Before I begin, I'd like to say Merci. And now I'd like to just reinforce my appreciation. And I'd like to leave you with my everlasting gratitude. Nailed it.
Hey, I created my first sonata a few months ago on my channel and it does follow this structure! Who knows, only 5 months into piano, maybe I’m the next Bach or Beethoven at 49 years old. Thank You for the tips! ✋🤠🤚
Piano Stop Thank You for your kind words (and exclamation point). 😊 I guess in fairness, it’s not exactly the most complex piece in the world (but it’s on my channel entitled Sonata in F Major). ☺️
Hello, I just want to say thank you for all these useful videos you've been uploading for everyone to see. You're doing something really great for all those beginning aspiring pianists out there including me!
Not every video has to be a typical Piano lesson and you can STILL learn something. I enjoy all your uploads equally. Thank you very much, Lisa and the Pianote team! :) Love from NB
This channel and the lady,(which is so cute when teaching a lesson,) motivated me to play again my piano. I love the way you teach, all kinds of your videos! Thanks to that. ☺️ 🤟
I gotta tell you I've played for years but my playing never sounded awesome. I was happy but always thought I could do better. Your teaching style is fantastic. I love how you demonstrate and teach how to sound good. Thank you for your videos and fun demos. During this pandemic you've made being shut in productive.
It would mean a lot if you guys start a series where you break down the piano playing style of famous pianists so that we can incorporate their techniques into our style.😇
You truly are amazing I've learned so much from your videos. I've been scraping through learning piano with just chording songs learning for the past couple of years from my teacher. Both of these songs I have learned but struggled with intros and outros and ways to get creative. I found it hard transitioning from years of guitar to piano. Your videos take that pressure away of learning something new and I've learned little things on the side just having fun with it.
This is so helpful, especially when playing from a Lead Sheet which often includes no intro or outro. I've learned so much from Pianote about how music is played typically in a performance setting. I never learned any of this from a teacher. Any wonder why I'm constantly recommending Pianote to my friends ???
Thnx for making these videos. This video was really informative and all of the techniques were easy to apply right off the bat. Can you make some more videos on playing intros, outros and interludes with complex aproaches.
I love your videos, it’s straight forward and the information is so so useful/practical !!! Could you do a video on tips for finding the melody and/or developing a better musical ear?
Thanks so much! Developing a better ear all comes down to practice. The more you practice, the better you'll get. Here's a lesson on finding the melody: ruclips.net/video/iUyf4e66I_I/видео.html Another cool tip I would suggest is to pick songs that are super easy for you to play and try to pick out the melody without any music. You want easy songs because then you just have to focus on the listening and not so much the playing. Good luck!
Gaaaah!! I love these little tools you teach us. I would absolutely be so ever appreciative if you could maybe, pretty please, do a lesson on chord coloring. I believe that's what it's called... Errr... Either way, just a few helpful hints on how to make those HUUUGE chords that ballads so often use, and more importantly how to make them sound clean and powerful. If you can't, I completely understand and I would also like to thank you for all the incredible content throughout the lockdown. It's been extremely inspiring and has relit that flame for music and I once again. :)
That's a great idea for a video! We do have one lesson on adding color which might help: ruclips.net/video/dCKHr8FSVFY/видео.html We also have a lesson on common riffs and fills: ruclips.net/video/ALNKC4zIK04/видео.html& Hopefully those are a good place to start!
That's actually a pretty great idea! But there are actually some videos on here where Don Moen himself teaches/runs through his songs. You can find it in DonMoentv.
So sorry for the late reply! I honestly believe it would. Inside the membership we have LOTS of lessons on improvisation and how to start creating and exploring your own freedom. Plus we have weekly live lessons so if you ever had questions or needed inspiration we're here to help!
Your videos is always a big help in learning the piano. Thank you😁 I'm playing guitar most of the time but practicing on the piano is also a lot of fun, and continuously I'm learning new things on the piano. Thank you😁 I've uploaded a few guitar videos if you wanna take a look😉😁
We have a few lessons on arpeggios! ruclips.net/video/JYqWQm5BzuE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/sWSxHBn7uus/видео.html Left-hand arpeggios - ruclips.net/video/q97ZyiBh_pw/видео.html
Thank you for your videos. They're really helpful. May I ask, what software do you use to display that virtual keyboard on top of the piano keys on the video?
I feel that you've made this vedio for me 😅 ah it's for everyone lol whatever. Western music is lot different from Indian ragas. Indian songs have different kind of preludes and interludes. Thanks for the vedio 😊
Most melodies rely on chord tones, which is a fancy way of saying the notes in the chords. If you know the chords of a song, there's a pretty good chance that the melody will use one of the notes from the chords!
Ok that's a few things there! I find it helps to break it down and focus on one at a time. Sus chords are a great place to start because they really change the sound and they're quite simple. Here's a quick intro: ruclips.net/video/XfSdJiXqCCY/видео.html Then 7th chords are some of my favorite chords as well. Here's an explainer: ruclips.net/video/AKSMzmjCTN8/видео.html And here's how to use them in your playing: ruclips.net/video/t7Gu8JPT3QY/видео.html Good luck!
I probably already know the answer but I 'll ask anyway? Are you so sweet and wonderful the whole time or only when you film videos? And also, are you married? I 'm joking ofcourse... Thanks for all the time you spend, sharing your knowledge.
Here's everything you need to nail those intros, outros, and interludes!

That "Oh Shoot" went slightly longer than normal. Great pick up. 😱😀
Perfect! Just finished practicing my hand independence exercises I got from your other videos.
You just need to make tatoo of the base cliff on your left hand. As now I looks incomplete... 😀
@lisa, u r so positive. Your energy helps me so much going through the process of learning the piano. Love u and please keep on! Thanks so much!

I love it when you sing. I know this is a teaching channel but I'd love to hear you perform a full song.
Most helpful tips. Thank you very kindly. I shall need some practice rolling across the chords as you do.

Do you have a full course of piano for singers and songwriters. Basic to advance . I don't want to do classical method
This is great. You should really turn this into a mini course(I would buy it in sec) because this seems simple but there is a bit of an art to this
Thanks! We have a few mini-courses on playing songs here: www.pianote.com/shop
And we're releasing a new course next week on riffs and fills!
Funny chords, happy chords, sad chords make separate videos on them
Ma'am plz explain every part of song making what is Chorus verse bridge etc. ...plz plz request
Thanks alot. Have you restricted download of some of your videos? Coz some refuse to be downloaded
That might be a RUclips thing? I don't know too much about that technical side sorry!
Now I wanna buy a piano.
