Hi Mikey, I've just become a subscriber. I started with your flight reviews and am cruising thru your catalog. I just recently visited Sedona along with tons of National Parks and Monuments. It's my favorite place of all my travels so far. I must say I'm far less traveled than you but there is definitely something special about that place! Even the drive down from Flagstaff is pretty amazing! Safe travels!
Man I miss Arizona! I lived in Tucson for 4 months. The sunset just about anywhere is fantastic! And the sky here in Michigan is never that blue. If it's a clear night it might be worth your while to stay after dark at the Grand canyon. The Stars are awesome and after my eyes adjusted to the dark I could see little dots of light moving around in the canyon and some tiny flashes. (campers at the bottom with flashlights and cameras) but still it was pretty cool!
I love Sedona, too! I lived in the Phoenix, AZ area for around 5 years, and I've always told myself that if I move back to AZ, it'll be to Sedona. Such a beautiful place!
I've been watching your videos for years and I barely saw this one! I was born in sedona and lived in cottonwood my whole life and its amazing to see you appreciate it so much!
I've lived in PHOENIX for 13 years now and when ever I get visitors, first thing they want to see is the Grand Canyon. I tell them, "OK we'll go, but you won't love it as much as Sedona". Soon as we go to Sedona, they tell me, "We shoulda spend both days here instead!!!" Sedona is Magical, Beautiful, Delicious and like No Other!
We went to Sedona twice, I love Arizona but I prefer Phoenix or Scottsdale. Sedona is beautiful but it's not only cold, but too New Age for me. I live in Canada but I had to wear my winter coat in Sedona, it was that cold and windy, also watch out for the rattlesnakes and the scorpions. I love the desert and its scenery though.
You should go to the Channel Scabland's (in Washington state) if you love that place! It was created sometime after the Ice age, when a glacier lakes ice dam broke releasing millions upon millions of gallons of water upon the terrain a massive flood. The whole lake, which was enormous by the way, was emptied in nearly a week.
Man, you have an amazing life, all this traveling and exploring, all of the different food, all on your own. I would never have the confidence to do this myself. Then again, you weren't alone here, so who knows how often you are actually alone doing spontaneous things :p
Love the Elote cafe....appetizers and IPA beers are delicious. The hotel/resort there is a great place to stay. Looking forward to next visit and some of your suggestions.
Love your Utube channel. My daughter and her husband and their two children live in Rimrock. AZ. About a 20 minute drive to Sedona. I have a year and a half until I retire from Xerox corp. I want to live in Cottonwood, AZ. I can't wait to visit next year. They have friends that have a view of Cathedral Rock from their back yard. Oh, by the way what do you do for a living? You travel the world.
when i was a boy scout growing up in tempe az we used to take weekend trips to sedona and hit the river where it passes through a ranch named r-c that's "are bar see" ranch there is a slide carved from the ledge the river made
Hey Mike, how are you? I was in Sedona in October. Was there for my friend's cousin's wedding. What a beautiful place! We hired & drove a Mustang too. And it looks like you stayed at The Ridge? We stayed at The Ridge, which was the wedding venue as well. Literally everything your video reminded me of my time in Sedona :)
I don't know if you read your comments, especially since this is from two months ago, but I used to live in Sedona. From 1989-96. Much smaller & more rustic back then. I saw & experienced things there that were out of this world, things I didn't believe or even know existed, and more. I could probably fill two books just to describe what I witnessed. One of the places you went shown here, I had a very close encounter with a Sasquatch. I had just settled into Sedona, and I was excited to do some exploring in this new area I had never been to before. I was solo backpacking off trail, just sitting on my sleeping bag on the ground, and basking in the serenity. At about 9pm, a monster comes crashing through the trees, scrub bushes, cacti, & boulders, just mowing everything over while screeching like a banshee. I froze in pure terror, knowing to my core I was about to be killed. He jumped out from the heavy brush 10' above me (I was near a low bluff), but all I saw was a massive hairy being, because it was too dark to see clearly, and then he vanished into thin air. As the creature made a beeline to me, I could hear both four-legged and bipedal footfalls. Apparently, this was a classic territorial defense bluff charge. I didn't know about them at the time, and chalked it up as some kind of spectre. I know there might be some wisecracks, but I am a completely sober person. That animal leg you saw might have been leftovers. Apparently, the Sas are known locally as the Mogollon Monster, named after the Mogollon Rim, a part of the Colorado Plateau. Unfortunately, after that episode, I never camped alone at night there, ever again. Another bizarre thing is the major military presence in the region, indications of a D.U.M.B. & other covert operations. Overall, I found Sedona to be a veritable woo-woo Disneyland.
Hey Mikey, I live in Prescott. Next time you're in Sedona, if you need an eating partner, I'm your man! Wonderful to see you in an area I'm familiar with. Your stuff is great
Mike, you came to Sedona at a good time, just bring long sleeves. 😉 It's not cold and there are a few less people. For me, I prefer Oak Creek canyon where you had breakfast. I hope you got a lot of footage in Flagstaff (my home 😆) that you will share. As of this past weekend there is snow on the mountain...absolutely gorgeous! I am glad you like the drive from Phoenix to Sedona on I17. Though beautiful, I hate making that drive!
omg i know you're staying at a wyndham/worldmark timeshare bc 1. you talked about timeshares and 2. i totally recognize those towels / the mini salt n pepper containers!! I used to work the front desk at the one by disney and they always made us send the guests to the sales desk after they checked in! nice resort, but hate that place

I live and Arizona and your amazement of it makes me realize how much I take Arizona's beauty for granted

Sedona is my favorite place in the world too! The energy there is like nowhere else I've ever been.

Your Phantom threw a flag at that location due to the close proximity to Sedona airport.
