Regarding the balance dataslate from for T-Sons, while their direct nerfs were obviously nerfs, I think they are not that significant if you plan your turn out and utilise the aspiring sorcerers in the squads. But TS are in a unique position to profit from the general stratagem changes, as they can basically convert 6 cabal point to a command point, potentially twice per turn. They have psychic torrent weapons that can shoot indirectly via warpsight, and warp sight becomes way more accessable now. I barely played in a way that the nerfs impact me, so I see this as some kind of buff.
Space Wolves are the lowest loyalist Marines, when they have a very strong archetype? How is that possible when all they lose compared to SM are Apothecarys and Named HQs. They gain an improved detachment, have some very good named HQs in Bjorn, Ragnar, Murderfang and Logan (even has a Waaagh like ability) and have even more relevant Datasheets: TWC, Wulfen, Dreads with Stormshields, Hounds of Morkei, Fenriswolves, HQs on Thunderwolf and even more. Add a couple lancers to a list of TWC, Wulfen, JP Ints and Scouts - 👨🍳👌🏽 I believe they would be at least mid A tier; I have the most victories with them out of all my marines and simply due to the wound count and toughness of TWC. The lancers can pick anything off if youve got a good lined up shot - the built in rerolls are massive. Each of my Lancer took down 1 Castigator each by the end of Round 2). Logan can and has taken down Rhinos for me single handedly; as on a charge alongside the TWC (their ability): his Axe alone deals 4 flat damage at S8, -2AP and 6 attacks (has 10A S6 2Dmg sweep profile as well). I’ve played 3 games with them so far just at my local shop with a friend; but in my humble opinion it is the most efficient “jail” type list for marines (my personal belief).. I mean it’s 24 Wolves at T6 4W each; supported by 15 Wulfen with T5 2W and a 6+FNP, and 4+ fight on death 😎🥵 very barbaric
Aeldari is probably right in B tier now. They really don’t want to see these non interactive play styles with all these fast moving jsj msu units and the indirect tools. A lot of their units have been punished because of how efficient they can be, but they’ve also tanked the main thing that makes them efficient. It still boggles my mind that we get 6 fate dice and one per phase limit while miracle dice can be readily abused, dare I say shamelessly abused. Anyway, cheers ya handsome devils.
"Chaos Knights have Votann's number" I haven't played a single match against knights, loyalist or chaos, where my Votann army hasn't tabled them turn 2. Votann eat knights for breakfast with 4AP in melee with beserks and hearthguard and d6 attacks with sustained 2 and anti-vehicle 2+ from the thunderkyn. They also get to start the game with +1 to hit and wound on against nearly their opponent's entire army when they are only bringing 5-6 models. It is *not* a good matchup for knights.
GSC are definitely straight up booty with the Codex. I'm sure they'll eventually get cheap enough to make up for no longer having an army rule, but they're definitely going to be really boring without the ability to kill anything. It's fun you can kill nothing in so many valid ways, but games with them are boring and uneventful. Getting cheaper won't change that too much sadly.
I like the good vibes towards games workshop. I don’t work for them but I think it’s good to encourage them to keep up good work. I look forward to wr spread reducing further.
As soon as I heard the space marine section was judged with the divergent chapters included I zoned right out and stopped caring. I don’t care if Dark Angels Ironstorm or Black Templars Gladius is the optimal way to play the detachments. Say that in the Dark Angels and Black Templars section. I want to know how the codex compliant chapters fair. If you take the divergent chapters out, where do they end up? B tier? C tier? Nick mentions he thinks Firestorm is good; is that in regard to when it’s used by Black Templars or when the rest of us plebeians use the detachment?
On Aeldari: I am not a competitive player, but I have played a lot of 10th with the Eldar, and watching loads of batreps by players who are much better than me. I do not personally have a great perspective on if, competitively, Aeldari are correct in B, or should be A or C. I will say this though: In my casual scene I have played 4 games with them in Pariah Nexus. (vs Templars, Marines, Grey Knights) and they have been honestly great. All the action monkeys went up in cost, but there are more actions to perform now, meaning that Hawks and Spiders are still a great secondary scoring backbone. Windriders (in 6 or 9 with a Farseer on bike) are phenomenal, especially with Fire & Fade. The Troupe brick with Yvraine and the Visarch is expensive but awesome. The wayleaper is still amazing. They were at 47% and took nerfs though. I don't know if it's me learning faster, or engaging with the educational content on this channel and others more, or just playing more and building experience faster over my friends. Vs top tier opponents Aeldari might fall lower than where they were, but for me personally right now, they are doing just fine.
The background is way too dark when put against your dark jerseys. Other than that. Chefs kiss. Your balls quality has gone way up over the years. Nice job
Do you think skipping the enhancements on big knights to save 100pts to get 2x units of voidsman-at-arms or 1 calledus assassin just to do actions and Secondaries duty?
Drukhari also had the huge buff to archon(the new lord of deceit Is so strong on them, but you have to play It to understand, i was also like meh at the beggining then you play It and all the game Is warped around that). And also the bonus too Battle line, they have 2 of the best Battle line in the game!
As a world eaters player you can play without spamming eightbound/exalted. I went 6-0 at a GT in March this year with only 2 min squads of eightbound and spamming maulerfiends.
Would you consider a army "balanced" if it has a 50% win rate but never takes the top place? And the changes are still not enough to take a big knight.
Guard may have gotten more fun (Which is subjective) But they didn't really get a ton of diversity they just changed what is good. You should still want some artillery and feel like it's worth its points in a competitive game. Infantry guard should still be playable. As y'all said guard just changed which units they're bringing. What I think Guard needs is if they're not going to get a codex soon which really they should because they got screwed last edition, If they need their stratagems adjusted because game changes made them sad now. Expert bombardiers needs to be replaced with something useful that Guard would want to use often and benefits their infantry survivability maybe do make up a bit for the reinforcements change. And the stratagem that lets you use orders in the enemy turn needs to be fixed to give a bonus order, and in my opinion it should let you move 3 in right away if you choose move move move
So, I was planning on getting a manta at Gencon last year, and they did not have it, so I got 2 Tiger Sharks instead... guess that is going to pay off now 🤣
GSC is totally D tier. GW over estimate the impact of the army rule. I have played many games and talked to all GSC players I know and no one said the army rule made a significant impact in any of their game. Statistically, it could, but even if all your units return, to make an impact the timing of their death has to be perfect so they come back when you need them and there is enough room on the board to place them where they need to be to perform the mission you just picked. Too much randomness. And keep in mind that contrary to Tyranid and SitW which is also random, the GSC have nothing in their list to punch up. Respawning is their gimmick, they are a paper army. Even the aberrant are about 60% less effective than they used to be (while their cost was reduced by 15%). I shelved my GSC for the next few months and played my nids and won a 3 round RTT with them.
I think Space Wolves are wayyy higher than B tier for you american folks. In the middle of the board of new GW terrain layouts, there is a giant empty space in 3 out of 8 maps (1, 3, 8) and light density on 4 others (2, 4, 5, 6). Blue prints = wolves can freely move over = GG
The army rule desperately needs to be changed to allow you to choose to brings blips into DS instead of onto the table. Well, blip on table to allow interaction but then when the new unit is deployed I need it to be able to go directly into reserve. IMHO that's a top 3 problem with this book.
Would it be a big issue for you guys to make the background a little lighter? Ya'll are somewhat hard to make out. Particularly Nick, which is too bad, with how handsome he is ;)
I wish GW made it so that if a Vehicle has Firing deck equal to the max amount the vehicle could hold, Aura abilities from inside would work on those armound it and those inside could be affected by Waaagh and the like... Right now it feels like the Drukhari has the least useful Vect ability overall for one thing (which is a bit ironic and unbalancing as they have no reduced strat ability either), but it would also open up for calling the Waaagh and affecting the likes of Orks (characters) in what used to be called open-topped vehicles etc.
Drukhari vect aura is on an ideal model IMO. Archons are combat characters, and the biggest threats to drukhari is interrupt/fight on death/-1 damage strat, all of which gets more expensive with the archon right there
Played Drukhari this weekend, and the new Vect ability is awesome! Archon with no overwatch enhancement can move first near a potential overwatch threat, and now it is 2 CP if they want overwatch something else. Charging into melee then makes any defensive stratagem cost extra CP. If opponent failed to save the last wound on 4++ it's now 2 CP to reroll it. Want to grenade or tankshok my 2++ okay 2CP for each. This is best buff for real!
@@sasadi6692 a lot of situational things there though.. like the transport itself being overwatched potentially. the Vect ability is good, that's not my point. Especially Lord Discordant and I'd argue also Vashtorr and the Daemon Prince need to go down in points. Abaddon is also a bit too expensive for what he does and the Defiler desperately needs a new model. And I think Raptors and Havocs have been seriously overcosted with the latest dataslate for no reason whatsoever.
Tau still in the top of the top but have less than 48% winrate.
They took top placing in 3 of the first pariah nexus events
@@thelegendsmith3063 ok. There is some very good tau player. But look a the winrate of the last week for exemple. It's one of the worst faction of the list :

@@thelegendsmith3063 Ironically, none of those lists used Tiger Sharks although AoW sound like their high ranking is based on the avaiability of Tiger Sharks. That being said, I would really treat Tiger Sharks as a rare niche case because although they seem to be quite powerful, even most tournament players probably won't have access to one, let alone two and since they are FW AND aircraft, they aren't very likely to survive the edition or stay good.
reddit already all tears
Reddit doesn't even actually play 40k anywhere except their heads
Yall kinda forgot how good eldar are going to be with the new secondaries. Still A tier easily
Self contained US meta all over again...
Feel free to offer a different opinion!
"Going alphabetical" -cries in Tau and Votann-
