I've got a Child of Alara deck which I've thrown as many Gods into as possible, and for good measure I've also got all the Myojins in there too 😃 Just waiting for lockdown to end so that 'Destiny's Child' can get its moment in the sun! 😎
I've got a neat Child of Alara deck. Since you can control when it's trigger goes off, (you send it to the Command Zone, nothing happens; you send it to the graveyard, everything dies) you run a bunch of sacrifice and graveyard recursion. Basically, after you play the child, it almost never returns to the command zone unless it's exiled (and you run instant speed sacrifice to prevent this). You can just have child be a win con on it's own since it's a big body with trample that no one wants to kill, but tossing it a few things to work with it are nice too. Falkenwrath Aristocrat is great because it becomes Indestructible when you use it to sac Child, other generally good indestructible cards like Fleeceman Lion are nice too. Akiri, Fearless Voyager can be good with some of the indestructible equipment to save itself and other creatures. Or you can go the route of having a bunch of stuff that wants to die and tossing down something like a Fervor after Child dies to throw out a bunch of damage. It's a really interesting commander to play around with, a good skill testing one too as there are some cases when you have to decide when not to blow everything up.
@@immortalgamer3960 That's not how that works, ever since last summer it hits the graveyard anyways, you just choose if it stays there or goes to the command zone

Frequently his turn goes like this, kill the blockers with direct damage, gain a bunch of life, then swing with a bunch of buffed tokens with trample and haste. So fun.
Why was Zur the Enchanter left out? That dude gets out of hand by turn 3 or 4 if all is set up right. Once he gets to fish out Diplomatic Immunity, it's pretty tough to deal with him.
May i be so generous to add an honorable mention? Aesi, tyrant of gyre strait a 6/6 that costs 4UG but lets you play a Additional land and has landfall draw. Turn 4 you have 7 mana minimum and you're dropping 2 lands per turn which can play your ramp spells for free almost while keeping 7 mana open for bounce spells Ps you could keep that 2 mana open for counter spells
Sen Triplets is a kill on sight commander for me. I have a muldrotha deck and while agree it's absurd value engine you're right when you say she is the queen of attrition, she needs to stay in play for several turns to get that value. Sen Tripletts can potentially just remove a player by putting them into top deck mode, with you getting all the best things, so I think they should just eek over Muldrotha for the #10 slot. Atraxa, Praetor's voice should also get an honorable mention, but maybe not top 10 worthy. Great Video!
The worst part about Sen Triplets is that once you get to kill them, it's too late. Damn do I hate that card, and I love esper as a style. It just seems so...scummy
I would also include Kinnan, Bonder prodigy to the list. The second he enters the battlefield he effectively doubles the mana produced by dorks and rocks. If you're lucky they'll just add more rocks/dorks, if you're unlucky they'll start throwing CMC creatures instantly on the board
That frigging Lantern gets me every time in Standard too! And my Orvar is in my best deck so far in Kaldheim for Standard. Yeah, for sure some Enemy Number One cards.
I think Jodah is up there. Giving him one two gives him the ability to big spell tutor omniscience on the board and from there the game is in your control. Love you Jodah build, it inspired my version of the deck!
I love Golos. I use him as ramp and fixing in my Superfriends deck, but his ability often helps smooth out the deck, and can even help win the game. So flexible! Definitely kill on sight...unless there's something more pressing like a 40/40 Bioessence Hydra.
No mention of Zacama? That seems to be what happens when I play my Zacama deck, everyone saves a kill spell or two to destroy him. In their defence, if they don’t, they get destroyed.
My own kill-on-sight commanders are Mizzix (storm) and Niv-Mizzet (combo), who are usually able to win the game if you let them untap even once with your guard down.
Without a doubt, one commander that you should definitely kill on sight is K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. Somebody in my playgroup runs him and once that ball gets rolling, it's difficult to stop. There have been times where his life total was so low, I wish I had a Shock or a Lightning Bolt so I could make him rethink his life choices.
I think people are really sleeping on Eligeth, Crossroads Augur. It turns Preordain and Serum Visions into sorcery speed Ancestral Recalls, you can dump all your mana into cards with Mystic Speculation, and Ugin’s insight becomes 5 mana draw 9. Plus, partnering it with Kydele, Prophet of Kruphix lets you get absurd amounts of mana to spend on all those cards. One time, I managed to draw enough to bring a player from 40 life to 0 solely through Psychosis Crawler triggers in a single turn.
Voice of experience on Orvar... I thought it would be a silly little deck. But, with a Thing in the Ice, several cantrips, and a commander that is technically a Horror... I had nearly infinite one-sided board wipes. Kill on sight!
You forgot about Koma, Cosmos Serpent when it hit field they just spawn cards that can copy its effect to make token swarm while locking everything you can do.
Orvar completely deserves to be on this list. I just built it out if things I already have after I pulled Orvar from a box. It's absolutely dumb without optimum upgrades. I've recently bought some blue wraths for it though because the deck does play a lil slow and can be aggroed.
I think that Kaalia of the Vast would have been a pretty good addition to this list just cause sometimes the game can just end if she gets one swing off. Thoughts?
Also every Sliver Commander. I have built your Sliverdeck Mitch and played 15 games total with it (against 200+$ decks). I have won every single one of those matches and am now forbidden to play this deck ever again. But it was worth.
I feel The Gitrog Monster, Nehab the Worthy, and Hope of Ghirapur are almost kill on sight with a majority of my group, at least when I play them all for different reasons. TGM for just the value I get from it. Nehab because having no hand sucks as well as a tribal anthem effect. Hope because taking 21 turns to die from it is just insulting and has happened more than you think when I play it, the deck is tribal Thopters and is going to have quite a few goodies for it with Kaldhem.
You right about Muldrotha, she doesn't do anything nutty combo-wise but she will ALWAYS win a drawn out slug fest. Constant recursion makes muldrotha decks very resilient
Jodah is also a kill-on-sight. If he gets one hefty spell off early, he can tip the game pretty badly. Though, that isn't to say he isn't easy to deal with. Just keep knocking him out and he becomes useless.
honestly atraxa isn't that bad, its more kill that player first. everything that atraxa pairs well with is very easy to generate a lot of value very quickly. Don't focus on killing Atraxa, just attack any planeswalkers and make sure to exile the graveyard.
one of the best cards for Orvar is hidden strings, not only you can copy 2 things for 2 mana but it is a repeatable free sorcery cast especially with something like the invisible stalker .
I've always love playing Bant in constructed formats. I've spent hours and hours brewing and tweaking Chulane. I still want the deck, but I can't bring myself to do it. Just feels dirty. That's coming from someone that loves playing blue.
My Tergrid deck, is essentially focused on discard. Burglar rat, Braids, Stronghold Rats etc. In practice I basically cause my opponents to toss their hands, after which I summon Tergrid. Most times they have no more answers, or I'm comboing off Gibbering Descent. ... I'm not a good person, am I...?
Every time I pull out my Edgar Markhov deck, I know i'm going to be targeted or ganged-up-on, so I had to exchange a few of my higher CMC creatures for some cheap instants and sorceries either tying up my enemies or doing straight damage to a player. I think i play 10 instants, which is what Edgar doesn't really want, but his Eminence ability is so good while he is in the command zone, i really only bring him out to finish someone off.
I wouldn't really consider her a true kill-on-sight commander, but I'm always target number 1 when I play my Gisela, Blade of Goldknight deck. The deck is painfully slow, but as soon as Gisela hits the field, it's basically game over. I can feasibly OHKO anyone on the table with commander damage from the sheer amount of damage doubling the deck produces, but I'm unlikely to be able to do anything until mid or late game because it takes me a while to muster the mana to cast Gisela in the first place.
The trick to Korvold is making the deck fun. Food, rats and Aether Revolt artifact nonsense. My playgroup found the functionality of my mostly budget amalgamation to be pretty entertaining. I've tuned it better since, but the base of the deck is still the same.
From commander legends its Kodama of the east tree, his ability to put out permanents of an equal or lesser cmc from your hand goes infinite in so many ways and with so many ways to cheat out permanents you get a lot of value extremely quickly, as u play ghalta for 4 mana but due to his cmc being 12 you then drop ulamog the infinite gyre, very busted and is definitely a kill on site, cause our discord playgroup whenever I play my kodama and ludevic turn into archenemy.
Did you ever thoght about a format where you look on decklists that fans sent you and you tell what you think about the deck and what cards you would change ? Just came to my mind cause i have some casual decks that work good but i think it could be better i just dont know how
Any commander with Experience counters is one to still be wary of. If you kill them right away they can't grow, but if you ignore them they can go out of control.
I would heavily disagree with Jhoira, not every build is an egg build or an artifact build. I had a really fun historic build(sagas, legendaries, artifacts, and planeswalkers) build that was just about maximizing the potential without trying to combo off.
I like that I have a deck for each of these except for Birgi and Orvar. I will not build a Birgi as it doesn't interest me, but I would build a Orvar if there was a deck tech on it...
I think you should have also added the new Simic uncounterable snake that adds to the board at each upkeep and can tap opponents creature, counter activated abilities, become indestructible. It costs 7 mana, but in Simic that's a joke. I have noticed however how "surprisingly" there was no much white in this list ...
so there are two that i know of, one of which i built, that are grounds to turn the entire table against you immediately : Kaalia of the Vast and Najeela, the Blade-Blossom. surprised neither of them were mentioned here. najeela can win games on her own with her voltron potential or creating an insane swarm of tokens that will just double in size each time you attack. and Kaalia can do some rude things if you let her. and with the existence of lightning greaves, you may not ever get a chance to stop her. and a turn 3 Avacyn, Angel of Hope is pretty much game on its own. to say nothing of the Master of Cruelties that can get belted at your opponent for an instant kill if kaalia isn't blocked.
How is the K'rrik, son of Yawgmoth not in here? Paying life for spells is crazy and swing back in with liflink and gain it all back🤣 good video non the less🤙
Another new one I'd add to this list is Araumi of the dead tide, you let him unchecked for 2 turns and the game is over with 3 gray merchants or some peregrine drake madness

Each new set that comes out is so much stronger. Some of these commanders are strong with zero effort. Its nuts how much value one card gets you now.
Love that episode, but still miss the old soundtrack
I think that Kaalia of the Vast would have been a pretty good addition to this list just cause sometimes the game can just end if she gets one swing off. Thoughts?
*attack with kaalia* *summon avacyn*
I guess Golos got KOSed so hard he was yeeted right out of the format.
My Sliver Overlord is pretty much always the first commander to be taken out on sight
You are a damn hero, my group banned my Overlord deck years ago. Keep up the good fight.
I would include Jodah and Kaalia of the vast :)
Elsha usually means an infinite combo is right around the corner.
Jodah is also a kill-on-sight. If he gets one hefty spell off early, he can tip the game pretty badly.
Though, that isn't to say he isn't easy to deal with. Just keep knocking him out and he becomes useless.
and I pre-ordered Tergrid, thanks
Atraxa: *isn't included in the video*
Atraxa: Am I a joke to you?
Sadly Atraxa isn't that bad but everyone (that I've known) just makes Atraxa unblockable infects and waits a few turns
Atraxa was super overhyped. Strong but not super scary
honestly atraxa isn't that bad, its more kill that player first. everything that atraxa pairs well with is very easy to generate a lot of value very quickly. Don't focus on killing Atraxa, just attack any planeswalkers and make sure to exile the graveyard.
I’m old. I look at this commander and simply account for this lady. My answer is to steal her.
No sliver overlord or Omnath locus of rage ? :/
one of the best cards for Orvar is hidden strings, not only you can copy 2 things for 2 mana but it is a repeatable free sorcery cast especially with something like the invisible stalker .
Sadly, it can only copy one of those permanents per spell.
I still love Krenko, Mob Boss, who doesn't love an army of goblins? Plus with some other cards that is big, beefy goblins with mountainwalk
What editing software do you use?
I love how Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain took all the aggro from Jhoira of the Githu!
Now, let me suspend three eldrazi and cast my Blasphemous Act.
I've always love playing Bant in constructed formats. I've spent hours and hours brewing and tweaking Chulane. I still want the deck, but I can't bring myself to do it. Just feels dirty. That's coming from someone that loves playing blue.
im confused, where's kinnan?
From my own personal decks I play: Arcades
From my friend's decks: Yarok
My Tergrid deck, is essentially focused on discard. Burglar rat, Braids, Stronghold Rats etc. In practice I basically cause my opponents to toss their hands, after which I summon Tergrid. Most times they have no more answers, or I'm comboing off Gibbering Descent.
... I'm not a good person, am I...?
What about najeela, zur, kess, Gitrog, first sliver, tymna/thrasios, all extremely powerful and very very quick decks. Where were they?
Kinda wierd that niv-mizzet parun was not on here. Every time I try to play that deck I'm always target number one when I play him
bell squad reporting in!
Report on Orvar; turn 6: 16 basic islands, 7 Rhystic Studies, 6 Spark Double that are Orvar...
The trick to Korvold is making the deck fun. Food, rats and Aether Revolt artifact nonsense. My playgroup found the functionality of my mostly budget amalgamation to be pretty entertaining. I've tuned it better since, but the base of the deck is still the same.
Well, Meren and Kess both are insane commanders of which both of mine have went from doing nothing to winning in the same turn.
Jodah...you know there are gonna be some crazy sheet going to go down
Did you ever thoght about a format where you look on decklists that fans sent you and you tell what you think about the deck and what cards you would change ?
Just came to my mind cause i have some casual decks that work good but i think it could be better i just dont know how
Any commander with Experience counters is one to still be wary of. If you kill them right away they can't grow, but if you ignore them they can go out of control.
Everyone is sure in his deck until he see tymna and thrasios...
Neheb, the eternal, Atraxa, and Scion of Ur-Dragon are all also very much so kill on sight commanders
Awesome episode! I agree with all of them. I am surprised that you didn't list Animar. Isn't this Elemental a kill on sight as well?
How is the K'rrik, son of Yawgmoth not in here? Paying life for spells is crazy and swing back in with liflink and gain it all back🤣 good video non the less🤙
Another new one I'd add to this list is Araumi of the dead tide, you let him unchecked for 2 turns and the game is over with 3 gray merchants or some peregrine drake madness
