Welcome to another author writing routine video! In this one I tried Sylvia Plath's writing routine. This routine was incredibly simple, laid back and by the end of it I almost felt like I didn't try another's person's writing routine 😅 I did enjoy making it and had a lot of fun reading my favourite quote from Plath's THE BELL JAR and also MAD GIRL'S LOVE SONG, which (aside from PRUFROCK) is my favourite poem.
Hope you all enjoy the video 💛 Here are some other writing routines in the series:

Aww that's an adorable comparison. I was obsessed with seals when I was a kid. I'm sure Christy will appreciate that comparison too because of the short story she wrote, The Mercy of Sea-Foam. I love the closed-eyes-wave too; there's something very anime about it.

The Bell Jar hit me like a ton of bricks. And I agree we shouldn’t reduce her life to the way it ended. I struggle with mental illness issues and there are days when you feel completely defeated, but in other days I love life or find it just okay. And I think this might also be the case for people who chose to end their life. They had good days, made beautiful things, had people they loved. Not to diminish their struggle. But I find it sad that a rich life sometimes get’s boiled down to the way it ended.

So important a point. She was also in despair about the end of her marriage and that she knew that Hughes’ mistress was expecting a baby. But her work is full of fierce life and hope.

The poem featured in this video 'Mad Girls Love Song' reminded me of the scene in the show Dickinson where Emily (as in Emily Dickinson) and Lavinia travelled a hundred years into the future and met Sylvia Plath. In the scene Sylvia recites a part of this very poem. You can find it in the youtube video titled "Emily tells Lavinia she loves Sue Dickinson season 3 episode 7". The whole series is amazing.
