  • I was asked to do a follow up to my Pond Shield Application video. It was approximately 18 months ago that I did it.
I must say that I'm very pleased with the results and I can recommend this product 100%
I also go over the filtration system I made that has given me excellent results.
All the products I used are linked below.
Thank you so very very much for watching!

    Hey thanks for the update!
Im really glad to hear the pond shield is holding up for ya!
I was gonna mount my filtration on the outside because my freezer is not near as big as yours and try to run all the piping down below at the bottom just under where i sit!
Not sure if i should try and get the discharge of pump to run to the top like you did, it does make sense but again I’m limited on space!
My cold plunge will be outdoors next to my hot tub so thats kind of nice:)
    Cant wait to get started
Thanks again for the update now im even more motivated!

I have a hot tub and an infrared sauna and they work well with the cold plunge. The hot and cold contrast is really invigorating. Glad I can help💯✊

@@edwardsfamilyworkshopwell i finally got all the prep work done on my deep freezer applied first coat! I was reading on the directions that a second coat was only needed for rough surfaces. I waited 8 hours and i laid the freezer on its side and decided to do a second coat on the sides because the bottom was thick enough. I rotated and did all sides like that
The second coat on the sides was money!
I hope to be filling it up this weekend i opted out of hard piping and will be adding a marine submersible filter and submersible UV filter along with other things
Thanks for the videos and advise!

Great stuff. How long between first coat and second coat?

I'm also a DIY'er and find it hard to spend so much money on something that I can make. My question is, what amount of Pond Shield did you use for the 2 coats in your cold plunge? Thanks for making this video!

@@f8thntheos I bought 2 1.5 quart kits. I used 1 whole kit and a small portion of the other. In hindsight, having the extra stuff available I should have put on another coat.

@@mhboxingmikke3437 a lot of people are using truck bed liners like Rhino liners or Line-X. Those options are significantly more expensive and involve bringing the chest freezer to the shop. The other thing you could do is look for counter top epoxy resin products that are thicker than normal resins. I learned a lot from this Facebook group
