We talked to Crystal Moselle about her new documentary *The Wolfpack*, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2015. Check out VICE Films Meets George Miller: 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Director - bit.ly/1Mwtvjn
Why did it take me so long to find out about the Wolf Pack! I am in love with them and who they are and this wonderful documentary maker thank God for her!🙏❤
Crystal, is such a beautiful and wise soul. No accident that she came into their lives. She is very respectful and caring, on top of her gifted creativity. Grateful they came across her early on.
The violence this father committed is erased from the film and this interview. He beat his wife into submission, and those kids had to be beaten to obey his orders to stay inside the house unless it was with him. You can clearly see the pain in Susanne's eyes, and the fear in the kid's eye's as well. The kids must have made a deal with Crystal to keep quiet about that.
Apparently he considers the documentary to be beautiful. He's the one who I think definitely needs therapy because the others seem to be doing ok now, branching out into the world, travelling, getting jobs, they're rebuilding themselves
Did this story freak you out? Imagine how many kids are out there isolated like them. Frightening thought. This just makes me think save kids from...not the big bad world..... Save kids from their parents.
Ive lived in NYC. It is bad. The town was blown up during that time too leaving many months/yrs of trauma after the plains hit the towers . Lots of fear but the kids were taught to cook, clean up, create, be respectful. Great gig there
Shows you what the mind is truly capable of! I always love movies or really documentaries that are filmed 🎥 in movie format. The Guy made a Batman Suit out the Cereal Box!
Seeing as she was prompted for responses (and mimics her interviewees lexicon) to the more profound questions she is asked, Crystal displays a lack of eloquence that her film seems to inadvertently capture. With a film like that, wonder if lucky or genius.
+David s She said she knew them for five months or so before they invited her home. Plus, they are all obsessed with films and she's a filmmaker- I'm surprised they didn't invite her home that first day :)
No it doesn't. He didn't abuse them in any way just prevented them going out. IT's like if your mom said your grounded for a month. That isn't really abuse. Horrible, yes. Abuse, no.
Sarcastic Syringe2020 It may be considered abuse, but could you imagine how it would make the boys feel if their actions sent their father to jail/prison. They don't hate their father, they're just happy to be free.
Rylan May why don't you watch it for yourself and judge her by the quality of her film? You make a lot of assumptions in a small amount of space. "I'm sure," "sounds"
***** You're right but I feel like if these guys don't often go outside, they might be less careful about who they talk to and all the don't talk to strangers stuff.
What is with so many of you twats claiming it's fake? You sound more sheltered than these fucking kids and they were locked up for 2 decades, holy shit.

Wow. Talk about the right time, place, and good instinct with crystal.

Love Jennifer. I am so glad they met her, she just made all the difference in those boys lives. She is truly an awesome person.
I love it, beautiful and insightful interview. Gave me major anticipation shakes for the film!
I learned that talking like everything is a question might just be a learned trait and not indicate idiocy
Richard Juarez hahahaha!

What about the sisters of the Wolf Pack?
She certainly hit the jack pot..in a great life saving positive way💘❤💘the brothers are all so handsome talented intelligent young men..Gorgeous too...
They clearly need to go for a cheeky nandos with the lads
What happened to the sister? No one speaks of her?
I really liked the film. 6 years of making. wow
Interesting idea for a film, I look forward to seeing it
Crystal is beautiful... wow I'm speechless

Netflix
Does anyone else thinks the interviewer looks like a cross between Robin Wright and Melania Trump?
Seeing as she was prompted for responses (and mimics her interviewees lexicon) to the more profound questions she is asked, Crystal displays a lack of eloquence that her film seems to inadvertently capture.
With a film like that, wonder if lucky or genius.
whats up with this lighting?
Yeah its DARK!
weird how they let a "chick they just met" film all the stuff their doingO.o
+David s She said she knew them for five months or so before they invited her home. Plus, they are all obsessed with films and she's a filmmaker- I'm surprised they didn't invite her home that first day :)
they do say to her in the docu that had they met her a year before that they wouldnt have said a thing, just silence.
Doesn't this count as child abuse?
No it doesn't. He didn't abuse them in any way just prevented them going out. IT's like if your mom said your grounded for a month. That isn't really abuse. Horrible, yes. Abuse, no.
it does count as abuse or maybe irresponsibility and stupidity. 14 years not 1 month.
Sarcastic Syringe2020 It may be considered abuse, but could you imagine how it would make the boys feel if their actions sent their father to jail/prison. They don't hate their father, they're just happy to be free.
Yes it is abuse. He deprived them of their freedom to be children. He locked them like animals.
@@user-bx4ti6ig3i They were not locked like animals. That's what makes the story intriguing.
I'm sure this documentary is amazing, but man this director sounds simple.
Rylan May why don't you watch it for yourself and judge her by the quality of her film? You make a lot of assumptions in a small amount of space. "I'm sure," "sounds"
The doc is great I watched it. Just saying she's a terrible interviewee.
@Rylan May - e=mc2 is also simple my friend.
How about 'refreshingly' simple?
It's not about her...it's about the boys so focus on that!!! These boys are amazing to watch....
It's so painful trying to listen to Crystal talk.
William Boynansky
I don’t understand? Why was it painful for you to listen to her?
Dads a Narcissist!!
i looked up there date of Birth Man the Dads a work hoarse like 3 children born in 1992
dornravlin there's a set of twins
so this video is a GREAT example about how people lie to you and get you to believe their bullshit ..
Crystal Moselle
This interviewer will be my wife
Go ahead and put a ring on that forever... I'm just going to hit it and quit it.
I wonder if the interviewer is always like this. The frequent wincing and the glottal.
The whole premise to this seems staged.
Like I though Cali peeps like said like all the time but like I guess like NY is also into like saying like all the time like.
Money out of politics wolfpac?
JVM
The backstory seems fake. I dont know why but it just does.
