I'm subscribing right the fuck now. Kid rocking some early heavy Queen shit on the bass, with tabs and all??? Count me the fuck in! John Deacon fucking rocks forever, and especially the bass stuff from the 70's is deeeelicious. When the lad was playing something simple, you get Another One Bites the Dust and Under Pressure, when he gets fancy, you get "The Millionaire Waltz" (among other pieces where he is pretty much playing counterpoint bass like nobody's business. And the lad was a rockstar, hit songwriter, badass bassist... and pretty much retired at 40 years of age and does not speak to the press much (if at all) and lives a quiet private life. For all I care, mr FrostBass, keep at it, 'cause it not so many getting into this stuff and it is a joy to challenge myself on the bass with your help. Extra props for putting the tabs up so they won't be covered by the ad banners. And the bass does sound good even with shitty laptop speakers. With the loudspeakers or headphones, this stuff gives it some nice extra punch to the track. And if you've got some bass nerdy shit about Deacon's playing you've figured out when learning the tunes, by all means share with us.
I saw Queen a couple of dozen times over 12 years.....In fact, yesterday, me and my brother were just calculating how many times he went and we think he did maybe 10. The one thing that you immediately realised when you went to a Queen gig, was how massively important John was in the live act....with Roger of course. I remember at Hyde Park in 76 his new Musicman Stingray Bass came across that park like thunder. I had never seen one before because they were new, of course. I have a couple of them now. But you really couldn't go to a Queen gig and leave it at the end not understanding how absolutely brilliant John was......He and Roger carried the show. They laid down the canvass for Freddie and Brian to paint on. As to this bassline....it's great. Go look at the Earl's Court 1977 version which was played on the Musicman Stingray......excellent. As Freddie once said about playing live.... "It's okay so long as I can hear John, then I know where we are." John wasn't just a great bass player he was an all around good guitarist, a piano player and a proficient drummer too.
I grew up loving Queen. I've always had trouble distinguishing bass from guitar. I did not give John the credit he deserved. Man, he was a good bassist. Thank-you for giving me some appreciation for his talent. You are very gifted. John is very under-rated!
This is still one of my fave vids on youtube. I literally could play along to this ALL DAY LONG 😁 Thanks for all your awesome Queen bass vids. Btw, it's awesome to see a young guy like you being so much into the wonderful music of Queen 👍
Update: Sorry I haven't uploaded in over a month, being honest, in the lap of the gods... revisited is a quite boring song to tab out, I have it about halfway done... But I've been busy with other personal projects I'm sure you guys would be excited to hear! EDIT: Also note, my next video will be Brighton Rock! Out in a few days ;)
Great job! That's first. Second.. tried to read notes, seamed weird... Then took my f..g glasses and found to myself. There are four lines for bass players to easy get it😂
8:02 I’m the only person who plays bass in my class and we were making our own songs in our music lessons, I was needed by a lot of people to do the bass part for their songs and so many people had made these mad bass lines played at a speed like that 😭 like I’m sorry but I can’t do that and still play well, please god slow it down a little 💀
hey, thanks for the tutorials, i’ve actually used some of them to play in videos i just uploaded to my new channel, if you have time i’d love for you to check it out !!
Wait why is it on the bass solo your plucking the A string but clearly your fingers are on the D string yet its still playing normally? That's pretty suspicious
@@frostmusicofficial sorry if I made it seem like I was insulting you, you sounded great it just looked odd, sorry if I made it seem that way, you sound great, I'm just basing it off what I'm seeing

Hey man nice video but what do u use to record like what’s your DI and recording software?
I use a Scarlett solo audio interface, record into cakewalk for my DAW, after recording I do some EQ and compression.
