The 360 Degree Music Experience was an American band that performed both traditional and experimental jazz. Active during the 1970s and '80s, the group was initially co-led by drummer Beaver Harris and the pianist Dave Burrell. After Burell left the group, pianist Don Pullen replaced him. Several other notable musicians were members of the band at one time or another, including Hamiet Bluiett, Cameron Brown, Ron Carter, Ricky Ford, Jimmy Garrison, Grachan Moncur III, Titos Sompa, and Buster Williams among others. The group released two albums for BMG: From Ragtime to No Time and A Well Kept Secret - from Wikipedia Видеоклипы
Part Two includes Moncur's tune "The Twins" and Part Three includes his composition "Blues for Donald Duck."
Wow, rare footage of Grachan, amazing!
Thanks for posting. Awesome performance footage, great sound. Wonderful to see this great band at one of its heights. Beaver Harris is a too often forgotten master drummer and unique bandleader. Mr. Moncur was a genius, a true original too often neglected. RIP
Damn, what a gem. Thank you for sharing.
Have both these LPs but this is a great addition. Thanks so much for posting. Track 1 is New Africa
This is incredible
Beautiful
Love it, Thanks! Honest and personalized...
Great days
buzzy on vocals - buzzy who?
thx for memories
Bartholomew Grey. Hardly any information on him. He was the narrator on Archie Shepp's Attica Blues 1972. He was also on a Shepp Soul Note album and a Abby Lincoln recording from the early eighties.
does anybody know what kind of embouchure Grachan plays?
I think you're asking about his mouthpiece. It looks like plastic, with a metal shank, but I'm not sure. Plastic is good if you're playing in freezing conditions. The mouthpiece won't freeze to your lips. Plastic isn't very resonant. Could be bone, or ivory too.
Buzzy? Buzzy is not here, man!....
Buzzy came in at the 15:43 minute mark.
