I love how there is an entire sub-genre of vampires in Elder Scrolls! Skyrim is still my first game with the franchise but I return to it annually for the vampire gameplay. All the lore, characters, and artifacts completely support a full playthrough as a vampire and makes the storylines more interesting playing an undead character posing as a Nord hero. Plus it feels like a slow consolidation of power for the vampires, convincing most of the Companions to relinquish their werewolf form, eliminating the Silver Hand, using Auriel’s Bow to block out the sun during the Civil War, assassinating the Emperor to strengthen vampiric reign over Skyrim. By the time I’m nearly done with all the main quests I feel like Emperor Palpatine slowly raising a new empire out of the brewing political desperation. In which by the time Skyrim is nearly conquered by vampires I’m still heralded as a hero.
I think you will really like my next video! I'm done with the script and doing audio at the moment but it's on the werecreatures in Tamriel such as werewolves and we will dive a little into how the Nords perceive them. We even discuss the Companions as well!
Blotting out the sun is the perfect way to make you enemy no1 to all life. Leave the sun alone if you want to keep your power. Take example of vampires of the world of darkness
When I was in high-school me and my friends wrote a script for what ES6 could be, and we had the Last Dragonborn as the main villain of the game, and you the player would be their direct child. In this script the Last Dragonborn was a vampire who single handedly ended the Civil War in Skyrim by killing both General Talius and Ulfric Stormcloak and taking the spot as Highking for himself by subjugation and power. The corruption of the last db happened due to him spending so much time as a vampire and because he spent a lot of time within the halls of Apocrypha so he basically went mad with power. The beginning of the script basically had Aringar the last Greybeard (Dragonborn killed the rest and took the throat of the world as his own) raising the player character from a baby and then it basically starts with your father the Dragonborn burning down your cottage after crushing Aringars throat with one hand and tossing him to the side for not telling him where his child is at where you'd be hiding. The first game play sequence would basically be a stealth sequence where you'd escape from your father. The plot of the script was basically that you would have two paths to go toward for the end of the game, destroying your father and ending the Dragonborns forever or by joining your father in his world conquest. During this game the Thalmor would be in the process of getting resources to fight against the Last Dragonborn because not only did he conquer Skyrim but would have conquered Cyrodil claiming the throne as rightfully his due to him being the Dragonborn, and then conquering Highrock, Hammerfell and even Orsinium. All in all it was basically just a fanfic of what me and my friends thought would happen if the Last Dragonborn went bad guy, which would be likely due to how much power the Last Dragonborn can get, not only could he claim most of the Daedric artifacts all for himself, but he could become a powerful Vampire Lord who beat Harkon who lore wise is a very powerful vampire, killing Miraak, along with the last dragonborn being capable of obtaining all of the Black Books of Apocrypha, all that in addition to using the Thu'um better than every other Dragonborn to have ever lived.
This was very informative and detailed. I've been role-playing a vampire knight who despises the gift and refuses to feed...which have been a problem in towns and cities lol but also allows me to play a powerful blood starved maniac.
Am i going tp watch ANOTHER 40 min video about skyrim? Of course I am!! These are my comfort videos!! Thank you for your hard work and quality content ❤
The vampires in Morrowind were the creepiest imo.. The face but also the voice distortion. I'd go into random tombs or ruins and would head their scream and freak out and immediately head to an exit lmao
Wow! I love vampire lore in general, and Skyrim is my favorite game! This is excellently put together! Thank you for all the time and effort it took to create this video! I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thank you for this info on Vampires. I will make sure that my brothers and sisters in the Dawnguard also see this so we can smite the evil bloodsuckers more efficiently
this was amazing to watch and very detailed and accurate lore video. There are many TES videoes on vampires but as a lore freak I think you and Lady of the Scrolls did the best job on this topic!
Nice vid. I like the images you included in the vid too. I personally am not a fan of some of the things they did with vampires in ESO like the different enemy types (e.g. blood knights, blood fiend lore) because they needed to fit in multiple enemy types since it's an MMO, and the appearance of blood scions. I feel like those additions were motivated more by facilitating gamplay in an MMO over story/atmosphere reasons. I'm keen to see what they do with vampire lore in Elder Scrolls 6 and hope they don't let gameplay reasons/mechanics compromise the "spirit" of vampire lore in the franchise.
Glad you enjoyed. It’s tough because I want to cover all the lore and unfortunately ESO is part of that and it’s definitely the least inspired of Bethesda’s creative ability. But like you said with it being an MMO its hard to expect the same quality so I can’t imagine them doing the same with elder scrolls 6 or at least would hope not.
"Scratch or bite". Me: Battles Vampire without getting struck to avoid vampiric disease. Catches disease anyway because Life Drain vampiric spell. :insert wtf meme:
Super late but since the fate of a dead vampire’s soul is not as concrete as werewolves, obviously if the vampire directly worshipping Bal will go to Cold Harbor, those who worship Nocturne would logically go to Evergloam. What happens with someone who was turned by one of the illnesses? Do they go to Bal by default? Or do they go to their destined afterlife/return to Aetherius? What about someone cursed with Vampirism by a powerful wizard or artifact that aren’t really affiliated with a Daedra?
Great video. Im hopeful for TES VI, imagine if we could be given multiple options, you could become a vampire but your ultimate form and strengths and weaknesses depend on the original strain, your race, maybe even the daedric prince you follow. Hoping for too much, maybe, but i am hopeful after seeing so many options available in starfield.
I’m very excited to see what happens with the current technology we have since getting Skyrim way back in the day. Hopefully you can join different vampire factions based off the things you mentioned.
I'm now a vampire in Skyrim and I am currently living with hert and her husband and we go hunting for humans my daughter is a vampire and so is Lydia and we love it so happy together be your blood is lifting me higher and higher ❤️💪💥💥💪🦹💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

I would hope so. Although they've watered down some things over time, as the series has progressed the developers have fleshed out vampires more so there is certainly hope.
This video was great. Amazing stuff. I do have a tip for you. Idk if you "fixed" this in your videos after this one but you need to work on your narration. You speak very clearly which is great but also very flat. You have a rhythm to it it's just not a good one. Other than that, the video is great.

The vampire lore is great but the vampires in Skyrim are a joke. Not once have I actually seen them bite anyone or anything. And what’s this running around in daylight bullshit. I think they are a waste of time along with the werewolves.
@@BloodMoonInstitute I feel like ESO did the Gray Host and Rada al-Saran storyline pretty well. I really like his character and motivations. They made him a significant threat and a nuanced villain while keeping him distinct from Harkon, without diminishing Harkon's significance and threat-level.
