Just got back from the Cliff Dwellings. We stayed at the same campground (Cherry Creek). That drive was crazy. Second night we stay at Grape vine just outside of the Dwellings. We were heading back to Texas and stayed City of Rocs SP just outside of Silver City. The Gila Forest was awesome.
What an awesome episode! Loved all the animation inserts made the storytelling more enjoyable 🥰 Debbie, you are definitely a natural at storytelling, can't say enough about them, just love them. Also, you make cooking so easy, bada bing bada boom muffins 😁 when I just fry an egg, I use the entire array of pots and pans, lol 🤣 sounds crazy, but true! My goal is to try and bake your famous beaujolais chocolate cake & the muffins, wish me luck! Hope they come out as delicious as yours 🥰 Wishing you both a wonderful Memorial Day weekend 🌸 safe travels, Yvonne🥰
@@FromShetoMe That's wonderful & a perfect weekend to make it. Paying my respects to your daddy and all veterans 💕 ..Thank you for sharing your cooking tips, especially the baked goods 💕 Safe travels, Yvonne 🥰
Every minute of this video was so intensely interesting - I live in a country that's green green green, so of course I find stories of the desert fascinating. Thank you for sharing!
I’m guessing you’re in Ireland or the UK which I would love to see again. Such lush landscapes. But I always love returning home to the desert landscapes (but not in the summer). 😅
@@FromShetoMe Hey wow - thanks for replying :) Actually I live in New Zealand - we have what we laughingly call a "desert" here but it's really more like altiplano/scrubland - it even gets snow ;)
@@brendangilmore4297 I love NZ! Been there twice. We have really good friends that live near Aukland. We used to be sister cities with Waitakere. But I'm guessing you live on the south island.
@@FromShetoMe Ah I love the Waitakere Ranges - there are some wild & beautiful areas all through there. I'm in Warkworth - about an hour north of Auckland :)
Thanks for the tours and adventure. Roswell is an interesting place and yes, the winds are always tough in the Midwest. From Mexico to Canada, the winds blow, the trash sticks on barbed wire, and vehicles rock and roll. Oh, I forgot tornados too! Safe travels!
I've been following your channel for several years (but never comment). My husband and I enjoyed this video because we had just traveled out west (we're from Missouri) and had camped at Cherry Creek Campground and visited Gila Cliff Dwellings, too. We missed you by probably just a few days. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and get many ideas of places we need to visit from your travels. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Greetings from Flagstaff. What a ton of content in today’s episode! Yay we are finally out traveling again. Coincidentally we saw some spectacular Permian tracks in Coconino Sandstone slabs on display in the Williams, AZ, ranger station when we stopped to get dispersed camping maps for the surrounding areas. We have done most of the places you visited several years ago. Guess we’re more into the UFO schtick than you. Bottomless lakes would be a great place to stay, but we were there in the cold shoulder season. We have not been to Silver City. We drove in to Gila Cliff Dwellings from Deming via City of Rocks (a must stop). The road in is so windy that I bought a longSleeve shirt at the monument that says “i Survived the Drive to Gila Cliff Dwellings!” Had planned to spend a couple of nights in the RV Park. But after it got down to 24° the first night and was forecast to get down to 13° the next night we bailed for Arizona. Loved the Tuba music you selected for the UFO segment. We will have to make it to Silver City another time.
@@FromShetoMe City of Rocks is worth a day trip. I hiked amongst the rocks, through the campground, even though I didn’t stay there. And there is a great hike to the top of a butte that looks down on the “City”. Looks like somewhere the Flintstones would live. Glad you made it to the Gila Cliffs. I loved that you could explore them on your own. When I was there the trail was partly covered with ice and packed snow from a storm that had come through the week before.
I wanted to thank you for sharing the Gatekeeper Museum on one of your Tahoe visits. We went last Wednesday & enjoyed not only the museum but the property it sits on, next time we’ll bring a picnic. 🇺🇸🌵❤️
The time zones through West Texas / NM seriously confused us. We came across up by I-40 this time - seemed less “long” than whatever way we came across before. I loved Roswell’s kitschy “thing” - so silly! The cliff dwellings look amazing.
We just missed you in Silver City , Gila Cliff Dwellings, and Time Zone Confusion, AZ! This was so fun to see the trip through your lens. Wish we could have joined you for a mint chip. The deli / bakery in that same square was great too. We loved (all 3) drives out of Silver City and really enjoyed our time in that area. Wonderful video - thank you!
@@FromShetoMe We’ll return. That area was the surprise highlight of our trip. A different kind of highlight was almost drowning the van at the entrance to The Catwalk. That could have been a very expensive hike🤦🏻♀️
Eastern Oklahoma is called green country. Last time we were in Silver City, our campground was next to a cemetery. There is a photographer on RUclips that lives in Silver City, Brent Hall.
Great video as always! Many years ago I took my kids to the Roswell UFO Museum. I ended up drawing a kids book featuring my kids as the characters, and our Airstream (with an alien of course 😊). They sold it in the gift shop there for many years. They haven’t ordered any for a while, so I guess it had its 15 minutes! Still on Amazon.
Make the Journey as Important as the Destination. That has long been our traveling motto and this video illustrates how rewarding that can be. Again, thanks for sharing and allowing us these glimpses into your lives..
I beg to differ on your Oklahoma comment. Eastern Oklahoma has rolling hills and mountains. The area is filled with a wide variety of trees, including Ponderosa Pine. A place to visit is the Wichita Mountains. Many lakes, big lakes are abundant. Plus many historical sites, including Civil War sites. Come visit the area and experience the multicultural area, including the Five Civilized Tribes and the various museums.
I had a lot of wind going through Texas and N.Mexico in 2022. That gas station/truck stop looks familiar, I may have stopped there as well. Did they fry that pie in chicken fat?😆 Nice journey going back home, love seeing all your stops along the way. And, do take a drive through Oklahoma, it's not all flat and like @doorsdon mentioned there's some good sites to see and visit. My mom hailed from Ok. Thanks for sharing with us today, you two take care now.
Great vid. How is your new van build coming? I have to admit, it would be sad to see you leave your pleasyreway. All the mods that you have done, seem to make it work. Happy trails!
We just got back from touring Mesa Verde and have caught the bug to see more! We’ll make a plan to go to Gila now. Thanks. (Plus you got to avoid driving on I40 for awhile-what a bumpy ride that is!)
I wish I had more info to share but I think it will be ready in July. At least our plan is to be on the east coast and ready to swoop in whenever we get the green light.
Hi I probably asked this a yr ago about your van. I didn’t see where i could private msg. Did you presell your van or such waiting on George to finish your van? Don’t know what you are asking but wondered status 🙏🙏.

Whatever happened to the new van you guys were having built?
It's coming. We're leaving soon to work our way back east. Hopefully it will be ready in July. The last mile is the longest.

Hoping July. I realized this week that waiting is exhausting.
Is there a date for your new RV reveal?
Nothing firm. Thinking July.
