Thank you! Excellent job with the explanation and the visual correlation plus second angle with flashlighted example and good camera angle! Clear as day, well done to both of you.
Worked like a charm. Helped a friend get front side fender off scrap yard. hood was left closed by last person. Front bumper already removed. Reached in from top right gap fron hood/bash bar to locate and unlatch hood
Thanks for posting this video! Put a new radiator in an 03 Jetta. Checked the hood cable before I closed it, but i didnt have the cable end thoroughly attached. This video saved me a lot of aggravation. Thanks again! 2003 Jetta 2.0 L 177,547 miles, original owner.
My car battery was dead and the all the mechanical locks were long gone too. This was the only non-destructive way in to charge the battery and open the doors. Thanks bros!
I was in the same situation until half an hour ago, all the doors locked and no power at all, after like an hour of RUclips on videos like " how to open a car door" I found this video, I wasn't that confident, but in less than 30 seconds hood was opened, luckily dead battery wasn't my problem just some loose contacts. My MK4 is lowered, I’m glad the bumper was off when the hood got stuck or it would’ve been a lot more tricky! But this worked great for me, thank you! :)
Hey, your video was superb! Saved me a lot of work and/or metal cutting. I am glad my right arm isn’t any thicker! Otherwise, I’d never be able to get access to that lever. Thx!!!

Great help, got me in the right direction. In my case, Polo 2010 UK, there was no way to get to the catch. All surrounded in plastic. Once under the car I removed the 2 bolts, t30, holding the catch. That popped the bonnet. then 2 10mm bolts to release the bonnet from the catch and open. problem was where the 2 cables meet the coupler had broken. Great security design but terrible for service ... Thanks for the pointers.
