  • Hey friends!
We set out last week to explore the hill country and hike Enchanted Rock! Enchanted Rock is located 17 miles north of Fredricksburg, Texas, and is the largest pink granite monolith in the United States. This was our first time visiting Enchanted Rock, and I'm sure we will definitely come visit again.
This is a must see if you happen to be in the Texas hill country, but I highly recommend checking it out when the weather is cooler. Only hike in hot weather if you have adequate supplies and are comfortable doing so. Heat exhaustion is serious and can sneak up on you fast.
What's your favorite hiking spot in Texas? Let me know in the comments below!
    As always, thanks for watching!

If you ever get the chance to hike Enchanted Rock in April or May, you’ll be amazed by the greenery, the wildflowers, and the tide pools in the rocky depressions. Very different vibe compared to summer.

I don't think they said anything about rock climbing (I wonder if it's banned now).. The back side is much steeper and back-in-the-day there were fixed tie down bolts high up on the back side. Some guys would go there at night and hook up and lean back in their climbing harness, so that you could only see the sky. As the stars came up slowly over the rock and over your head it seemed like you were flying the rock. Rock pilots were warned to always make a smooth landing.....

@@CuzBarnaJuner that sounds amazing! I bet it’s so pretty out there at night. I read that you can still free climb within the park, you just can’t place bolts.

Not at all! It was just pretty steep most of the way.
