Even though we didn't know her, this story and Brandi will stay with us forever, and help us remember to love and care for our own dogs, cats, and other furry, scaly, or feathered friends. We live you Brandi.
No matter how prepared you make yourself to be, when you lose family or friends, you are not ready. Not when the day comes and they pass away. Not when you are watching them being buried/put down and hear people say how great they were. When they talk about that loved one and you realize that all you have left are cherished memories and items that belonged to them.
This was so special to see, to see a man really loving his dog, I hate when people are like "It's just a dog, get a new one" A dog is part of your family and can't just be replaced by a new one
Bless your heart for being such a great friend to your dog. Brandi was very lucky and you were too. I have two dogs, 5 and 8 this year, and have had them ever since they were pups, and I hope I can do the same as you. Love is a very powerful thing, especially between dog and man. I am a woman with a male black Labrador I rescued from the mountains and he is my best friend and protector. He also ignites me to being a healthier and hence happier person because I have to make sure he has a good life, and he does the same for me. My younger female is a Staffordshire/pit/beagle/Sharpe and just the best and sweetest addition to our family. No dog is alike but I hope in your retirement you are happy and maybe you can adopt another dog who needs someone to love them sometime. Best wishes
You were the best Dad in the world to Brandi. She was so lucky to have you and vice versa. We lost our treasured sweetie Bella on Monday this week and we're so heartbroken. Seeing all of the love for animals here is bringing us some comfort. Thanks for your beautiful tribute.
What a wondrous little soul Brandi is - and I do honestly believe our pets and animals have souls. How else can the connection they abidingly make with even the most troubled, wounded, hurting, seemingly disconnected human souls among us? You and your beautiful family were gifted with a treasure in Brandi - and she with a beautiful life with all of you. And she IS a living soul - waiting for you now at the Rainbow Bridge. You'll be together once more when your life is well and fully lived.
This is a very very special video-I watch it regularly and Brandi is such a wonderful sweet little angel I wish I could have met her.She was very happy and loved and I think the man who made this is an awesome person.Someday you will meet Brandi again in heaven and I hope I get to meet her as well-God Bless you and Brandi sir you are a very nice man.She waited that day to tell you goodbye-you were her best friend.I cannot watch this video without crying but they are mostly happy tears because I know how much you did for her and how much she loved you.
I can't stop crying....... she was such a lovely, beautiful dog. I am sure she had a great life with you all. You can't replace a dog, but u can give another dog the same love and home.
Thanks Dave for the lovely tribute to your lovely gal, Brandi. Our pets always bring out the best in all of us. She is gone but closer than you know, she lives in your heart, where Brandi is healthy and vigorous again. Our lives are long and our furry childrens lives are so short, but they teach us lessons everyday. Faithfulness, Love and loyalty, the best imparted to us daily. Find peace Dave, you are the luckiest family to have such a pet as Brandi.
What a touching video, as a fairly cynical 51 year old man it brought tears to my eyes. I lost my best friend ever August 30 2011, my Queensland Blue, just old age, he was about 16 I believe. I'd already lost two cats that I also loved, but losing Blue just killed me. "That's it! No more pets! Ever!". Worked for a while, I was free! Then a friend adopted this dog, turned out to be too much for him, he was going to take her back to the pound...... "Unless you want to try it". I was already the designated dog sitter and bonded with her, he knew damned well I'd take her on. So, for the last few years I've had my second best buddy, an ENORMOUS Alaskan Malamute named Mika. Sweetest, friendliest dog I've ever met in my life, just really big. Thankfully, I literally live in the middle of a National Forest, so I can take her out every day and let her run off the excess energy.
Brandi was the cutest dog ever! RIP dear doggy. She was blessed to have you as an owner. I also lost my dog Steffie 10 years ago, right there in my arms, so I know exactly how that feels like. Strenght to all of you.....!!
You truly loved Brandi I can tell. I am so thankful that she brought that much sunshine to your life as you brought to hers. I had a beautiful girl and her name was Darlin, it hurt so bad when she passed. Anyway this is not about me it is about you're beautiful Brandi. You put together a beautiful and I truly mean that video at different stages in her life for us all to see and be reminded that our pets are not to be neglected in any way! They are a part of the family.!.! To me they are more than a gift from God, they are actually a part of Him as their unconditional love shows it day in and day out. My condolences even if this happened 2 or 4 years ago I'm sure it seems like yesterday. LG
I came across today this beautiful tribute that you posted 14years ago. My tears are falling as I feel the love and care to showered this beautiful girl Brandi. I hope you and your family are ok. Brandi is your guardian angel dog.
I swore to god that I'd never do it again .. two years went by and this little approximate 5 month old feral pup walked up sat down and put his chin on my leg and looked up at me .. get the picture? That was over eight years ago. We'll be thinking about Brandi and all other wonderful spirits next weekend when we go for another run. I've been taking him to the Rodeo lately .. or should I say that he takes me. ruclips.net/video/qpg0CJ-HrsA/видео.html Yours is a beautiful video .. wish I had one of my Rock.
Thank you for sharing this. My baby dog is 12 and a half and we just found out she has cancer. This is a beautiful tribute. I'm smiling and crying at the same time. Brandi is a beautiful dog.
Just started bawling, I'm so so so sorry for your loss - I'm gonna go hug my puppy now. I hope you now have a new furry best friend to love and love you back
Brandi was a sweet dog with beautiful, understanding look in her eyes. You gave her a happy life and you should be proud of yourselves, she undoubtedly died happy and loved. I lost my dog a few weeks ago and I know how awful it feels. I miss her so much. I just hope someday I will be able to accept I will never see her again.
Hi Dave. What a beautiful tribute and video to your precious dog Brandi. I completely understand where you're coming from when you speak so beautifully about your best friend. I lost my best friend to terminal cancer on November 9th 2020. It's been a little over 2 months and I haven't made it through a day yet without crying my heart out. My best friend boys named Titan. He was a 120 lb Rottweiler. He was very handsome, extremely intelligent, very funny like a comedian, loyal and faithful, very protective but not vicious at all. He was well-balanced and a good judge of character. His favorite thing to do was to go for a ride in the truck just like your precious Brandi. It was like heaven for him and pure ecstasy when he went for a ride in the truck. We went for a ride almost every single evening. He would dance and prance and bark and literally just about lose his mind when it was time to go for a ride. In the early evening when he realized it was getting close to that time he would Hound me to death until I would finally say, are you ready to go? He just knew that it was getting close to that time. My heart and soul are shattered. My mind body and spirit feel like they are out of balance right now. I know what I signed up for because this is the fourth time I've had to go through this. It doesn't make it any easier though. With extreme grief comes extreme love and loss. There is such a huge void in my life now. I'm a man of deep faith and am grateful for my belief in God and for my wonderful wife to help me through the grieving process. I believe that Titan was a Divine gift from God and I had to give him back to God where you will wait for me to be reunited someday. God bless you Dave and I wish you all the best on the rest of your journey in life.🙏💔🐶
I don't know why this came up tonight but I too lost my best friend in 2010. I loved him like you loved Brandi. It's been 10 years Dave, since we lost our best friends that we loved so much. I spend many a night still crying hoping I'll see him again. I hope Brandi is still alive in your heart. I'm sure you still miss her even more today.
I know how you feel and am sorry for you loss too. I think of Brandi often, especially when her pictures scroll around on my screensaver. Thanks so kindly for your comments. Stay well.
What a sweet story of a very much loved dog, that returned the love back. I am sure she knew she had the best home she could possibly have and that, you can all be grateful for. This brought tears to me and I know what it's like to have them wait for you before they die and it is sad,but it's all because they loved you so very much. Thank God and you and your Family for giving her such a wonderful life.
You'll get through this I know you think you won't but you will and you'll laugh at the memories and be proud of what a lovely beautiful tolerant dog you raised. You can see she was happy by looking into her eyes and just think of it she'll be up in the clouds playing with her friend and watching down on you. She wouldn't want you to be sad and maybe one day she could be watching over her grandpuppies :) She was a lovely dog from what I've seen of her and such a sad loss but don't worry she's no longer suffering and she's no longer in any pain. How sweet that she waited for you to get home that's true love. Best of luck, and I know the feeling xxx
my 15 year old dog died last week. I was terribly surprised - I didn't calculate his age right - I'd adopted him from the shelter but hadn't added the years before me. Thank you for your beautiful tribute to your loving & faithful friend.
I'm so sorry. It's a sad relief to know they are free of their painful, physical bodies, but it still hurts. I've an appointment with a grief counselor next month because I cannot go through this alone. Please keep to heart that you are giving the final gift of love while on this earth: bearing the grief so that he can be free of the suffering. Hugs & prayers to you & everyone here. We've all been blessed to have lived life with such perfect friends. May we all see the light in this sadness.
Such a beautiful dog. I also find it so funny how dogs go grey just like humans. She was brown but towards the end she began to lighten up. The sweetest
Me: "Aww...A cute pup i'm sorry for your lo- RUclips:"There is another cute puppy death." Me:"Awww! I love dog- RUclips:"Another 3 year old dog died today," Me:"OMFG I CAN'T TAKE THIS!"
RIP .... She had a great life with your family. That sad day is the one we all dread, but it's inevitable. Dogs rule ... their loyalty and companionship makes all the hard times worthwhile.
Dave, I'm truly sorry for your tragic loss. Always remember that dogs are Angels that God lets come down and live with us for a while. I hope that time will allow you to come to a place of acceptance. I'm sure Brandi cherished every day she woke up and saw your face. Peace.
Thank you for sharing Brandy's beautiful story. Indeed she was blessed, she lived a good life because you and your family loved her as your own. Your posting provides comfort for those of us who also lost of our best friend. My beloved Sydney also died in my arms a few months ago, so I could relate to your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss! It's very difficult to let our friends go . I lost my Baron my first born of my pack last month. I will always love and miss him! God speed Brandi!❤️
This is such a lovely tribute for your beautiful Brandy. Does my heart good to see that she had a life that was so consistent with love. I was lucky to see my boy who passes at 16 go through all the chapters of life from pup to old boy...hurts terribly when their time comes. She looked like a sweetheart...well done on a happy life Brandy.
You know dogs love you unconditionally, whereas people just let you down regardless. She is a beautiful dog, looks very mischievous and i'm truly sorry for your loss but as long as you remember her in your heart then she will always live on.
A beautiful tribute. You are an inspiration and your relationship with Brandi should be the bar that all dog owners strive to meet. You took such great care of her, and she returned the favor with the love she had for you and your family.
That proves that Dogs DO NOT have to be Put Down because they're old!You sir a great person all Animals need is Love and maybe some meds and they can live their lives full RIP Brandi Cheers
Thank you Dave for Brandi´s lovely story! It reminded me my Sophie, the Golden who died also in my arms at the vets surgery table, I stil remeber my baby and cry for her. Still, I have 4 other daughters, 3 GS and 1 pit. My youngest daughter Elke, has health issues, all her sisters have died already but mine is still with me. Medication and baths with special shampoos. My dogs go with me wherever I go! Bless you folks.
you gave her a great life dave, too many old senior dogs are surrendered on a daily basis at the shelters because the owners dont want to deal with their old dog, they are heartles, you are a real man and a lover of animals
what lucky pets, to have you guys for their owners..you did everything possible to help with her disabilities, make her feel loved and taken care of...
What a beautiful girl and wonderful tribute ❤️ I'm sorry for your loss I'm sure you think of her fondly thank you for taking such good care of her RIP beautiful soul Brandi
Brandi will always be with you, as in spirit she will always remain close by. She now watches over you, as this kind of love never leaves us. You and Brandi will reunite one day. So sorry for your sadness.
Beautiful voice. I'm so sorry for your grief, I imagine it's less painful today, but we never forget our true friends. You should get a new friend, I am in a month. I've weeped for my sweet Pennylane (Golden Retriever) a long time, but we always live long enough to give a life of hapiness to new fluffy doggies.
You sir, make me proud of our armed forces, may I add my tears to yours for close friends and family members gone before us. These loved ones will never truly be forgotten as long as the love they shared in life is remembered.
Thank you for this. My cat was euthanized yesterday and it hurts so much. He would run out to greet me when I came home and was my best buddy. I know letting him go was best for him, but it was the worst for me. Last night I cried myself to sleep with his blanket, holding it as though it were him. I'm grateful I could be there with him as he slipped away from his suffering. You reminded me that I need to focus on our good times together, the love. Thank you for helping my broken heart.
A dog is a family member. And your grief will be similar to losing a family member. Remember that a dog lives in the moment. Unlike you he has no concern for tomorrow. A dog lives one day at a time, and I am sure that you made each of those days special.
Thanks for sharing your story. We said goodbye to our 19 year old best friend 3 years ago 🐶 She is so missed 💞 Thanks again for sharing your sweet story 💟🐕
I didn't cry until you mentioned her waiting for you to get home so she could be with you when she passed; that just made me bawl my eyes out. The same thing happened to my dad... our cat Samantha normally jumped on our laps, but by this time she was too weak and just meowed until my dad picked her up and held her. It was there she fell asleep, and died. She lived 23 human years, bless her heart. I'm sure your Brandi appreciates this video and is waiting patiently to see you again :) Cheers.
one ofthe hard things is seeing his eyes just stay open and never blink again. never chase balls again and never lick you give you their attention again god bless you
They bring so much love and joy into our lives and then they are physically gone but the memories of watching them chase a ball, lick a child;s face,or just wag their tails when you walk through the door makes owning a pet one of the the most beautiful things you can do.
They know don't they? You were blessed to have had such a love. Tugs at the heart strings when i see the pictures of her staring into the distance. In the evening of his life, Dad had a tendency to stare into the distance. R.I.P Brandy
This made me cry! It reminded me of my dog Chester (Pomeranian) who passed away 2 yrs ago. I rescued him from a shelter -he was the best dog ! I miss him !

I am sobbing after watching this. Thank you for being such a blessing for her. What a great life she certainly had.
I'm sorry for your loss!
It's very difficult to let our friends go . I lost my Baron my first born of my pack last month. I will always love and miss him!
God speed Brandi!❤️
Thanks so very kindly. I am sorry of your loss too.
She was one lucky dog. All dogs go to heaven. May we meet them one day
Love, such a beautiful emotion. It was so nice to meet you Brandi❤️
What a beautiful dog. You were lucky to have had her and she was lucky to have you. There's nothing quite like unconditional love.
Brandi is such a beautiful dog!!!!! She had such bright large eyes they look like two stars!
You know dogs love you unconditionally, whereas people just let you down regardless. She is a beautiful dog, looks very mischievous and i'm truly sorry for your loss but as long as you remember her in your heart then she will always live on.
What a beautiful dog.. I have had to deal with this situation twice in my life and I have never cried more in my life.. I'm sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss of a beautiful, loyal, loving family pet. Take heart my friend, she's watching over you and your family. Loyal forever!
She so beautiful, thank you for sharing....Sleep in peace , Brandi.
Thank you Bishop, We appreciate you.
Bless you
folks.
Oh that pain! it never leaves, you just learn to live with it.
So true. Thanks very kindly!
you gave her a great life dave, too many old senior dogs are surrendered on a daily basis at the shelters because the owners dont want to deal with their old dog, they are heartles, you are a real man and a lover of animals
Very sad but that was the way a dog should be able to live. Be proud of that.
Such a little missy. So adorable and special. God bless you and god bless America. From Australia !!!
I smiled and cried while watching this video. I just lost my beloved dearest friend.
Beautiful brandi, she was beautiful. I feel that pain.
Thanks so kindly. I appreciate you!
She had a beautiful soul and I KNOW she will live on forever in heaven.
So Sweet. Thank you for sharing your beautiful friend with all of us.
what lucky pets, to have you guys for their owners..you did everything possible to help with her disabilities, make her feel loved and taken care of...
What a beautiful girl and wonderful tribute ❤️ I'm sorry for your loss I'm sure you think of her fondly thank you for taking such good care of her RIP beautiful soul Brandi
Thanks so kindly. I appreciate you. God Bless.
This is a tough one - We always want them to live as long as we live and DAMN! It hurts when they leave us - ❤️😩
You are so right. Thanks so kindly. We appreciate you.
Brandi will always be with you, as in spirit she will always remain close by.
She now watches over you, as this kind of love never leaves us. You and Brandi will
reunite one day.
Beautiful story in a sad way. Thank you for sharing and a nice tribute to your pet. So sorry for your loss.
I have a 3 year old Golden Retriever and now I don't want him to get old and die!!! Love you sooooo much Sonny!
I'm so sorry. I can hear the heartbreak in your voice. This was truly an amazing bond.
A dog is a family member. And your grief will be similar to losing a family member. Remember that a dog lives in the moment. Unlike you he has no concern for tomorrow. A dog lives one day at a time, and I am sure that you made each of those days special.
Very well said. Thanks so kindly for your words of wisdom. Stay well and God Bless.
That was the most sweetest heart felt video Ive seen.. Im sorry for you guys loss.. She was a beautiful dog! May she rest in peace!
I type this in without looking at the other comments:
Just tremendous. All I can say is wow....both the pet and masters were very, very lucky. Thanks.
What a lovely tribute to your pal Brandi. I am so sorry for your loss but it looks like she had a wonderful life with you.
Thanks for sharing your story. We said goodbye to our 19 year old best friend 3 years ago 🐶 She is so missed 💞 Thanks again for sharing your sweet story 💟🐕
I feel you, and I am so sorry. My little puppy had died in my hands when she got ran over. Again, I am so sorry.
Me two D:
Bet she gave u all a ton of love! Wat a sweet heart.......
She did. Thanks so kindly. I appreciate you.
I believe we all will all meet up with and love what we loved in this life, in the next life. Can you imagine that beautiful day!
Beatiful dog😪❤️😪❤️😪😪😪❤️
One of our best for sure. Thanks so kindly.
I just lost my four legged buddy a month ago I fill your pain it hurts to loose a buddy so close to your hart
I am so sorry to hear that also. Thanks so kindly and be well.
one ofthe hard things is seeing his eyes just stay open and never blink again. never chase balls again and never lick you give you their attention again god bless you
A beautiful tribute of Brandi, thanks for sharing.
Thanks very kindly!
They bring so much love and joy into our lives and then they are physically gone but the memories of watching them chase a ball, lick a child;s face,or just wag their tails when you walk through the door makes owning a pet one of the the most beautiful things you can do.
Beautiful tribute to a beautiful dog and best friend.
They know don't they? You were blessed to have had such a love.
Tugs at the heart strings when i see the pictures of her staring into the distance. In the evening of his life, Dad had a tendency to stare into the distance.
R.I.P Brandy
this made me cry like a little girl.. its amazing howmuch animals can touch our lives.
Such a magnificent baby.....RIP LIL GIRL...
This made me cry! It reminded me of my dog Chester (Pomeranian) who passed away 2 yrs ago. I rescued him from a shelter -he was the best dog ! I miss him !
Beautiful tribute to your friend. It is so hard to lose them, but sweet memories.
