    EXCELLENT!! I used it "backwards" like another reader already suggested. I wired it exactly as you indicated, your slight mis-spoken "load" wires actually helped with clarity in my application. I have two inverters I wanted to be able to toggle between. Simply excellent info for the DIY guy.

    OMG so glad I found this video. I have been searching for days on how to wire these suckers. Our AC selector switch burned up. 30 amp RV has a 20 amp AC in the front and another one in the back. They can not run at the same time on campground power. Could not find instructions anywhere. I followed your method and the switch, the front and back ACs work perfectly. Can NOT thank you enough.

    Used one of these switches when I built the electrical system on my off grid property.
    Bought a second for a second project on the same property.
    Had no problem for some time but eventually the contacts failed due to arcing. The new replacements in time went the same way. I can’t say with any confidence that mine were the same brand as this one shown but can say it appears identical.
    Solved my problem by changing to another design with the same function.
    Just relaying my experience.

      Hi Dennis, this switch is learned from Kraus&Naimer blue line design, however, many factories learned without independent thinking. You will find even the appearance looks the same, but there are many different details.
      1. Silver point size and thickness.
      2. The travel distance between moving contacts and fixing contacts.
      3. The shape for Clamping Plate for the wire.
      And so on..
      So, please don't doubt the performance of this switch, just choose the right manufacturer. It will save your money and time, also keep you safe.

      @@konrak5512 no they don't look anything like it lmao. Kraus & naimer ones are much bulkier and obviously built better, also the price tag is 5-10 times more. They do not look like these switches, the terminals are very different as well.

    Hi Marck, I like your video. I am looking to buy the same exact transfer switch. I kind of understand were you coming from when tranferring from shore to Battery charger. But what about having the same shore line to be use for a reseptical when the shore is not in use. Can the tranffer switch be use to connect AC line Out and Shore Line In? I kind of did a Diagram to show my idea for better understanding. I like to do this for my owe purpose and I like to submitted to you, if you like. I'm a new beginner at this. Please let me know.

I want to wire 2 power sources and 1 load allowing me to switch between power sources (Shore and Genset). How would I accomplish this with my switch? I haven't seen any other instruction on this.

    Feels like you’ve come up with a solution where there was no problem? If you have the battery charger connected to consumer unit you could use the switch to then select between ac & dc which seem more preferable. If you wanted to turn battery charger off you could just do so with the socket switch. Sorry I may be being stupid here but just can’t figure what this is achieving?

    Hi,
    Thank you for the video. My issue is a bit different.
    I would like to use the switch for changing the sens of rotation of an electric motor.
    So that if on position 1 it will rotate in one direction and if on position 2 it rotate in the other direction.
    Can you please help know how to connect the terminals? I mean which numbers of terminals I may connect together for position 1, and which ones for position 2. And which ones to connect to the motor and to the power supply.

    • @marcklindsey9512
      @marcklindsey9512  7 месяцев назад

      As long as you maintain the same terminal on either side of the switch, you should be ok. Open it up and look at the inside. It should be a bit more clear.

    Do you wire the switch the exact same way if you have one load and two power sources (shore power and fuse panel)?
    I have a second air conditioner that I want to run a cord to the campground pedestal 20 a mp plug. Position 1 would be normal mode, position 2 the 2nd AC would bypass the coach power, make a 20anp shore cord, and connect it to the pedestal.
    A way to bypass the coaches 30a power.

    The video was helpful to see how to install the switch but why would you install this switch in the first place? If you put the charger, air conditioner and shore power together in a junction box then you could just charge your batteries and run AC at the same time while on shore power. You wouldn't need to switch these.

    • @marcklindsey9512
      @marcklindsey9512  3 года назад

      Hey. Thanks for the input. Didn't think about that. I also wanted to run my AC off my batteries. The idea was to toggle between shore and battery for the AC.

    • @OffGridSolar
      @OffGridSolar 3 года назад +2

      @@marcklindsey9512 In that case you would run your shore power and charger to one input of an automatic transfer switch and the inverter to the other input then run the output to an AC Sub-panel that the air conditioning is on. This way when you plug in shore power. it will automatically run your air and charge your batteries and when you unplug shore power it will switch the input to the inverter and the inverter will run the air.
      Installing off grid mobile solar systems is what I do so if you ever want to pick my brain just message me. Always happy to help.
      But I liked what you did with the manual switchover. I will be using that switch to put in a 30amp service to switch between a Dryer and RV service receptacle.

    I have a 4 position switch like this, quite new but it has stopped working properly, it will only go to two positions and jams in the other positions.
    Does anybody know how to open it to try and see what is wrong inside?
    It seems to come in slices - perhaps I could replace the faulty slice with a good one from another switch.
    Thanks.
