Lutherie demystified, indeed! Best lutherie channel on YT. I look forward to your next video on the "acoustic properties of the box." I know it all comes down to physics, but I'm truly...uh, mystified (😉) by the complex interaction of the top, air, and back (and neck?). Simply fascinating stuff! Thank you, Garrett.
Hi Garrett. I saw you were very cautious while removing the plastic film, but didn't talk about removing the tape used to fix bindings. How do you remove it to avoid strip loose fibers? Just being careful or heating it a bit with an air heater? I'm just building my secomd guitar and your videos are a treasure for me. I just can't thank u enough. Regards frmñom Spain.
It's somewhat surprising, but I never worry about pulling off the tape and don't need special care when doing it. You'll notice I fold a little tab on the tape to make it easy to grab. I'm happy the videos are helping you.
@GarrettLeeLuthier I definitely should look for a tape with weaker glue. I used Acajou (the cheapest wood I found) for my first guitar and had problems with some loose fibers. Might not be a problem with other woods.
Never clicked play so fast! Thank you Garrett. You're by far my fav lutherie channel on here.
Thanks so much. I hope these videos help you.
The small floating miter box to trim partially glued binding is genius. This has bedeviled me for many builds. I will make one directly! Thanks!
Great! I hope yours will work as well as mine has.

You're very welcome. I'm glad you're enjoying the series.
I observe different luthiers but I've never seen such precision and professionalism. Congratulations.
That's extremely nice of you to say. Thank you.
Nice colour aesthetic and end graft design.
Thanks. I appreciate the nice comment.
Great channel, so glad I found it!
Much appreciated. I'm glad you found the videos.

Does the carpet protection film gum up in your router bit when cutting the top purfling channel?
Happily, not at all.
@@GarrettLeeLuthier Looks like it's time for a trip to the hardware store. 🙂 Thanks for the info!
