Beautiful, Thank you. This was filmed October 13, 1963 and aired Sunday 9:00 PM. Her really loyal audience were the British. They still loved her even when she was down and the voice was not there. But even without the voice she had the heart and presence. No one has ever given to an audience as Judy Garland. She offered her talent, her heart and soul and we loved her for it. I am grateful to have lived at the time to have seen her live and meet her. No one like her before or since.
Pure magic. The way she can look at him while she sings directly to him. No one else has ever been able to do that in such a special way. My favorite version of this song by the GREAT GARLAND!
BHW722 She was trained very well in her MGM days in the art of singing to a romantic partner. She wasn’t afraid of getting close. This is lovely, Judy at the top of her game.
Once Judy sang a song that other singers performed before her, she took it and made it her own and no one could or would ever sing it better. She was brilliant.
My god what brilliance. Garland was is undoubtedly among the GREATEST story telling vocalists we'll ever see. There's nobody compares to her soulfulness of style ❤❤❤❤❤❤
In a lot of the Judy Show recordings, especially the quieter ones, you often hear people, presumably filming crew or props departments etc, dropping things.... anyone else noticed that?
I remember that day here in glasgow scotland ....i was 7 years old just returned home from playing soccer... was the main item on itv television new here in scotland 😓 a very hot sunny day
So perfectly effortless, one of America's greatest performers, her singing so powerful & uniquely nuanced... footnote: the date is incorrect... this is JUDY, some years before in great voice...
That ending wiped me absolutely out. Touched me beyond words . What a beautiful , touching , sincere giving of herself to him, to all of us if anyone asks what made. Her so special, unique one just has to watch the and there is no further explanation Bravo Judy!!!!!!!!!
In one of the biographical of Judy a story is told about Judy being at someone's house and singing for a few friends. A neighbor happened to be there. She said that the experience was unforgettable. She said that eventually Judy became uncomfortable and she was asked to leave. What a thrill though to be there for that time.
Thank you to whomever posted this glorious moment... she is just spellbinding in this clip. Her voice is vulnerable yet swells to full orchestrated powerhouse mode and draws you back to her in the end. Nothing but her and the piano as it should be. Just gorgeous!!! ❤️
Wrong on the dates. You have her performing the day she died. And I assure you she didn't perform that day. LOL This is from her show, Taped: July 23, 1963 , Aired: October 13, 1963.
This is such an amazing performance, and sung directly to Terry Thomas. How did he not just pass out? It's so special. I would have probably embarrassed myself by fainting then urinating on myself. Yes, there's a reason I haven't met Liza :-) Thanks for posting!
Watching Terry Thomas listen to her is rapturous. Sadly, they both had terrible ends.I suggest that you not view the video elsewhere on RUclips of him at 77.
Can you imagine sitting right NEXT to her while she sings this song to YOU?

@@frankiebowie6174 very organic though they trained her well, she really pulls you in voice and all
Imagine being privately sung to by the great Judy Garland: One would die and go to heaven!

Great talent
She left us tragically
IMO the definitive version of this song ... by the definitive singer.
You have to close your eyes, no distraction. Just listen to this miracle.
The way she managed her fabulous voice!! Looord ❤.. Fabulous Judy 💞...💜🌿
Terry Thomas is so intent -- he's just shattered by her.
So perfectly effortless, one of America's greatest performers, her singing so powerful & uniquely nuanced... footnote: the date is incorrect... this is JUDY, some years before in great voice...
No One Can Top That! EVER!!
In the TV show, they're chatting and he tells her he's heading back to London, would she sing "A Foggy Day" for him. Sublime!
That ending wiped me absolutely out. Touched me beyond words . What a beautiful , touching , sincere giving of herself to him, to all of us if anyone asks what made. Her so special, unique one just has to watch the and there is no further explanation Bravo Judy!!!!!!!!!
Sitting down no less-her talent was a 10.
I can’t imagine what I would have been feeling if Judy Garland sang to me! Awesome

We had what was memorable and out standing in music.
The one and only, the magic still persists. Thank you.

What a talented lady! Absolutely sublime. Just a shame that her management failed her!!
Magnificent

Jack Ntulsa Thank you! She did not perform on that date! 😂
He meant she died in London on that date and so it was a "foggy day in London town "
Glorious
Excellent performance!!
Thank you for sharing this gem. What beauty, grace, and charm.
perfect
AMAZING!!!!
She really knew how to sell a song..

She was so exquisitely feminine.
Lucky ole Terry Thomas eh :-)

Great clip. But who was that guy smoking the cigarette with Judy
Terry Thomas
Watching Terry Thomas listen to her is rapturous. Sadly, they both had terrible ends.I suggest that you not view the video elsewhere on RUclips of him at 77.
Can anyone suggest some more great old movies?
Any Judy Garland or Bette Davis
Penny serenade, the gay divorcée , Harvey girls
I think she was DEAD by June 22, 1969 WASN'T SHE ??
someone please help me find the full sheet music for this pleaseee
Just google it, A Foggy Day by Gershwin. One of the most common songs around, easy to find.
MarkRTrost is correct. This was aired in 1963. June 22, 1969 is the date of her death. :-(
She's perfect. Not 1969 however.
Love Frances Gumm 👠
Imagine having the great Judy singing to you personally!! You die and go to mecca!
thats the idea, she died in london on a foggy day in london
