the best pioneer edgy brand of an iphone. Handy, Small, pocket friendly, and the best battery life. Hoping to have one again soon.😀
Video nicely made! I enjoyed every step explained and how informative it was! 😊
How to download I phone6 unsupported apps ? Like a RUclips , Instagram social media apps?
I still got an old iPhone 4, build quality is superb
I loved my iphone 4 it was jailbroken running like a champ. Thanks for the memories.
Steve is proud
Right now put the speaker deep inside the phone to make the tunel dip hence shot gun fx
Please do a video on downgrading the iPhone 4 to iOS 4!! That would be amazing to do since I still have an iPhone 4 on iOS 7.1.2
I first got my iphone 4 since 2011, haven’t upgrade until I saw iphone 13 mini
Same but iPhone 4s
Its 2022 and I'm still using iphone 5s, i replaced the battery recently and it works really fine🙂soo nostalgic
Nice I found one running iOS 4 2 days ago
Sick mate. I run this along side a Samsung note and it is the best hands down.
can you make one for iphone 4s as well please because the og tutorial to put it down to ios 6 doesnt work anymore
My favorite iPhone besides the 4S. If it what is practical to use one of these days I would.
I miss this size of phone. I hope apple re-releases some mini iphone soon
please make a video on the ipad 3 as well, really beautiful device with a screen better than a lot of newer android tablets
The iphone 5 was the best looking phone EVER designed. I still have one, and cant ever go without one. The 4 in my opinion doesnt look anywhere as good
How did you get Guitar Hero working on your device? All the IPAs online I have tried crash on loading.
I’d imagine the issue trying to make an old phone usable isn’t necessarily the software or lack of support, its the fact that Edge and 3g cell signals that these phones used no longer exist.
All working in UK & most of Europe, even 2g networks still work
oh man, this is the best looking good iphone ever (proud i have one)
You deserve way more subs man, great content :D
The 4s was probably my favorite iPhone ever
If only they could update specs on iPhone 4. The Black version is the most classic look on a phone ever built
can you do a video about downgrading iphone 4 from ios 7 to ios 6?
it kinda blows my mind that people still havent figured out away install a custom os to older iphones, simalar to how linux could be a nice way to give older computers a new life, instead of throwing them into land fills..
I have another use for old apple computers, one of them is making them a windows machine and using it for school.
The only iPhone i had was the 4S.
It was so cool, even siri.
I switched to android since it was cheaper.
God i might buy it again.
Yes do a video of jailbreaking and installing ios4
I wish they still made smaller full featured phones like this. The iPhone 13 Mini had a lot of degraded performance and degraded cameras so I went for the 13 Pro, but otherwise I honestly would have gone for the smaller model if it had all the same performance and power as the bigger models..
hello please make the guide!! been looking for a proper guide for a while now.
Underrated channel
I have a second pre pay Sim in mine taking iMessage on the go with this so cool
2 lovely designs ... Apple 4 / 5 and SE probably the best in the line up ...
