What a small world! The strange looking brass piece is a souvenir of Kuwait Towers. The Towers are a famous landmark in the Gulf. I lived in Kuwait as a child until we had to flee the war in 1990. I remember gazing at those Towers in awe everytime we passed by them! It's amazing how this piece made its way to Goodwill!
Why I came to the comments. Thanks
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
The Cheshire Cat mug is special. When you fill it with hot liquid the cat disappears and only the grin remains.
Wow I did not think you were dismissive at all. What a great lesson. I'm out here think how gentle and patient you were with her.
Frequent experience at local Goodwills in Sacramento Ca. I find that the staff people are mostly kind and compassionate, until theft is involved. I haven’t been asked for money but sometimes it can be difficult to disengage from conversations and return my focus on Thrifting. God bless us all 💕
Goodwill should put a piece of plexiglass on those shelves.
My GW, use those disposable plastic cutting mats.
My Goodwills use the flexible plastic mats that are made for the shelves. I don't understand why they don't all use them
Some of the GWs I’ve been in do use plexiglass sheets on the shelves
I think you handled the girl asking for money very well. I'm not sure I'd have been so cheerful and positive sounding.
Nao is made by Ladro. It is the "cheap" line. It is the line made by the aprentices. Sort of the sculptors in training line. The pieces are usually pretty simple. Not extremely large or with many adornments or added pieces. Saw the factory when I went to Spain. That's how they learn the art of making a Lladro.
thank you! this is good info for us when we thrift-for-profit
Thanks for the info!
Yes. Still pretty pieces but not nearly as expensive as lladro
But that’s not true. It’s not an apprentice factory and never was. It came about because of a defection of Lladro workers. The Lladro brothers ultimately acquired it and incorporated into the Lladro company having several iterations. The Nao line is less expensive and simpler than Lladro.
I had that exact Starburst clock in 1970. So cool to see it again.
The lady talking to you and telling you her life story. 😁 And you being so patient with her as you’re filming. 👍🏻
I think it was the person unloading the cart.
It wasn't the worker
@@kellipierce5800 yeah, I realized that when I listened again.
Keep the lid, a friend will show up for it when you are somewhere else.
Oh I love that clock!! What a cool find!
@12:47 my grandson would be all like "whoa big guitar pick!" I love the way he sees the world!
Fun day shopping with you. As all of the viewers, i love the clock. Have a great evening with your family.❤
Nice find on the little owl trinket box, there’s a stand at Roots market that sells all those types at $20+ depending, I paid almost $30 I think for my swan there
Love that sun burst wall clock, what a find.
Ahhhhhh I wanted to see the black orchestra. Dang it, that's something I would have bought for ME. They were all so nicely dressed (the figureines?) 😁The Duke Ellington band
Bless your heart. You were so patient with that woman talking to you. I seem to attract those people wherever I go. I end up knowing their life story before my shopping trip is over. Some people just can’t read the room😊 Anyway- that starburst clock is EVERYTHING! Wow! That was a great find!! Good for you!
lol i go through this too all the time. I have to clip the videos so much bc they dont get that im filming and time is money. So now i wear my ear buds and it helps deter from all the talking loll
I always carry 2 AA batteries in my pocket when thrifting. Has come in handy for testing clocks, etc.
Great idea, will remember it
Nao is a seperate line of Lladro that makes simpler style figurines. used to be Rosal (1968)
Wow!…The clock is totally amazing!!…What a great find!!🤗😀
What great finds. I have a Bowl that you bought I didn't know it was a rice bowl.I checked and it is so excited. Thank you for the tip. Next time I am at Goodwill I will be checking for that. I really love Japanese and oriental decorations. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
It can be uncomfortable handling people who ask for money. I help when I can. I have offered to help pay for groceries when they come up short. No one expects anyone to give money to someone that have no intention of purchasing anything. 99% of the time its spent on alcohol or drugs. Avoiding these kind of people is the best thing to do. You were polite and patient, that shows your character. You handled it fine.
YES the Starburst clock is a fabulous find.
When you looked down in one of those vases I thought about the time my husband and I were out junking and I pulled a little drawer out of an object and it had a spider in it. I hate spiders a lot so no more drawers in those crowded old places.
Don't they have to sanitize plush like they do linens? I use BioKleen. It's an enzymatic cleaner, lime essence. I spray them, wipe anything grimey, and leave it out in the sun --the best disinfectant. They have it at regular grocery stores.
The three tiered copper hanging baskets on the end cap are worth picking up. They always sell well for me. Just for future reference 😉
I will never understand why Goodwill thought it was a smart idea to use shelves with holes in it... everything falls over and wont stand straight. I mean what was the thought process???
Cheapness 😂
No thought, no dusting
Readily available, easy to move and rearrange, and inexpensive. What's not to understand?
@acartwright5323 I totally agree with you! Makes no sense what so ever
They weight a lot less than full shelves.
Luv the clock “take me home”…
The little owl has swarski (how do you spell that!?😅)crystals in it. I picked one up here for a few dollars and google imaged it. ❤
The plastic vase is a mid-century vase from West Germany. Doesn't have a high value, though. Just an odd piece of the heydays of plastic use. 😄 The belling stag was a popular motif up until the 70s.
That clock is so cool. Love it. 😊
You seemed very polite and not dismissive!
Nao is owned by Lladró, but Nao is its own distinct brand with its own catalog.
LOVE THAT CLOCK!!!
Love the MCM starburst clock!🤩
You found some great items, can't wait till you're sold video comes out. Love and hugs for all of you. TFS!!!;
Rice patterned dishes are actually made using rice that disintegrates upon firing
Great stuff love the clock!!!
Lovely video.. youre very kind and friendly . Always love all the videos
Hi thank you for all you do. God bless you my friend
I didn't get the feeling you were being dismissive at all...same friendly person you always are 😊
Love your videos!
I went to aGoodwill in Salem, NH today and they had the same owl trinket box. I left it there. I’m not a reseller but it’s really cool to see you bought it. I cant wait to see what it sells for.
The clock was a good buy! I love the trinket boxes also!❤
I have that exact Lladro dove. I bought it in France many, many years ago. It is my most favorite figurine.
For not feeling it when you started out; you made out like a bandit with lots of treasure 😅. Love the Starburst clock😂.
The stuffed bear was so cute. Do you wonder where anything else has been? lol
The owl trinket box should come with a owl necklace the brand is secret treasures ❤️
Aww, my sister-in-law always asked me to try to find her a star burst clock when I was thrifting. I was never able to.
checkered bowl like the plate!!
8:48 lid........I have one of those, with the bottom, inherited from my hubby's grandmother, I have always wondered about it.
Great clock find!
I love the girl figurine at 2:28 with the blue flowers on her dress holding her hat!! love her!
Love the video ❤❤❤
❤❤ Love shopping with you 😊😊😊
I love it when you look through the baggies! The only Atesania Riconada I have found I found in a baggie!!❤
Some of the treasures I have found in bags are a Belleek miniature tea set I sold for $125.00, Twister Snowbabies sold for $75.00 and a small pink Pyrex refrigerator dish.😁🇨🇦
The plack with the resin flowers
Thanks 😊
After you mentioned the metal pitcher looks like it goes to your espresso machine, a noise in the background sounded like someone using an espresso machine.🤣
that sea shell on the shield before the bear is a good buy. Sell for like $45
Congratulations to you got vintage 70's clock that awesome 👌 👏 👍 😉
Love the starburst clock! I have one on my wall I thrifted here in NZ, good find!
My dream to find a clock like that!
LOL! I saw two of those glass birds at 2:57 today, I picked them up, thought about it, no signature or anything........then passed. They were asking $4.99 each
Crazy Clock Lady!😂
Augh! I want that crystal carousel plate!
Cool Clock!
I bought that same wall clock at an estate sale about 4 years ago. It’s awesome but thinking of painting it with mid-century atomic age colors.
You were soooo patient with the woman talking to you while filming.
The pot had a few outer issues but it look remarkably clean inside.
Isn’t it weird that for all the items they put the price sticker over the brand info on the bottom but for mugs they not only don’t cover the bottom but they even turn them brand info up.I just don’t understand.
Those shelves give me anxiety!
Love your videos!! What filter do you use?
Funny with the horse plate I must have
The Boyds Bear you can leave it out in the sun . Sun kill's mold also cover tag's in pastic very tight gently wash wash a small brush wash with soap hang out side to dry and get brush and fluff up. It's not hard to do . Boyds bear go over $100 of dollars .
I always say the days I feel the worst are when I find the best stuff. Rarely fails.
Fun to watch you tonight California
Nao is owned by Lladró, however Nao is its own distinct brand with its own separate catalogue. Nao is cheaper and not as refined as Lladró but it is not of poor quality.
hi the pig on the egg is Porky Pig and the holders you thought might be coaster are coaster for wine bottles. the bird was princesses house. the clock was cool and a great find.😁
Bdee, bdee, bdee, that's all folks!🐷
"A plastic vase, huh?" 😎💓😁
1:03 who who!!! ❤owl❤
Great wall clock but it works. It is an older one. Thanks for the video. I’ll catch you on the next one. When is your next? What not sell?
June 4th. ☺️
the pot is still a sweet deal! it’s hard to find them in excellent condition..
You handled that situation with grace. You weren't rude or dismissive. You simply went on about your task of shopping for inventory. I feel like you don't really have a dismissive bone in your body, Jocelyn. I really like the owl trinket box. What trinket do you think it originally came with?
Second shelf down.
You are always my break from work! Love to go thrifting with you!
I have a question...I bought a mid-century wall clock, but it doesn't work.
CLL Fans - Do you know where can I find the replacement piece to make the hands move?
In the uk TJ Maxx is called TK maxx as we have TJ Hughes’s and they didn’t want them to get confused 😝
In Germany, too. I even think in the whole of Europe.
2:00 Nao is a Lladro line.
My understanding is that the Nao line is created by the Lladro apprentices.
Hi from New Zealand Nao is the apprentice line from Lladro
Someone has probably already answered this but Lladro created Nao for the general market to be able to afford.
I figured she was up to asking you for money just the way she was talking and I figured you must have known what she was up too because I seen you upset about that lady leaving behind that Christmas tree you were going to buy it for her and if this lady needed help I know you would have helped her that’s just how you are thanks for sharing I love all your videos
Wow, that lamp was awesome, chip or not, why don't u pick up brass pieces? And along time ago when u left those copper & brass pans l was screaming- they don't break in shipping. That was easy $200.00 or more depending on size. I didn't know either til l googled it. My step dad use a big pot l thrifted in Omaha to change the oil in the car! That would of been about $500.00. Those are hard to come by & professional chiefs that train in France & Italy use them & don't give them up. Like cast iron- except the copper & brass are beautiful & they cook perfectly even because of the heat conduction. Sorry, too much info for young mommy to read.
Elmer Fudd. That clock rocks!!
Porky pig?
Yes, its Porky with a Elmer face.
I think you may have misses a bowl that matches the plaid plate you picked up.
LLADRO was first it the most expensive. NAO is made as the mor affordable option
I was told Nao was the cheaper version of Llardro
The three spire piece is from the Kuwait Towers.
I thought it was either that, or a stand for rings and/or bracelets so you don't have to dig through a pile of jewelry. You can find which pieces you want at a glance. 🙂
The owl at 17:15 is from Jasper Kane Designs but I'm not sure of it's value.
White one handled dishes with fruit painted on them are Anchor Hocking “Gay Fad” pattern.
Yeah goodwill
Thank you for all your hard work to give us content
At 10:10 were those handled white Pyrex singles
