Just like I remembered, I’m 78, so I was just a kid. I was a New Orleans Jazz fan. Joe Oliver , Johnny Dodds, and the rest of the Creole Jazz Band. This opened my closed mind to JAZZ. You have an open mind. My I live long enough to keep enjoying this vast verity of inspired music. jdnerja
Maybe somebody can help me out with this. I remember listening to a MJQ album when I was young that started with this number (but a studio recording, I think), followed by "On Green Dolphin Street". Anyone know what album it would be? Thanks in advance.
If one was to shout out and disrupt things, as certain elements in this audience did, in a Chamber music concert, one would be asked, politely, to leave.

This is in the same class as Bach at his best. Mind you, so is most of MJQ's work.

I agree but then I remember that jazz is malleable! In some ways the audience can become part of the piece.
Too bad they didn't have Bags mic-ed on this properly........
