Yes, I completely agree, FORESTELLA is always surprising. Thanks to their very different backgrounds, they can adapt to any genre and style. And they do this in an extremely creative and diverse way. And always with great success. On the one hand, it is a great homage to this classic folk song. On the other hand, this completely unexpected twist, which is "shocking", gives the song a completely different direction, but remains true to the lyrics and the essence of the song. This mixture of completely contrary genres and styles in brilliant harmonies is actually considered a "no go". It may be unusual for some ears, but with FORESTELLA it works! I love this creative and innovative musical work of these extremely versatile, talented artists!!!
Absolutely!!! I couldnt have said it better myself! They brought this song to a whole new level I never imagined it would or could ever go while at the same time paying homage to the original in such a brilliant way!
@@marieogara1036What a world are you where Forestella is everage? You maybe don't know how different and how difficult to sing multiple people together on this level. They did an incredible job in insanely polished way. It's impossible for a soloist to do what they are doing. If it's everage class for you, please name other "everage" groups. I think Forestella deserves a world-fame.
@@marieogara1036 Life and music as part of it is a matter of taste! Your life seems a little sour to me. Where else would this bilious undertone come from? Try to breathe deeply more often. In the long run, a little more calm would be useful here. Judging skills or musical level cannot be an issue here. With your kind of attitude, you are not an adequate conversation partner.
Thanks for your fantastic reaction to Forestella again! BTW JTBC is very strict copyright claimer and blocks alot for the video use. Please blur on to avoid copyright block. (Most of broadcast Korean TV shows need that to avoid copyright block.) This performance was for the 1st round of Phantom Singer All Stars. (I'll say PSAS) PSAS could be filmed because serious covid situation made every concert canceled. For that reason they had online audience and a few celeb guests only. All the finalists groups from 3 seasons were invited and each round had a specific themes. Each season has 3 final groups and all the final 9 groups were invited to PSAS. (BTW Forestella is the 2nd season's winner.) The celebrity guests and online audience voted to someone they liked. There were 7 rounds with different themes. But one theme was solo performance representing the group, and one theme was seasons' match. So each group had 5 songs as a whole group. They compete on the themes given and sometimes compete as solo, as member-changed quartet or duet in this show. The theme for the 1st round was making a stage representing the own originality of themselves. As you saw, they showed their originality like this. And I felt the lyrics was what they're talking to each other because they were through tough time together for years and sharing strong bond among them. BTW I got chills when I came to know the time was going backward! See the clock face was reversed. These genius artists made me imagine a story about the Time in a bottle this way. Every time they make me love them even more than ever!. Forestella sang Time in a bottle, Je suis malade, Shape of you, a Snail, Inner Universe as a whole group in PSAS. They did very good job on every single one. They sang in 7 language in total, in English, French, Spanish, isiZulu, Korean, Russian, and Latin. BTW it seems their reference was the Fast and Furious OST version of Yungblud, good to see how Forestella sang it differently as well.
Exceptional reaction! “Forestella is timeless group and they made a timeless song more timeless” is a great statement and will be quoted by others too. Forestella is a crossover group. So they sing in many genres and many languages sometimes within the same song as you just saw. Check out what they did to Ed Sheeran’s “ Shape of you” or Lady Gaga’s “ Bad Romance. There is a lot to explore. Enjoy the journey.
These boys are just unreal. They tend to put their own spin on their cover songs and really make them their own. They really don’t abide by the rules of genres. So while they aren’t K-pop, they do have an original K-pop song, “Kool”, because, why not? I would mostly classify them as “Popera”, but they are technically “Classical Crossover”. They do a few Queen songs, “We Will Rock You”, “Show Must Go On”, “We are the Champions”. Their original song “Utopia” is heavily influenced by Queen. If you want to see great examples of them taking a song and making it their own, check out “Bad Romance”, “Sweet Dreams” or “Shape of You”. They are never the same experience twice. Thanks for covering them. Great reaction, I knew you would love it. ❤🌲💫
Thank you I really appreciate it! Absolutely love the way they cover songs making them their own while still paying homage to the original! I think Freddy Mercury would have been a big fan of these four if he was here today!
@@TheKillogicEffect I love them the way I love Queen. They could take on any genre seamlessly. I think Freddie would have a blast with them. Like he said, "Do whatever you want with my music, just don't make it boring." ... and they have definitely honored his wishes.

Thank you for another Forestella Reaction. You said... "If Jim Croce saw this...." yes, he'd love it. Same with Queen and Freddie.. They'd love Forestella's "Bohemian Rhapsody". Lady Gaga would hate them because their "Bad Romance" is better than hers. 😂😉 Ed Sheerin would love their "Shape of You", Eurythmics would love their "Sweet Dreams". And the biggest test... we were all "Desacito'd" out, until.. Forestella covered it. Their non-English and semi Classical are simply.. Sublime. I like their heavier "Lazenca Save us". But their "Je suis malade", for me, is their best. 😭😭😭

Forestella is the best. However, there are many equally amazing singers in Korea. Looking back on 5,000 years of history, Koreans especially love singing and dancing. It's enough to surprise you. I discovered Forestella during Covid time and have been absolutely HOOKED ever since! I am going to guess I'm old enough to be your mother. Seriously. PLEASE react to as many of their performances as possible! My very first of theirs was their version of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Then a French classic Je Suis Malade (I'm Sick) which is sung all in French but they really convey the absolute heartbreak of abandonment and loss. Then, Hijo De La Luna (In Spanish it means "Son of the Moon" ) but except for the tiltle, they sing it in Korean. It's about an old fable in which a lonely Gypsy woman longs for a man of her own, so a dark-skinned Gypsy man falls in love with her. She then has a baby boy who is light-skinned (like silver of the moon) The man gets so enraged, believing the child is not his, that he stabs her to death and abandons the child in the Forest. The Moon (being a female) takes the son for herself and as fable goes, when the moon is full, the child is sleeping well and when it is a crescent shape, that is the Moon using herself as a cradle to rock the baby. The song is mind-blowingly gorgeous! Then, since YOU mentioned the word "Champion", listen to their rendition of Champion (most often heard at soccor finals etc) Also listen to Legend Never Die (from League of Legend video games) and the song Warriors and soooo many more! I am now subbed and looking forward to your notifications! Thanks again from Las Vegas NV! PS: The members from left to right on your screen are basso profundo (classically trained) Ko Woorim, then former chemical engineer and weekend rocker (no formal training) Kang Hyung-Ho who has a soprano/tenor range. He's just a musical freak, lol. Then the 3rd man is their leader, Cho Mingyu a classically trained legerro tenor and finally Bae Doo-Hoon, a musical theater actor and the oldest of the group. He is a beautiful baritone/tenor. (Also, if you want to hear Ko Woorim's deep voice in a solo performance, check out Arabian Nights (from Alladin) which he performs live; he is my personal fave!) See ya soon I hope! 🥰😘✌

Forestlla is one of my favourites of all time, thanks for trying them out. You mention liking to get new recommendations. So here are a few. The Dead South (Canadian bluegrass, updated sound) - suggest their Black Lung or You Are My Sunshine, Walk off the Earth (incredible musicians that can make instruments from anything, including a car) - suggest their Beatles medley to start. You talk about Skid Row's new singer. That was Erik Gronwall, who has now left the band and working on other projects as well as solo work. He's been doing a lot of stuff on his YT channel. There, you can also find his cover of 18 and Life - the video that made Skid Row ask him to be their lead. Then there's Tommy Johansson, former guitarist for Sabaton, who is a phenomenal singer (you didn't see that in Sabaton). He also has his own band, Majestica, which he continues with. And he has his own YT channel as well with a new song uploaded almost every Friday (unless he's on tour). His most popular song there is still She's Gone (Steelheart). And lastly, Marc Martel, who does all things Queen. He did the vocals for the Bohemain Rhapsody movie, and was hired by Roger Taylor to front his official tribute band. He has a voice that is very similar to Freddie's. Cheers!
