I am a full time zine maker, been doing it for 9 years and I still love it, I loved watching this video, it’s so nice to find another zine maker, can’t wait to see what else you create.
Love the zine and loved this vlog! I really want to make a zine of my own now, with the theme of life here in Georgia. Also, I was so happy when I saw that you were watching Anthony Bourdain's Georgia episode, love that one! ❤
Aw thank you so much Eleonora, you're too good to me! You would love Scotland I'm sure, let me know if you're planning a visit, we would love to see you again xxxx
It was so lovely watching you work on your second zine. I bought your first one and I love it. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of your new one, when it’s available xx
It's called freelancer brain! I'm the same way, when I set deadlines for my own personal projects, I find I'm able to get stuff done accordingly as opposed to being very loose and general with what I want to make and doing it over a period of time. Years of training yourself to meet deadlines starts to line up with how you get stuff done in your life outside of work. A bit frustrating, but effective I guess. 😅
Anxiety induced productivity. ;) Very common also with people who have problems with executive functioning or procrastination. Looking into ADHD and/or autism might be interesting (if you haven’t already).
I saw JARRITOS and I felt so happy, I'm Mexican and it's nice to see that kind of stuff 💖💖💖 I also love to watch this kind of videos of you making art 💖💖💖
Holly, this is the first time I've seen your natural hair color in a video! Maybe I just haven't been paying attention... Anyway, nice video - I love it when you make and talk about zines!
I know I SHOULD ask for this for Christmas but I have the fear that all my presents have been bought and I kind of want this now 😭I have dropped some heavy hints :P Also, the shots you got of the mainland are GORGEOUS, gosh I love the last of autumn clinging on there. All the love and support with your current heating problems (saw the previous video), hope things are manageable for you 💜
Oh I wish I could order it! Right now Canada Post is on indefinite strike. It seems it's not resolving soon. It always amazes me how Jarritos is everywhere! 😃
@@hollyexley I don't know how I feel about it. Usually, I support workers but this one is difficult because most tiny businesses will be horribly affected during the holidays. The large corporations rely on UPS, FEDEX and the like. Plus many charities still receive donations by mail, and people on welfare also receive their checks by mail. I believe they are asking for an increase of 24% which is unheard of. They are paid well as federal employees with benefits nobody else has. Anyway, I had to stop my plans for December because I certainly can't mail 12 dollar products that cost 20 bucks to ship with another courrier. :(
That’s a rather complicated set of folds and cuts! I’m surprised your printer was even considering doing all of it. Especially for a smaller run like this. And it sounds like they had to help with laying out the printing data files according to what you wanted to do. So more overhead hours for them on a rather small printing job. Usually printers would just expect to get the data delivered all ready to print, fold and cut with the needed markings put in on separate layers. Don’t want to make you feel bad, just putting it into perspective! Would be surprised if you find a printer being able to do all that additional folding and cutting plus client back and forth for an affordable price on a small print run. But fingers crossed for next time!
Oh no, I'm doing all the folding myself. I supplied two files, the front and back of the sheet, and the printer will be doing 3 cut lines with the cut guides I provided.

Thank you!
Lovely to see the process behind your zine. I found your island insights so interesting as I’d love to live somewhere so quiet and community focused 🧡
You should sell some of the scenic paintings as prints one day, I would buy them!
Can't wait to see it in person, it looks beautiful 🎉
Just ordered the zine, can't wait to get it! Thanks Holly!
Thank you so much Cosmin! 🥲 You have such a cool name, I really like it

This is so true! Very good point. I hate to admit it, but deadlines are good things!

Oh no! I hope the workers are able to reach a deal, bloody greedy capitalist class making all our lives more difficult.

Could I ask what watercolour paper you use please, Holly? The page of bird heads was beautiful!
Thank you ! I use Cass Art Cold Press watercolour pads
