No, they're not flying and it isn't done to be epic or be accurate to the manga, they're stand-leaping. That explanation leaves the ACTUAL explanation out and doesn't serve anyone.
The characters were flying because it would look really weird for them to be having full conversations mid-air like they do in the manga. The whole show follows the manga really closely which is why characters tend to stand around and talk before doing anything. Characters could say a whole lot in one panel and it does not look out of place because it’s just still images, but it does look kind of weird animated. The stand jumping would be really hard to animate and have it still make sense so DP decided to make them fly instead. IMO it makes the fight look cleaner.
There's so much you can take away from these past few episodes, but you can look back and see how good it was written. The deaths in jojo aren't overly dramatic and realistc, when a friend dies you aren't always gonna get the chance to mourn or give a proper burial, sometimes the situation is too drastic to make formal actions. Jotaro vs DIO was probably the biggest brain and brawn play of all of jojo, their use of setting, the battle stats, every character did the most they could do, and logically it made sense that DIO would be careful with Jotaro after seeing the number of tricks he made. Damn this was a good part, but we still have 2 more! And it always gets better!
They used their Stands to jump like when Jotaro did it with Iggy in the beginning. And when Dio's leg came off, you could see Jotaro landing on a store called "Books" that's where he got the magazines.
It’s not “flying”. The anime had trouble pacing it but Jotaro and Dio are actually using the strength of their stands to jump off buildings. You can see it when Jotaro punches a building to change direction. It’s also why Jotaro needs to catch himself on a building after he severed Dio’s leg. The fan base calls it “stand leap”. As for them floating while punching at the start, it’s because their punching off of each other’s punches and lifting themselves into the air. In the end it looks like flying cause pacing.
Jotaro stopping time is plot convenience? Yet it was established at the start of the fight star platinum and the world are the exact same stand. Additionally, star platinum stopping time is foreshadowed in a few fights prior to the final showdown most notably the n’doul fight.
It kinda is plot convenience, but it's stabilished much earlier in the fight, so when Jotaro stops time it shouldn't be a big surprise, but rather a logical conclusion that makes sense in hindsight.
@@blackpants7385 all stands have gimmicks, star platinum from the start was just punching shit really hard so he didnt really reveal his "power" because maybe he couldnt control it yet or stuff like that
So you've seen how Jotaro and DIO fight, compare this to Jonathan vs Dio. Dio respects jonathan and jonathan the same, they play with tactics, but Dio still looks down on him sometimes Now look at Jotaro vs DIO, DIO *REALLY* wants Jotaro dead, and same for Jotaro, but the difference here is DIO is *GENUINELY* scared of Jotaro, like Jotaro actually fucked up DIO even as a vampire.
Don't let this hella epic fight distract you from the fact that DIO thought magnets worked in stopped time. He thought KINETIC ENERGY worked in stopped time. He honestly deserved what happened to him.
2:42 that scene where the glass shatters and Dio's stand appears. Was slightly teased in the previous versions of the op. Of you check it out and stop the frame (THE WARDO!) you see a shadow and it slightly changes as the ep go until you see the final scene
Ik this was 3 years ago but as rewatching this I remembered from the manga, that this whole fight that takes place in episode 47 is only 2 minutes after Kakoyin died. And Jotaro kills Dio at the 3 minute mark.
Jotaro won in the last hit because Jonathan's body still refuse to heal properly on the left side. Also that leg was the one that went flying before. Plot convinience? obviously, but it's interesting cause leaves a lot to theorize about. Why Jotaro and Dio stand is the same? has something to do with Jonathan? Just Araki fuckery? who knows
This is just headcanon but I think it fits pretty well. In the Tarot, the Star Represents hope and overcoming challenges, so Star Platinum, who seemingly has no actual special abilities, would have something along that line. So what would such an ability be? Well, if Star Platinum could adapt to give Jotaro a chance of winning any fight that would basically give him a glimmer of hope. In every fight before DIO Star Platinum's base strengths were enough to beat his enemies, so nothing really happened. However, he had no chance of beating DIO with his Time Stop being so overwhelming, therefore considering the physical similarities between their stands, Star Platinum adapts to give Jotaro a chance by letting him move in Time Stop for short periods. After DIO's Time Stop evolves and becomes longer, then Star Platinum fully gains the ability to stop time. After Part 3, nothing is of great enough threat to put Jotaro in a truly hopeless situation, since he now has Star Platinum: The World, so there are no further adaptations.
You don't need to try explain why DIO lost. Jotaro just hit the leg really hard. There's no trick or anything to it. You look dumb coming up with these theories because like the other guy said. How would your theory make sense when Jonathan was alive to slice dio? Is DIO not using Jonathans body here?
I wish you’d play Eyes of Heaven cause Dio got done even dirtier there lmao. Spoilers for Eyes if Heaven below Dio really gained the power to rewrite reality and became a god but then Jotaro just got the same powers and killed him 🤣
I strongly disagree we have characters like Funny valentine, Kira yoshakage, and pucce. Dio is just a real simple bad guy who was evil for the sake of being evil with no real motivation and you barley get so see him in part 3 until the final episodes.
Vampire blood can bring people back to life, it brought Vanilla Ice back. But thankfully, Joseph was a Hamon user, so his body naturally purified the blood, so he didn’t turn into a vampire. He got all the benefits, and none of the negatives.
they weren't flying they were just anime jumping, like in naruto when they're supposed to be jumping on the trees but they are just flying 'cos the animators are lazy
As ridiculous as it sounds, those magazines in Jotaro’s shirt barely make sense. Jotaro landed on the bookstore after putting a hole in DIO’s gut early on, and had time to grab “armor” while DIO was draining that jewelry store attendant like a Capri Sun.
Just explaining a few things! 1. Dio and Jotaro cant fly, they are using there stands power to kick of buildings and stuff but was poorly adapted into the anime causing it to look like there flying. then barraging and slowly flying up is them punching so hard its slowly pushing themselves up. 2. Jotaro being able to stop time. He could always stop time but Dio learnt it first because he got his stand first and trained it for a long time. Jotaro learned it in the fight because he was pressured into a situation where his stand had to evolve and gave the push for Jotaro to stop time aswell. Thats why its 'The Same Type Of Stand As Star Platinum' Hope this cleared up a few things!

they show it for a second, but jotaro and dio are "stand-leaping" pushing themselves around by punching and jumping around with their stands
Best part is when Dio drop a road roller on JoJo and try to kill him with it.
Joseph And Roshi born on the 27??? Roshi is a JOJO reference
I'm assuming it's the same month too
There's so much you can take away from these past few episodes, but you can look back and see how good it was written.
Dio: *is being split into half and screaming of disbelief and pain*
Jotaro: 🗿
After Jotaro punched a hole in Dio's stomach, he landed on a bookstore sign, thus explaining where he got the books.
Not only that, Araki said in interviews that The World and Star Platinum were the first two Stands he ever designed before any others
It kinda is plot convenience, but it's stabilished much earlier in the fight, so when Jotaro stops time it shouldn't be a big surprise, but rather a logical conclusion that makes sense in hindsight.
jotaro moving when dio stops time means that he used the ability ''time stop'' too. thats why on the first time he moves just for an instant.
@@blackpants7385 all stands have gimmicks, star platinum from the start was just punching shit really hard so he didnt really reveal his "power" because maybe he couldnt control it yet or stuff like that
It’s also hinted at, in the fight with Wheel of Fortune.
Just wanted to say y'all have been one of my favorite reactions to JoJo. Love the energy, the predictions, your senses of humor. Everything spot on
You're next line is: You say something about my hair?
You say something about my hair?
Wait what??!?
Can we all just appreciate how far Dio has come? From almost being a lawyer to almost ruling the world. 👏👏👏
In ready for part 4 personally my favorite
Part 7 is my favourite but part 4 is a extremely close second
So you've seen how Jotaro and DIO fight, compare this to Jonathan vs Dio.
Dio respects jonathan and jonathan the same, they play with tactics, but Dio still looks down on him sometimes
Now look at Jotaro vs DIO, DIO *REALLY* wants Jotaro dead, and same for Jotaro, but the difference here is DIO is *GENUINELY* scared of Jotaro, like Jotaro actually fucked up DIO even as a vampire.
Remember jonathan said "my ghost will haunt you" so is starplatinum jonathan???
@@H4B1B1JJ he never said that. That's a fake line
Don't let this hella epic fight distract you from the fact that DIO thought magnets worked in stopped time.
He thought KINETIC ENERGY worked in stopped time.
He honestly deserved what happened to him.
23:11 some flight attendant "SOMEONE HELP THE PILOTS NARCOLEPSY KICKED IN AND NO ONE IS FLYING THE PLANE" Josef "one second let me grab my plot armor"
This fight was so extra, so over the top, and SO GOOD
2:42 that scene where the glass shatters and Dio's stand appears. Was slightly teased in the previous versions of the op. Of you check it out and stop the frame (THE WARDO!) you see a shadow and it slightly changes as the ep go until you see the final scene
Dio: *never seen cars and compares them to horse carriages*
Also Dio: *knows about planes and flight attendants*

MAN, I loved this part. The ending nearly made me tear up
The ora of the century
Ik this was 3 years ago but as rewatching this I remembered from the manga, that this whole fight that takes place in episode 47 is only 2 minutes after Kakoyin died. And Jotaro kills Dio at the 3 minute mark.
"The wind is pulling the gravitational waves."
"Ye I think that's right"
*Moves finger in time stop*
BOI
Was watching some of your older reactions today and noticed how much more comfortable shira is on camera now lol
Dio: I can't stop time and no one can stop me!
Jotaro: Hey Dio guess what?
Dio: What?
Jotaro: I can stop time too.
Dio: WTF?
11:20
DIO's heart headband is part of his skull 💀
Jotaro won in the last hit because Jonathan's body still refuse to heal properly on the left side. Also that leg was the one that went flying before. Plot convinience? obviously, but it's interesting cause leaves a lot to theorize about. Why Jotaro and Dio stand is the same? has something to do with Jonathan? Just Araki fuckery? who knows
the 1993 OVA handled the final fight extremely well imo, u guys should absolutely check it out someday if u havent :D
19:00 kinda sus ngl
Is it just me or does the da after roada roller flow so smoothly
ThAnk y’all for blessing me with this vid, I’m finally get to see yall reaction to DIO vs jotaro 🐉
The cutest couple on RUclips 💖💖💖
19:15 remember how Jonothan sliced his whole body into 2? Right now both halves of his body haven't fully healed and merged yet. Its like a weak spot.
But it was Dio’s actual body that got sliced, Dio’s using Jonathan’s body here.
Spoilers for Eyes if Heaven below
Dio really gained the power to rewrite reality and became a god but then Jotaro just got the same powers and killed him 🤣
I'd like to imagine that's Star Platinum's true ability. To give the middle finger to Dio anytime everytime.
Now that's an upgrade to his star finger if I seen it lol 😂
I despise that game, that plot was beyond stupid, gameplay was ass, but visually it looked okay
So it's the same type of stand as Star Platinum part 2
Watching your reactions to part 3 was so fun! It's like I get to watch Jojo for the first time again
Time for a trip to Morioh
One of the best parts of Jojo is done, what a journey it has been, I enjoyed rewatching it with you guys, looking forward to part 4 now!
ZA WARUDO WRYYYYYYYYY
The “flying” is from them punching off objects like how Jotaro kicked off the sand in the first episode of the Egypt arc
DIO IS BEST JOJO VILLAIN Also, SHINE ON YOU CRAZY DIAMOND
I strongly disagree we have characters like Funny valentine, Kira yoshakage, and pucce. Dio is just a real simple bad guy who was evil for the sake of being evil with no real motivation and you barley get so see him in part 3 until the final episodes.
Funny valentine is the best written antagonist , but the most evil is definitely DIO
These 48 chapters with you guys was truly fun, wasn't it?
Love your reactions

Thats why its 'The Same Type Of Stand As Star Platinum'
Hope this cleared up a few things!
DIO IS NOT ANNOYING HE IS PEAK SAUCINESS infact for all the up coming jojo parts DIO will get referenced
I'm so happy I found you guys, I love your reactions so far, I found your channel like just the other day completely by chance and found your channel and I love your content keep up the good...no keep up the great work!
Part 4 is my favorite for the anime. I can't wait to watch you guys react to it!
I think David Production foreshadowed Jotaro's own timestop back during the N'doul fight with that distortion effect during the punch out.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed SDC! It's really a thing of beauty. But now you're on to Diamond is Unbreakable, which is my favorite part for many reasons. I can't wait!!

In the Dub, after Jotaro kicks DIO's legs, Jotaro's VA Matt Mercer makes a reference to his OverWatch character's catchphrase.
Every day we get a little closer to HEAVEN.
DIO's kicks are godly. Definitely one of my favorite scenes in anime.
