Don't underestimate Oatchi, sometimes he can boost the efficiency hell a lot, sometimes when you think of something should be done with Pikmins e.g. Red for fire hazards, Oatchi with fireproof tools can save time on picking pikmins, and Oatchi will come back after geeting his work done while pikmins don't
Another tip, while you have pikmin on Oatchi, when you charge you'll throw all of the pikmin on Oatchi's back onto whatever you're charging at. This erases enemy healthbars very quickly, and makes most dirt walls a piece of cake.
