What's really inspiring with this gentleman is his amazing dedication to his vlogging career. He just had an accident few days ago but it didn't back him down to keep himself on the rails. Salute to you mah man.
I am 74 years old and I am from Pampanga. I just want to inform you that mango and sticky rice is one of breakfast in Pampanga serve also with prawns and fresh carabaos milk. Try it and it’s very delicious. It’s not only Thai dish but it’s a common dish in Pampanga
But normally it’s just eaten plain, right. Just suman and sliced up mangoes? Or I think that’s the combo I saw people doing before. It’s better if they use the sweet sticky rice type cooked in coconut milk.
@@royignacio6922 I am not sure as I live for more than fifty years abroad . I am sure there is but otherwise go to Pampanga. I visit Philippines at least once a year and each time I always make sure to eat sticky rice before I leave.
Mango and suman is popular for ages in antipolo. During the month of may, we go to antipolo church then buy suman, mango and cashew nuts. That's our version of mango sticky rice.
Love ❤️ all your contents. It’s always fun watching all your videos. Hope you’ll never get tired of the Philippines. We love you staying here forever 😜
Seeing you each day in your vlog makes me miss PH so much! In God's time i'll be home🙏! You take care always Mergim! Keep that good attitude towards life! Stay safe, stay humble wherever you'll be!
So yummy! Whilst watching your mango and sticky rice dessert ..planning to cook suman this weekend (suman-made of sticky rice and coconut cream) and eat.with mango. Love watching all your vlogs. God bless you more.
The statue is complete however there are still some works being done on the side. Supposed to be lit on June 12 the same time with independence day but was cancelled. They say hopefully by July, the statue will be fully lit.
We also have sticky rice here in Cebu cooked with ginger wrapped in a banana leaf in a rectangular form and paired with hot choco or "tabliya" as we call it and some also with ripe mangoes. We call that meal "Puto-Sikwati". Hope you will try one when you come back in Cebu. Btw it's rare to find because it's normally out very early in the morning because it is a breakfast meal and sold via vendors. But I heard there's a place that sells somewhere in Busay. I myself crave for it.😊
Khao Khai at Crossroads (32nd St.) offers mango sticky rice. Would like to know how it compares to Pho Hoa's. I do strongly recommend Khao Khai's fried chicken.
Dalawa yung 1st😅😂 There’s a milktea shop here in batangas named BUBBLR, I don’t know if they also have branches in manila but their wintermelon milktea with creamcheese cap is also tasty.
I love that Uptown Mall there in BGC. And most of the SM malls there in Manila and others in the Philippines They’re huge and always brisk and busy with lots of people. Over here in SoCal many malls are closing down and little customers. So sad. Americans are shopping online nowadays and hardly going to the malls. So the malls here are dying.
When I pay money for cooked food, my soul cries ... And there are two reasons - the first, I stupidly think that I can cook better))) And the second and most important - I have little money)))
I'm sorry, I went to another branch of the same restaurant and we were very disappointed with their service. I dunno if it's just that branch but the service was not good. Also we ordered phoa( forgive me with the spelling) but the soup was not hot and fresh and just microwaved. It wasn't even hot, just a tab warm. And when we asked if we can have the soup heated they admitted they just microwaved it. Even the spring rolls was not fresh. After ordering it , it arrived in less than a minuite. Now if that was fresh it would have taken time to make it. So really sorry we were very disappointed and didn't even finish our food. Really don't have a good experience in that restaurant.
Hey Mergim! What a coincidence! I always eat at Pho Ha here in Southern California. I always order the chicken or beef pho noodle soup. So yummy! But I hardly order the dish you just ate. I just eat the pho soups. And I’ve never heard of sticky mango rice. No such thing here.
Hi Mergim... I was just wondering if you would like to go to Legaspi City and do a vlog on the Mayon volcano eruption. It is such a sight specially at night. No worries it's not dangerous as linf as you stay at a safe distance.😊
First off how would a bubble milk tea taste like without tapioca pearls?! It wouldn’t taste right. Mergim from my understanding ube and taro are not the same. The only similarity is the color purple. Pho Hoa one of my favorite restaurant in 🇺🇸and the 🇵🇭💙 Didn’t know they have mango sticky rice?! Gonna have to try both 😂 I would put Sriracha sauce though on that dish to make it spicy and masarap 😋 Have you tried their coffee?
Yeah there’s quite a few differences between them, mainly ube being from the Philippines and taro from south east Asia. Ube is richer in natural sugars and has a softer texture- Masarap 😋
Pho hoa is good and healthy. There is usually a branch in your fave mall. I'm not a paid endorser. Juz like it. Chairman can u recommend a good steak that is not off the roof?
If you have the money sir, then maybe youll have the guts to live like mergim, because he's staying in an expensive place and eats in fancy restaurants that ordinary filipinos cannot afford to even enter.
The young people nowadays found a new way to live and created jobs for themselves with freedom and flexibility and earn more than a regular person also having different income streams. They are living the life!
dude the only lifestyle that is good if you lived in BGC is if you have your own condo and Lux Car.. If you're just renting, it is not a good place to lived. For now he is safe but when the time comes 😅
mergim taro is not ube. same color for flavouring but taste different. taro is gabi in tagalog. it’s a root crop and the gabi leaves are mainly used to make a dish called laing. maybe u should try it sometime. happy food tripping!
Philippines inflation sucks.. Everyrhing has gotten much expensive.. P390 for a meal? The average filipino usually spends P100 or less for a meal, so that is expensive for the majority of filipinos.
Inflation is world wide! But 390 pesos is actually relatively on the low end of meals in BGC - but i know a few paves even cheaper than this ~ 200p, let me know if you want me to make a video on this
I'm not sure, Justin's dad and my dad work together, they are both Mounties, that's how I know. I just think it's very inspiring he's raising money for gay and non binary animals ❤
I happen to be one of your fan who want to change some things with some of my "kababayans" behavior but I think it won't happen anymore. Things like useless noice, çleanliness in soroundings. I mentioned this because I can hear in the background shouting child, barking dogs considering that it's already BGC wherein those things should be watched. I'm talking of consideration to others. One thing I noticed that some of them even don't have the temerity to say "sorry" even if they've already stepped on your foot. When you courteously open the door for them , you won't be able to hear a small "thank you". Whatever happened to these people. Where is the breeding?
This is not a budget meal. This has the same price in the USA. Remember, you're in the Philippines. The standard of living is way less than the USA. Therefore, this should be way cheaper than USA price.
dude that's too expensive for just a few serving for 400pesos you can get enough for two people in Mang Inasal 😆 even the sticky rice is too expensive, I rather eat in Marugame Udon or TORO for that price
Why are vloggers obsessed with BGC? It's for the wealthy Filipinos and wealthy tourists not the real Manila. The average Filipino and western tourist cannot afford to do or buy anything there. I didn't like it tbh. Too Western. About time other wider areas of Manila were explored and filmed giving a real perspective for the traveller.

It's Vietnamese....Pho is pronounced, "fa". Lovely selections. I've eaten in one, in Glorietta in Makati City. Great choice 👍
Their Menu is so easy to navigate through, and the food at that price point is great :)

Filipinos love their mango a bit sour not just sweet, you could tell the mango is fresh when its a bit sour than all mushi or over riped sweet mergim😊

Taro is gabi in tagalog. Ube is purple yam.
*kurimi mixed fruits* is my fave
The Phat Duck next door is also good😂
What do you like to get from there
You may want to visit "The Victor" statue in Pasig. It's quite new.
Is it complete or is there still scaffolding surrounding it?
The statue is complete however there are still some works being done on the side. Supposed to be lit on June 12 the same time with independence day but was cancelled. They say hopefully by July, the statue will be fully lit.

It's just a matter of couple years before BGC will be replaced by another modern town next door or the new islands being built next to MOA.

I sometimes wish we have that level of food selection in Australia. I'll have to go to that place next time I'm in the Philippines.
Watch out folks, the "Grim Reaper' is back on the prowl at BGC!!! Just kidding...hahahaha!!
Try the mango sticky rice at Bangkok Tea Station, located in Sth Cembo. You can also order from Grab food.

300 to 400 pisos per meal is a budget friendly for most westeners but not for locals 😢
