Yamaha MT10 Akrapovic Titanium link pipe install walk thru . Link for servo buddy to completely remove the Ex-up valve motor and avoid that check engine light.. www.ebay.com.au...
I haven't started this install just yet, but I am so glad that I came across your video! My parts are on the way! I will post more later with a video perhaps.
This is a few years later and I need to reinstall the catalytic converter on my bike, I have to do that because it's time for the first "inspection" by the Swedish "Motorvehicle inspection agency". Basically no way around it, the bike has to have the catalytic converter in order to pass the test. Unsure how active you still are with this channel but if possible could you answer me this: The wires for the ex-up valve motor needs to be re-installed, correct? In that case, how do I know which cable goes to with part of the valve? Great video for sure I understand why you have so many likes on it. Excellent info. :)
@@RichieIsf Fantastic! Well I bought it second hand, and for all I know there was no flash done. There's no ex-up eliminator installed either, I was out in the garage the other day to check so that everything to restore the bike to original state came with the bike. From what I've read on fz10.org it might not actually be necessary as the valve stays open by default. But that's a new find since I asked my original question here. :)
Amazing video. I’ve watched quite a few instal videos but none were as clear and detailed step but step as this. Thank you so much for this amazingly helpful Video. 👍👍
Good one Rich, The link pipe makes the bike run lean, hence the backfire. I think the last time we had a mag you were looking into a tune. Great video mate and that rear tyre looks like it's been ridden. cheers.

Great video Richie. Followed this to the second today when fitting my Leo Vince decat to my Akra end can. Nice and clear instructions. Video really helped. Thanks 👍
Nice video mate. Will come I handy when I'm fitting my Arrow Pro Race half system. I ended up getting that servo buddy too, should have some storage under the seat now haha
Before pulling on the EXUP wires put cable pull lube on the exposed cable and it should pull out much easier. :) Also when removing bolts, screws have a label system as the where they came out of and belong. Great job, I thank you! :) (Do you ever use Hi-Temp gasket seal or anti seize on the exhaust fittings?)
Hey Vladimir, thanks for your reply. I unplugged the sensor as it was easier then twisting the wiring up which u will need to do for the right side . Right side connection plug is very short from main loom and not easy to get to.
I take it you're in Australia, is this legal? I want to get an MT-10 and do this to it, but i'm scared of it getting ticketed. I mean, my straight pipe, no baffle mt07 isn't legal... but it's not as noticeable as i feel this would be.
Hi Richie. Thank you for the great video! Did you run the link pipe for any length of time BEFORE getting the ECU flashed? If yes, did you run the bike at full throttle? I just got the link pipe but cannot get the ECU flashed until later next week. Would be fun to install and ride it this weekend. Thanks for the great vids!
Great video! really helped me out a lot, thank you very much. I fitted mine yesterday and I did not use the gaskets from the OEM cat, I noticed that although you mention that they should be used with the decat, you did not use them either. Am I correct with this? The Akro ends did not seem to be wide enough to fit the gaskets into them.
Sxisofrenths, thanks for your kind words. Seems i was wrong with my words on this one . Def no gaskets in there.! Be sure to hit that subscribe button for more content. I've got brake upgrades coming.!
Very detailed and clear instructions. Truly a great work. I am going to follow this for my FZ/MT 10 in few days. On a diff topic. Noticed the comfort seats in your bike. Does it make a lot of different for less than 4 hrs ride ?
Are you riding with just link pipe installed? Or will you be running a fuel controller slash reflash? Does the silencer bracket come with the link pipe??
Hey mate, I’m thinking of getting the akra slip on and link pipe but am concerned about the noise, how do you like the noise ? Is it ok or does it piss you off ?
I have a few questions Did you install the other o2 sensor or did you somehow delete that? What do you need to delete it if you do? Did you need an ecu flash for this setup?
Great Vid. Thanks man. New MT10 Owner and I have watched all your videos, used some as guides. Did you need to get it tuned after this? run into any issue with the bikes electronics? I would really like to do this mod to make the bike louder, but I am concerned about side effects.
Cheers Sean , A tune is highly recommended for the bike following the fitment of a link pipe. after all, you would have fitted it for either the sound of that gorgeous cross plane engine or to get more performance . if you follow my guide and remove only the cables for the ex-up valve and not the motor then it should be all ok . Your tuner will be able to disable it the ex-up motor while tuning. I'd also recommend doing the AIS plates before tuning .
Great vid, nicely made. Would you do any sort of a re-map or dyno run? For me the bike is so powerful stock I would take alot of convincing to spend the cash on a link pipe and Akro for little or no provable power gains. Also as an older biker I get tinnatus from too many years riding loud bikes with no hearing protection.
Banditmanuk , thanks for your support mate 👍 Yeah following the link pipe fitment my mate did notice a little flat spot , from around 3k-4500 k rpm so tuning would be a big plus. Not to mention the back firing. Most places we called strongly suggested having a tune performed.
Great video. Made me want to just buy it and fit it myself. I am really interested in getting this fitted on my SP. I got the Akrapovic Slip-on already. But honestly, is it redicilously loud? Hey Rich. Will be fitting my Akra link pipe over the weekend and i just had a question. Why do you not use any of the sealants/grease? Just wandered if i would need them at all. Thanks!
What does this accomplish? Same for ais, and other parts? Trying to learn? And does not the ecu need to be remapped after removing all these parts? What if one just had the ecu remapped to remove restrictions without removing any of these parts? What makes the on off throttle response and throttle in general as smooth as possible? Just a remap or does one have to disconnect and or remove parts or replace parts?
I have had the same questions in the past. I'm running a race can with the cat still fitted and a K&N air filter. I opted for a ECU flash to make the bike smoother and remove that jerky off throttle. Wow what a difference. For me its the best bang for buck mod you can make. Power gains aside it is still worth doing from the onset. I still have the EXUP and AIS fitted and working on mine but I have blanked off and removed the O2 sensors as they can try and correct the fueling of the new map. The EXUP is designed to provide more torque at lower revs and even out the power curve making it more linear according to Wikipedia and Yamaha. For me removing it just seems like a bad thing to do. As for the AIS I quite like the pops and bangs on deceleration so I'm keeping them in too.
This is a great vid Richie - Nice one. I have noticed on your vids you have a fluro Yellow yet this is a Tech Black. Did you swap out for a different colour?

At the point where you use a rubber mallet.
