this is my #1 favourite youtube movie of all time. best car ever made. changing the oil later today. and thank you. and the birds tweating at the end. well. poetic. cheers mate.
Very nice video! I enjoy this moment on the w123's. Not so much on the w124's because of the plastic panels underneath and the annoying oil filter housing. I recently bought a 1980 240TD and it's perfect mechanically and underneath but needs bodywork. My 5th w123, lovely cars!
Awesome! Thank you. Friend just relocated from San Francisco to Chicago with his 1983 240D and we've got to get his 15W-50 oil out of there. Only 11 degrees F today. Yikes! Can you tell me what the oil capacity is, assuming a full drain and filter change? Thank you.
Perhaps filter it down to 1 micron first (get rid of particulates that will clog injectors, etc), and mix it with about 50% volume of petro diesel (or 20% gasoline). Thoughts?
Everything important is there and on spot! Romantic and a bit artistic too. You can almost smell that car while watching.
Fantastic video.
Cheers!
Thank you!
Well done, Sir! I'll soon be doing my own oil change on the 240D for the first time. This video helped me prepare.
Thanks! And good luck.
This is one of the best car videos I've seen. These Cars are Fantastic!!
Not useless nice change from all the creepy euro disco music on some of the others!

using this guide for my oil change thank you sir
I liked your video. it reminded me something you would see on Mr Rodgers Neighborhood or Sesame Street, and I mean that in a positive way.
Thank you!
Wowza that filter is huge. It really seems like it has purpose. Nice video
Thanks

Thanks! I'm gonna say it's around 6qts. I use Shell Rotella 5w-40 T6. It comes in 4qt bottles so get 2 and you'll have some extra.
The best

years have passed, but tell me, underneath the oil filter there is a spring?
Will you pour that old oil in the fuel tank in the end?

No polutions control and people controled 123 d is a german tank
is it the same for a 1974 240D? If so, what oil did you use and how many quarts?
how many oil goes to 240d engine? it's OM616?
Approximately 6.5 oils. Yes.
How often do you change engine oil?
Somewhere between 3 and 4k miles.
