The floral flavor that remains after the topping burns off brings to mind blends with Rustica, like HH Rustica and Per Jensen’s Bold & Strong to me. You just can’t argue with the quality of GH’s base tobacco. Thanks for the video!
Love the majority of G&H Blend they are unique in today's world, satisfying and unique, these tobaccos have attitude'guts If I can say so,Best Greets, and thanks for sharing Your experiences,Paul (contrary to popular believe G&H tobaccos are far from being heavy Lakelands
Ah Coniston Cut Plug...one of my all time favourite tobaccos...there are two versions one of which is unscented ( allegedly)....with the unscented I don’t get too much floral but it is ever present to a greater or lesser extent. In my experience it grows on you ( the tobacco not the scent!). I always keep some to hand.
just tried the fold and stuff method for the first time, I dont think i will be rubbing out coniston cut ever again. Cooler, more flavour ive been at this bowl for about30 min and it is almost half way.
update: it took a little over an hour to smoke and in my opinion it is the best way I have smoked any type of pipe bacca. I am going to have a go at roll and stuff after dinner to see if there is any difference in the burn rate and flavour profile, my aim is to get the longest smoke from a bowl
I wouldn't call it pointless at all! Coniston is a real favorite of mine (Bosun even higher in my esteem) and whatever went missing from that pouch was easily worth watching you try it! I really do believe that the fruitiness you got was strictly the virginias (and the smokey because the virginias are dark-fired in this one), because clove and tonquin are the flavors that stand out for me. I think you would have preferred the bosun as it is simply a blend of virginias without the burley but with the same top note, it's a little more delicate and nuanced. But I love the essence! 😆
Hi Simon, have you tried the Rattray's Va blends? The ones that remind me of that presentation are Brown Clunee and Old Gowerie. Not quite as dark but worth trying if you can find them. Cheers.

My next purchase. Bosun Cut Plug my current favourite and Revor certainly seems a good investment.
Thanks for the video, Ady ☮️

Nice video and thanks for the insight, I've been looking into more plugs and flakes.
It's a blend I've wanted to try for a long time. Great review!
Very nice St. Nicholas. I have one just like that. Love to use with balsa filters. Also lovely tobacco. I´m a Lakeland fan. Congrats.
Westmorland slice is one of their Dark fire-cured Virginias introduced back in 2015 and has no lakeland aromas
This truly is a great smoke

I've kept a small slice of the Bosun to try too ;-)
Maybe I should have seen this before, but where did you find the “cigar” tamper? Love it!
Thanks for review.

Personally I love that Tobacco Simon. I have been smoking it on and off for a Year now !! But not to everyone's taste like many other Blends ....
For Virginia/Perique blends that are presented similarly, I think you should give Bayou Morning Flake a try. Great video. Take care.
