Corporations get huge tax breaks, literally paying NO TAXES, placing the burden to carry the country on the middle class, which by the way is all but disappeared. Tax dollars are wasted by all three levels of government. In Toronto, Olivia Chow (NDP) wants to spend over 8 million dollars to rename Dundas St, because a few idiots are triggered when they see the name. Those idiots need to get therapy, which by the way, was once paid for through our Health Care System. That money can bet better spent elsewhere, where it is needed. It amazes me how ignorant and uneducated people are in Canada. They have their heads in the sand. Today, most people will spend 10 to 15 yrs to pay off their Student Loans. Should someone want to leave their house to their child when they die, that child will have to pay Capital Gain Tax at 22% of the property value today. It's impossible to get ahead in Canada, or at least not in way one once could. Thank you for this. As an American who has moved to Canada your video is spot on. Job security? You mean working for Tim Hortons for 15 CAD/h? There are hardly any good jobs around here (Nova Scotia). You have to be self employed or have your own business and both come with its own challenges and there is certainly no job security in it. Teachers are probably an exception and they are doing extremely well here (I dont think there is any other job that pays so much money for the time working and it is indeed a safe job and excellent pension and union).
I spent my 21st birthday in Canada, I had many friends from Canada in Oregon and I’ve always loved Canadian film and music icons before i knew they were even from the great country. Canada is just, better. You know.
I'm an American but would rather live in the United States. Because Taxes in Canada are way Higher, the Healthcare system gets really packed. It gets very cold there in the Winter, while here in the U.S., we have very Warm climates, like California, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas. They have nice Deserts and Beaches, and Tropical Climate.
Thank you for your informative and inspiring videos. I'm a 65-year-old single dad of 4 kids from the Philippines and even if I have relatives in the US, I still dream to migrate to Canada for the sake of my children's safety and brighter future. Yes, I want to spend the rest of my earthly years in the "glorious and free" Canada, Inshallah or if God wills it.
I agree. In Canada you can look like any race but you still feel like you belong here. In the US if you are not like 3 generations in and if you are not Western European in origin then you feel like an outsider no matter how many years go by
A Canadian lawyer who led his career in NewYork came back to Montreal to care for his aging parents. He told me that for his career, New York was better, but for retirement, Canada was better. Another person, American lady immigrated to Canada because she couldn’t afford the medication which she needed to stay alive and well. My neighbor’s son moved to the states at age 37. He worked in California, then moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he bought a house. Weather and career opportunities were his two reasons for moving out of Canada. I don’t know if he will stay there permanently considering the unbearable heat waves hitting this part of the country.
So unsurprisingly these people will work in the US for the big salaries, but come running back to Canada to leech onto its free healthcare when they haven't paid their fair share of taxes, as well as retire here to take advantage of better pensions. Typical lawyers.
Moving for their romantic partner is one of the biggest reasons it happens. An American ends up in a relationship with a Canadian and it ultimately results in the American moving to Canada. This is a common reason in both directions (Canadians moving to America for their partner and vice versa).
What the video didn't mention: Cost of houses and rent are greater in Canada, as is gas and diesel and most food. There are not as many high paying jobs vs the US. Taxes are higher. In most of Canada the winter is cold and lengthy.
Left Canada due to the heavy racism , no Protocol nor due process in the Cannuck justice system. Baseless fabricated allegations in Canada by gossip are deemed fact. Utterly cheap and globally inept atheist society. Agenda laden people. Disgusting freezing weather to match the people and the utterly greedy corrupt, non transparent monopolies. Suffering in Canada the worst of any country lived in! Good riddance. Grudge holding system and people! Horrible. Oppression is non stop for decades even when gone! Control laden dictatorship
Same! We’ve been interested in moving out of the US for years. Political climate and horrible healthcare were tops but now we have two girls and I can’t ever see myself sending my children to any public school in any part of the country. The education system has been a joke even when I was a kid but now it’s absolutely dangerous and backwards. There’s just way too many pros to leaving than to staying. We’d love to visit and consider Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Europe in general, even New Zealand but Canada seems more realistic but definitely want more real accounts of American emigrants.
I thought about moving to Canada need to get approval from my fiancé and see if it is something I can do the only issue is I have no college experience but do have teller at a bank experience

So good to hear that you are helping US to find a job. But I have a question for you: can you help a skilled software developer, born and raised in Canada. Graduated a year ago from Canadian university but for ever a year cannot find a job, because of experience. Something that all immigrants have to consider.

So.... I'm in the Midwest and it seems like the weather in Windsor would be kind of similar. I'm an American Truck driver and wonder if a move to Canada would be realistic.
Windsor, though not a large city,is practically the warmest city in Ontario and located adjacent to Detroit , USA. Though the real estate price was skyrocketed recently , it is still comparatively affordable among the cities in South Ontario
Housing is more expensive in some parts of Canada. Ontario is notorious for having some of the highest real-estate prices in North America. But if you take the greater Toronto-Hamilton area out of the equation prices drop significantly. Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Atlantic Provinces have relatively inexpensive real-estate prices.
There's probably a lag on how US election cycles affect immigration, since one doesn't just up and move to Canada one day, it can take years to line up the pieces. My wife and I do consider the possibility of political violence in our calculation to move to Canada, at least as much as any frustration with policy or political deadlock. One thing I was surprised to see not make the list was climate anxiety. Maybe people just don't understand how bad it's going to get, but Canada is poised to be a great place to ride out a hotter planet, for ourselves but particularly for our newborn daughter.
While I am sure that your facts are not incorrect. Your conclusion is. It takes 3 years to become a permanent citizen. Which means the people receiving Permanent Residency. Migrated to Canada during the previous administration. So people receiving permanent residency in first 16 months of Biden administration. Migrated to Canada during Trump Administration.

I know your video is a year old but Quebec this past year made it compulsory to be fluent in French to attend universities in Quebec. As stupid blunder based on Quebec’s draconian language policies. 100%. For my wife’s health issues, we go to India each year for treatments. Healthcare here is so bad that last year there was not a single medicine available for kids for whole 8 months. We had get the medicines couriered from India or cross the border and get those from Buffalo.
A) just dug up a little, your number seems to be flawed, B) still, almost all the top-notch successful people have moved to the USA be it businessmen, investors, fashion, music, movie, sports celebrities or top surgeons, engineers, astronauts. So, what exactly are you talking about? Lol
@@rohanutep81 agreed! It’s not mostly but for sure almost all the successful people move to the USA. For smarter people Canada is a part of journey and not the destination.
@@raihanabbasi3535 Well at least for people who think they are smarter...but if things go south for you, you'll probably go north if you can because of the softer landing. Medical bankruptcies are virtually unheard of in Canada.
@@marymacdonald7810 here’s a quick one - there’s a reason why the USA has 10x more people despite being smaller in area. Crappy weather, Communist style government won’t help the most. Canadian governments can pretend to be good all the time though. Lol
I'm not overly political but I admit the political climate here in the US is wearing on me. Both sides act like bitter sports rivals that can't stand anybody across the aisle. That extends to more politically active voters. Of course I don't know what it's like in Canada though I have seen the UK parliament and how crazy it can be there
Although Canadian media does love to pick out the rare moment when Canadians behave in extremist ways. Don't believe it when you read it, those moments are rare. Most Canadians can disagree with each other politically and still enjoy a civil dinner together.
Interesting. Thanks for putting out this informative video.. Reason 1 made me fall of my chair. Last i read, some americans humorously commented that they'd move to canada if trump got elected. Never heard that for biden( and his number is higher). IMO, This could be a function of underlying seasonal factors outside of the presidential victory of Biden. Better if data is analyzed pre post victory of Biden for a shorter time frame, say month over month to validate if insight no 1 is true : More immigrants enter canada due to biden's victory. What do you think?
It could be that immigration takes a while and by the time the new president is selected the previous wave of Americans move (those who started immigration because of Trump). But we couldn't find more solid confirmation on that. If anyone finds anything, it would be an interesting read 😊
Your comparison of immigrants during Trump to Biden eras is seriously flawed. REmember, these applications take time and have you examined each one to know when they were initiated? Also, an applicant can be simply fed up and leave for fear of Trump returning to power in 2024 and leave US & A despite their favourite candidate being in power at the White House. Remember, Trump's 2024 campaign still dominates the news 4 years after he lost.
I think you are giving a skewed look when comparing Immigration numbers during Trump and Biden Administration. Since the Trump Administration. There are two major factors , which contribute to Canadian Immigration from U.S. The overturning of Roe vs Wade. And aggressive Anti 2SLGBTQIA Conservative State legislation. Both of which can be traced back to Trump Administration/ GOP far Right influence.
It also takes two years to become a Permanent resident if I am not mistaken. So since you only did 18 months. All those people would have had to have moved during the Trump administration.
it feels like there are systemic issues with the US that stretch beyond Biden or Trump. The fact that those two are the only candidates to choose from, is alarming.
If you want to move to Canada, you should really check out the taxation of your wages,,provincial tax, Goods and Services Tax, gas tax, carbon emissions tax and income tax. In the end you will probably ending up paying roughly 50 % of your earned money to taxes. I would advise you to stay away from Canada.
Reality is - all developed countries have taxation. Some choose to live in a third world country just to avoid high taxation. Nothing wrong with that, but it’s a lifestyle choice.
Healthy? Check your assertions! Cannucks have heavy obesity, extremely high addiction levels per captita, suicide, euthanasia... those aren't stats? Healthy, how? Compared to what?
It’s a well known fact that the US has the majority of 400 ponders waddling around. Canada needs to watch itself, but it still can’t hold a candle to American lardos!
Canada has a higher life expectancy, lower infant mortality, lower obesity, lower suicide rate, less gun violence (not to mention lower bankruptcies due to medical bills). The point of the video was a comparison of Canada to the USA, Im not sure why you wrote “compared to what.”
@@idethrone6809 I HATE when people from USA who move to Canada's mildest region are from USA'S very warmest region! That means you cannot appreciate how mild the winters are on Vancouver Island! Maybe you should plan a long, mid-winter visit to a large city in Northern USA. Then you'll appreciate the difference!
unfortunately, Canada is becoming more Americana with each and every decade now. For example, our conservative government has become more like the Republican party in the US. The violence and demonstrations are almost alike now. IMO, Canada is like the little brother to America. America's culture and ways of thinking are influencing Canada more all the time. We are not the kind country we used to be. I have noticed since the 2016 American election, how Canada has been so influenced by that government just in that 4 years alone
The part of mass shooting in the US is not a surprise to me because there's been some cases of children threatening their classmates and teachers with guns in the US.
The video lacks nuance. There are good and bad things about both countries. I've seen enough CBC Marketplace to know that Canada is not perfect either.
I'm coming too. I'm a Democrat. We are still concerned about how Trump is affecting our nation in HORRIBLE ways. Yes, Biden won, but will that be end of Trump? This is scary. It just goes on and on. The USA is in great danger.
As an American i cant stand it here it generallu sucks, and i live in a very boring place. Perhaps its could be because i'm super young but at the same time there is so many things thats is wrong with America 😑
Do all immigrants who move to Canada. Thanks for the 24/7 Traffic. Overcrowed grocery stores, malls, concerts or any other event. The destruction of community centres, hockey arenas, grocery stores and hospitals, just to build more condos. The elimination of any culture of community. All local pubs gone. No need for amenities that the city has to pay for like pools or arenas anymore. They keep using the excuse "aging population". What ever that means? But I think we have that covered by doubling populations in major cities.
What zoo do you live in? I cannot think of any Canadian town or city that does not have functional Arenas, community centers, City Halls and grocery stores that I can zip in and out of easily. Yes traffic may suck in some cities but that is not unique to Canada. What on earth are you going on about?
@rwilsonweir5697 All these things are true. And all have happened in Surrey. 3 grocery stores, all within the city centre are gone. Since this post is 3 months old, there is an update. The last bowling alley will be closing soon. The recreation centre with a pool and Gym are schedule to be torn down soon. We also lost a roller skating arena. The 7 story outpatient hospital is a condo tower. Instead of concerts all the time like they had in the 20th century, we have a cover band playing in a pub considered "an event" now. Maybe you think society is better in the 21st century. But from my perspective there is way less culture now. Of course they cancelled the Santa parade again. Actually Vancouver only has protest parades now. No more sea festival. Italian days is a day. When there actually is a concert, you pay $500 to see singing and dancers, but no band. I couldn't care less where the immigrants come from. They could all be Irishman each carry a million dollars. It doesn't matter. Packing more people into the country solves nothing. Why should I have to pay for housing with my tax dollars for other people. I don't like socialism. Like they say: "Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money."
@@rosssmith8481 Well that is very disappointing to hear. I actually used to live in South Surrey back in the early 90s and White Rock was delightful and while Surrey was beginning to grow it was a functional community. Sad to hear that so much has changed.
Safety is my number 1 reason. I don't want my (future) children to be murdered here in the United States. It's likely they will, statistically, so I am being proactive and researching international options before I have them.
As an immigrant in canada I completely disagree, canada is a worst place to live high taxes, less mo ey for your pocket, expensive rents and no chance to buy your own house due to super expensive housing and little to no opportunity to move up. Labor focus industry with a govt focus in making a modern age slavery lifestyle.
Now let’s see how many Canadians move to America? Oh wait, America won’t give you permanent residency. It’s not as easy as in Canada to become a permanent in America.
I'm chilling in Canada as an American who moved here in 2018. We got PR last summer citizenship n 2 years. Health care is MUCH better as it is free to low cost. Medical bankruptcy is very uncommon here. I moved here because I cannot stand tRump supporters. There are VERY FEW here even in Alberta were I live. The USA is still a great country though and I consider both Canada and the USA to be my countries.
@@sexygeek8996 I live across the street from my doctor. I can see her usually in a few days to a week. Now there is an issue with doctors in Alberta and honestly the UCP party here helped create a doctor shortage over the last 40 years. Health care in the USA is fantastic IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. I have lived in Japan before and they have a better system than the USA as well with a government single payer system.
if I come to Canada just because of jobs I want to work full time in a day and they are nice people they can understand you why are you here help you to get your goal and you describe Canada so much so Im gonna blame you Anna if canada was bad 😂
As a gay person, I moved states in the U.S. to get to a more welcoming area. I still would prefer living in Canada because the politicians seem to despise those in the LGBTQ community or they stay silent on the issue. Mass media likes to keep the issue going as if it is a two-sided debate on whether or not gay, bisexual, lesbian, or trans individuals should have any rights at all. It isn’t a question, in my opinion. I don’t really think either party truly stands up for LGBTQ people at the end of the day. Democrats seem to be quiet most of the time. Republicans openly bash the LGBTQ peoples.
That's probably true for minimum-wage jobs, but for jobs requiring a university education the pay is lower in Canada while the taxes and cost of living are higher.
@@sexygeek8996That's true! But the higher taxes and lower net compensation (of rich Canadians) buys universal healthcare, relatively safer cities, and peace of mind!
@@mathematicaleconomist4943 Yes, but if you are one of those richer Canadians then the lower pay and additional taxes would be much more than what you would pay for health insurance in the U.S. This would be the case if you were making $100K per year, which isn't even rich these days. I didn't feel any safer in Canada than in the U.S. so I'm not sure what peace of mind you're talking about. At least in the U.S. I am allowed to defend myself and my property and I don't have to wait for months to see a doctor.

Teachers are probably an exception and they are doing extremely well here (I dont think there is any other job that pays so much money for the time working and it is indeed a safe job and excellent pension and union).

I'm an American but would rather live in the United States. Because Taxes in Canada are way Higher, the Healthcare system gets really packed. It gets very cold there in the Winter, while here in the U.S., we have very Warm climates, like California, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida, and Texas.
So unsurprisingly these people will work in the US for the big salaries, but come running back to Canada to leech onto its free healthcare when they haven't paid their fair share of taxes, as well as retire here to take advantage of better pensions. Typical lawyers.
Hey girl very interesting im moving to canada soon as i finish classes next year
Moving for their romantic partner is one of the biggest reasons it happens.
I would like to hear from Americans, that moved their experience both good and bad.

Windsor and region would be a great choice ! There are many advantages to living in this overlooked and under-appreciated part of Ontario , Canada !
Windsor, though not a large city,is practically the warmest city in Ontario and located adjacent to Detroit , USA. Though the real estate price was skyrocketed recently , it is still comparatively affordable among the cities in South Ontario

Housing is more expensive in Canada/.....
💯
The most expensive real estate on the North American continent is San Francisco and NYC!

Interesting.
Thanks for putting out this informative video..
Reason 1 made me fall of my chair.
Last i read, some americans humorously commented that they'd move to canada if trump got elected. Never heard that for biden( and his number is higher).
IMO,
This could be a function of underlying seasonal factors outside of the presidential victory of Biden.
That’s exactly what we mentioned in the video.
You’re right Tom. There’s also a lagging effect to election results and immigration that stems from it
It also takes two years to become a Permanent resident if I am not mistaken. So since you only did 18 months. All those people would have had to have moved during the Trump administration.
Ru in canda?
I think people are still considering the move out of the U.S. since 2016. Even with Biden, the risk of a Trump victory in 2024 is real.
it feels like there are systemic issues with the US that stretch beyond Biden or Trump. The fact that those two are the only candidates to choose from, is alarming.
Ah yes move to Canada where inflation is at a all time high with food prices through the roof and housing is impossible to find/afford..
I feel like the comparison would ve US stats. Which are definitely worse
Compared to the US, since that’s the whole topic of the video. Hope this helps.
Love your channel. I’m born and raised Canadian but I think your channel is very interesting and would be most helpful to new immigrants.

It isn’t a question, in my opinion. I don’t really think either party truly stands up for LGBTQ people at the end of the day. Democrats seem to be quiet most of the time. Republicans openly bash the LGBTQ peoples.
