It's about time that they came out with a real jeep love the looks of it
This ESC/RC combo can be tuned with the Hobbywing 1080 program card and helps a ton! More punch, selectable Bec,etc.
Ever since Axial came out with the original SCX10, and got their Jeep license, I was always hoping they would come out with a classic CJ. Sure, it's another Jeep, but unlike the countless JK offerings between Axial, and JK bodies from Pro-Line, the only other time I've seen anything that's a CJ was the vintage Pro-Line CJ8 Scrambler body, which has long since been discontinued. The CJ is a classic, is a Jeep that hasn't been overdone, and is definitely on my must buy list.
I bet this thing will be a hot seller, and I'm looking forward to all the hop up parts, and accessories, like custom bumpers, wheels, and other cool items for this rig. Now all Axial needs to do is make driver figures for the CJ7. That would be awesome.
As an old 1:1 TJ owner I'm saving my allowance for one of these. Your driving skills and factual comments definitely sold me. Thanks for the great review!
Not a Jeep guy but very very nice job Axial. This is exactly what I thought RC crawling could be ! 💯👍👍
My first ever vehicle in 1996 was a 78 CJ-7. I miss that thing so much. Drove it to high school.
@@dieseldabz7104 That was one helluva story. I appreciate you sharing it.
I gotta say, your review is the best so far. I’ve seen all the other ones and they glossed over so much of the chassis. You were the only one to show the underside of the body, the back of the grille, and the fact that there appears to be no room for a winch (unless the Early Bronco bumper mount will work). Also loved the snow shower in the running video. Lovely. ❄️ Keep up the good work. 👍
Nice work with the video!
I appreciate that you show trucks at 'normal' video speed. Slow-motion looks amazing, but it makes suspension look far better than it'll be for us when we're driving. And letting us hear the drivetrain noise is great, too; some are too noisy to tolerate. Thank you!
Great video Greg, i have yet to buy an Axial SCX10 for my collection but after watching this my mind is made, I have always loved the CJ7 since i was a young lad, Top job Axial 👌🏼
Great review! It looks absolutely gorgeous, the tires seem great, beefy links are a plus, dig outta the box is cool and the straight axles are the right choice! My only negatives are the 2 in 1 receiver/ESC, the P.I.T.A. body mounting and the rather steep price.
Agree on the body clicks, they are a pain. Great video and review.
This thing is awesome. Glad to see it has factory lights installed. I looked at the description and it did not mention it came with lights. But I could have overlooked it and they did list it.
What great rig! Almost a carbon copy of my old CJ! I love it!
I just got mine today. Looking forward to trying it out! I hope I have better luck with this one than I did with the speed control on my SCX 10.3 gladiator. The speed control on that unit decided to fault during a crawl on the Bulls head bridge in Kent, Connecticut.
Nice review, Greg! I always tune into your channel first for a quality review of a new release. I think this CJ looks great. Very reminiscent of their early Bronco in terms of body construction and scale detail. I do think the price is a little on the high side, but I'm always excited to see a new SCX10 rig.
Same truck just different body.
I put my phone in the CJ7 and got some awesome driver perspective of SCX 10.3 CJ7. This rig is awesome!!
Nice review and an absolutely awesome looking new crawler from Axial.
Awesome review ! I can see you truly loved this Jeep. GarbageMans2wheels approves this video.
Always love your detailed reviews. Looks great!
I will definitely pick this up. I love the old CJs.
My white spoke ssd’s bead locks wrapped in nicely scrubbed in bfgKralwers g8 compound look great on the red CJ-7. Beautiful beautiful rig. I will have this 😅
That is a unique driver figure but yes you need around 7 inches for that. This jeep looks so good. Now I want to trail with my trx4 Jeep
This is such an awesome looking rig !
One of these are now at the top of my wish list!
The best RC cars.
Awesome looking jeep ,I was going to buy a Traxxas defender but this Axial steels the show and ile definitely be going for this one .Thanks for sharing you review ...Harry
Can’t wait to get mine and the place you tested it out looks like a great place to crawl
Beautiful jeep cj7 from Axial. i pre ordered mine this morning. Also, that driver looks perfect for it.
Great review as always Greg, what a nice looking Jeep 😊
Great location and review!
I really like portals when its appropriate. But not on an old CJ7. Glad they went with straight axle. This things looks 8th scale honestly. The interior looks like it is the same width as the 2.2 wraith interior. The SCXIII platform is great. Nice to see more body options.
One of the other reviews said it's about 1/7.5 scale, so even bigger.
Yup not 1:10 like website says. It is a big boy 1/7 scale.
I'm not even into crawlers and trail trucks like that but this is nice!
I’ve got that one and love it just barely got it can’t wait to try it on the rocks
I must say they kinda missed something big on the interior. The gauges. With the gauge cluster being old school is easy to duplicate in a more realistic way. They should have made a small life like gauge cluster with a clear plastic cover over it. That would have been epic!! Maybe in the gen 2 version they will. Other then that small detail they nailed it. I will have to grab one eventually.
I had an '85 CJ... from Tandy (Radio Shack), lol
Nice video and big thanks for the heads up about same old transmission clicking issue 😂
That rig is cool!
That clicking might be the dig servo not completely locking in the t case when I got my 10 3 JL I would put the rear in neutral or not unlock it
Just lovely...I can stay in the spot all day and just rock crawl and climb with my trucks. I don't want this Axial it looks nice, I already have a TRX4 Defender changed in to a Jeep Rubicon body.
Would you suggest a smaller size shock or is the stock shocks just right
Nice. Not a jeep guy, but i like thr CJ7.
I drove a CJ7 once-- it was fun
Heck yeah will go great with my 86 cj7 can’t wait
Wonder if they will offer a body to upgrade the existing Early Bronco SCX10iii ?
I like the details on the bodies nowadays
Way cool. Exactly what it should be. I'm gonna have to get one.
They are worth it trust me😊
Man, this rig is beautiful. BUT... It needs to be on leaf springs!!! LOL I really want that red one.
Looks awesome! Thanks for the detailed review Greg! How’s a compound on the tires compared to vanquish falken m/t tires?
The tire compound is soft, but not sticky like Vanquish. Still, I like how this tire performed, even in the cold.
Good to know thank you 👍🏽👍🏽… Merry X’mas!!
Damn! Those tires looooook good!
Fantastic and thanks for sharing. How does this feel as compared the the axial early bronco?Looks the same size.
Oooooooh my shenanigans!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also not a jeep guy here but if I was to get one, this one would be it. I have early ford bronco and like those straight axles.
It's worth the money just also need tobs of upgrades to keep her planted firmly on the ground 😊
Where are you filming this test drive? Beautiful area. Please share. Thank you.
That’s Lovers Leap state park in New Milford, CT
The tags are expired on the plate. April 2022 for oregon and June of 2022 for Utah. 😊 I need a discount! Lol
Brother that is an amazing place🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ordering one this week.
Very cool rig and great review of this "new release". I just wish that I could actually buy it when the video comes out because it's just a pre-order right now with no ETA. As a result I'm going to hang tight until stock gets in--I am not a fan of pre-ordering something, paying for it with no ETA of delivery. Hopefully I won't forget about it or honestly sometimes just move on to something else in the meanwhile.
It's Wirth the wait trust me 😊
Such an amazing looking rig ❤ they nailed it
Beautiful video of an amazing RC
Do the lights cast enough lighting for night time trail runs?
now Axial is not joking anymore, I mean look at this truck, super realistic rc truck
Awesome review.. wow what a great truck 😊 Pete
Very cool RC looks amazing
Nice realistic jeep crawler 🛻👍
Yeah , this is nice .
Beautiful
It's nice 😊
My dig sticks like that too on my scx10 III jeep
You put shipwreck back in there sir 😂. (He’s the figure)
Are they still sticking with the 23T servo hopefully not!
Great... there goes my paycheck lol
Will this body be sold separately? To fit my original scx10iii jlu chasis?
I hope so!
GOD NOT ANOTHER JEEP I CAN'T EVEN
Lol. Are you one of those Dodge guys? Why can’t we get a nice 1998 Durango, or something, bro!? \s
@@rcstories_ca it’s a joke. 😉
@@scalebuildersguild I know! I was going to make the same joke on your review, but I didn’t want to trigger people. 😂
@@rcstories_ca hahahaha
The dig setup has been problematic on my 10.3 early Bronco since I got it. I can’t use it or the whole transmission locks up.
Did you call tech support?
JESUS CHRIST! That's a nice Jeep.
Very cool 😎 nice review 👍
Really wanted to see it right next to the 10.3 JLU Wrangler
Yeah, I messed up there. Totally had it in the plans and then… brain fart.
@@rcdriver Haha all good man, I’ve got a feeling this Cj7 is gonna be like the FMS Mashigan.. which is basically a 1/8
Really nice!
Hmm maybe this might be the one that draws me back into RC?
It will I just love mine😊
Man I gotta have this.Did they give a release date?
I want to see the SCX10.3 Early Bronco Vs SCX10.3 CJ7 Jeep
Mmm I thought I was done buying rc crawlers once I finished my original scx build. Not a huge fan of the slow speed, though, by the looks of it. May need to change it out for a Tekin esc and motor
I take it back. Lol I was wondering if a 9.25 inch driver fits inside?
I'd love a 2 door JL Rubicon.
Does this have an adjustable engine break?
nice video
can i use tire 2.2
I love that idea but I hate the body roll
I had to spend over $850+ in upgrades to make it crawl scale
1 word AWESOME
What a scx jeep?! No way....
Between Axial CJ7 vs Vanquish Fordyce RTR, which would you get?
Literally can’t go wrong with either. Comes down to which look you like better or if you have plans to mod it, look at which has more options available for what you want to do with it.
@@rcdrivercouldn't decide, that is why i was wondering what YOU would choose?
CJ-7 for looks and Fordyce for a sweet set up but looks not so much
I am blown away. 500$ whew
I love the looks & I will probably bit the bullet & get one but it’s a bummer your basically buying it for the way it looks because the chassis is basically the same as the Bronco I have the Bronco & other then the fenders it looks identical. To have to pay that price with the same old chassis ain’t right 🤔
It’s listed as $580 on amain… still getting one!
and 8 inch driver figure from NECA might look more scale
Mine !!!
I just wish they'd come out with either a closer to scale Monster Truck, since I don't like the Losi LMT. Or a new and improved 1/10 Axial Yeti, because I love rock racers. Or either bring back a new and improved Axial Wraith. I still have my Wraith,Yeti,Ryft, and SMT10. Nothing they've done since has really caught my interest.
How did you get one already?
Only decision to be made here is which color to get!
The grey and blue one for sure. Its gorgeous.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaasum jeep !
Yeah, lots of clicking from that transmission 😮
Buongiorno.

Nice job with body and proportions , but im ALLERGIC to the scx10.3 annoying clicking sound and it's why i got rid of my gladiator
