LSA ANACONDA, IRAQ 2005 - 2006. Worked next to the burn pit. Everytime you took a breath, it burned your mouth and nasal passages. Our offices and warehouses were covered with ash everyday. When I returned and went to the VA for medical help for neuropathy pain and sinus issues, a MEDICAL RESIDENT told me that there's no evidence my issues were attributed to my deployment. It was never placed in my record. How insulting!
My blessing to all that served and espoused, that said Uncle Sam has been having the military burn items (building materials, trash, pallets, plastics, fuel waste) and human waste for some time. From my first field exercise in 84 to my last tour in Afghanistan in 2006. While troops in combat zones deserve benefits, so many exposed that will and have slipped through the cracks
All our plastic water bottles were on pallets in the sun all day everyday Tasted exactly like liquid plastic and tried to resort to drinking melted ice from the ice truck when it was full
@@HillAndPonton I was diagnosed with sleep apnea during enlistment and started receiving 50% for it in 09, and 10% for right knee. Recently I’ve been given 70% for ptsd and I am curious if I can be higher than 90% if I link my sleep apnea and ptsd, and being me up to 100 P and T
I worked in the burn pit in Iraq. Worked with locals dealing with trash and construction. I got a stack full of medical paperwork. I didn't understand how bad the VA was until I experienced myself. Great session!
I got a letter from the Department of the Army about a year after I left the military saying that my unit was in the plume pit of burning chemical weapons and that I shouldn`t worry about my health because it's unlikely that I would be affected.
In 1982 put in claim for my Knee VA. Gave me 0% , but they say that I hurt my know in army so in 2004 I have surgery on my left ,TKR so after TKR they gave me 30%, But why, VA. didn't give me retro pay. Why don't get. why VA. administration didn't give back pay effective date was in 1982 If you can explain why. Thank You.
I was in the first gulf war and my unit always had to get rid of everything but no one talks about the 1 gulf war burn pits are i just haven't found anything

Hi Josh, we are sorry to hear that you are struggling. "Our website states "No illnesses are presumptive to burn pit exposure, although many of us are trying to change that." I have linked the entire article here. Hopefully you will find this helpful www.hillandponton.com/burn-pits-exposure-what-now/
The VA has all the burn pit info and where they were.....but they play games with veterans to sometimes prove it...don't be discouraged..file your claims with medical evidence of your conditions and any info you have..good luck
It’s kinda of a catch 22, if you file and you have a Dotor day you have a condition that is direct cause of burn pits, Buddy letters, even use you spouse to right a letter, cause who knows better than a spouse, and you get denied, then you have no more prof. If you file without all these you are gambling and wishing for a result that should not come with lack of evidence. So, don’t go and file a claim, get all the evidence then file, if your denied, you tried.

Presumptive claims kicked in August of 2021 going back to 1st gulf war with documentation. Pulmonary function tests and that sort of thing also helps.

I was in Iraq 2003-2004. 18 months less than 200 years away, I really think sleeping was a huge problem

If you were at any FOB for more than a day and had to to take a shit in a wag bag , you had to take a hike to the burn pit to throw the bag out.
I was in Kandahar Afghanistan 2005-06 and Al Taquaddum Iraq 2009. Both had huge burn pits. I went to them may times to burn waste.

I’m having weight issues losing weight stiffness and bladder problems
I was given a memo stating that I was on a base with a burn pit. I will have to look for it now. I was posted in Shindand and Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Many Vietnam vets merely just took a military hop to phillipines or Guam got benefits just for stepping off the plane & on to the soil
I was in Shindand from July 2010 to June 2011.
