You've said that you can have rs3 for a price of golf r. I just bought Golf 7r with full option (without akrapovic) and it costs around 45k euros, the cheapest Audi rate, without anything inside starts with 65k euros.

very late comment.. but i agree with you my goal is to purchase a Golf R but then do an RS3 engine swap just for the growl of that inline 5.

What impressed me most in the video was the engine sound! Sounds great, doesn't sound boring like a 4 cyl often do :-P . Does it have the akrapovic exhaust he was talking about that dealer can install?

Beautiful car black on black is really cool Handel well but it’s very expensive you can get an Audi A4 for that price it’s sad 😞 hopefully vw will fix the price on newer generation

i have a golf r 7.5, took delivery last thursday. Just wondering does the car shift slow without giving a lot of gas? Mine takes a whole 1~2seconds to shift when im not giving it gas (less than half way through the gas pedal in race mode)
Another reviewer said the steering has no feel. True or not.

ben heel tevreden van mijn golf 7 r manual (pre facelift). Jammer dat de volgende generatie waarschijnlijk niet meer wordt aangeboden met een handbak en 3 deurs zoals ik heb.
Hoe snel zit je op de 100? Met handbak R
5.1 volgens de fabriek. versnellingen zijn wel erg kort dus je moet perfect kunnen schakelen. heb vroeger een gtd gehad maar moet zeggen dat de r toch een andere liga is

I am hoping VW engineers finally updates the dated manual to 7 speeds and faster shifting and launch control and possibly add new tech that allows acceleration and fuel delivery during gear changes and thus equalling the dsg in acceleration no lift throttle
It can be done but there is so much more profit in the dsg initial cost maintenance repair and replacement so no company is even trying and it would be a game changer giving the lighter weight and higher top speed of manuals

That was the pre facelift RS3, the new facelifted RS3 is 80kg lighter with 400bhp. It will definitely be faster than Golf R this time around if a comparison was made around a track.

1st time being so early 😂
i rather drive my Cupra 300 :) same engine same power but a bit lighter and faster on the Autobahn ok not so good 0-100 cause it has no awd but i did i dont need that.
i´m fine with those 300 hp. I will do exhaust, wheels and maybe lower the car a bit with springs thats all dont need more power
this will take time, maybe in the next 2 or 3 years i will do this changes. First i do i exhaust
I'd rather have an M140i, none of it's competitors have an inline-6 or RWD layout...
Golf R is only good at launch.... M140i pisses on the R every time. My M135i was quicker than the R and the M140 is another level with that B58. From a roll the R has no chance!!!!!

I just got my golf r and It’s a much smoother drive than the m140i having sat in the passenger and taken it out for a test drive it’s a horrible drive feels very stiff saying that though the m140i sounds better but the r is a daily drive you can drive it all day and feel like it’s a normal car

Why would you want a rwd hatchback? Hatchbacks are fun when they're either fwd or awd just like they're meant to be. You have probably never driven one...

I don't like the hatchback body style on these. I'd rather have a 2018 V-6 Camaro.
Driving 100 in a 70. I'm not impressed.
Has no guts after 60-70 mph. Ran one a few different times in my Q50s 3.7 and he was pissed as all hell that he couldn't pull on me, even when I'd give him the hit or lead, I'd just pull him in. I was really expecting more from it to be honest and the outcome to be the opposite, but NOPE!
