forestella is actually a classical crossover quartet not a kpop group. 2 opera singers a musical actor and a freak of nature.
That freak of nature is/was working as a chemical researcher who had formed a band and is the lead singer mostly self taught. They all have amazing voices, watching them off stage in videos makes me appreciate than even more.

Hi from Colombia :) Thanks for another MARVELOUS REACTION to Forestella. My favorite covers are: 1) Time in a Bottle 2) Legends never die 3) Je Suis Malade. But please react too to their originals songs/videos (in this order): 1) Save our lives (first part of the trilogy), 2) Utopia (second part of the trilogy), 3) White night (the end of the trilogy). They also have a Kpop-like song call "Kool", and a beautiful song "Chagall's dreams" with they made some weeks before the base (Ko Woo-Rim) went to the military service (he's going to be in service until 2025 but Forestella still performing as a trio until then)

Fan of Queen from BEFORE they were famous. Forestella did Freddie proud. And for me, as a mum, Cho Mingyu''s "Mama just killed a man" hit me even harder than Freddie's original delivery of that line, as Cho made it feel like a young boy telling his mum he had done something naughty. Not a man admitting he'd killed a man.

Just a comment with love: Forestella cannot be considered A capella group - although they have this moment in some songs as somebody already pointed here in the comments - and it is not a Kpop group - although. again. they do have one kpop song recorded and 2 kpop covers performed. They are considered Crossover Group.
But, actually, if in your concept they are one or another we can try to understand because they nailed it in both genres and in other genres, too.

Definitiv eine der Besten, wenn nicht bislang die Beste Version von Bohemian Rhapsodie. Aber sorry, FORESTELLA ist kein K-pop und schon gar keine A Cappella Band. Sie sind tatsächlich eine CROSSOVER Vocal-Gruppe mit ursprünglich klassischen Hintergrund - daher "Quartett" (auch aus der Klassik entnommen) -
Die einzelnen Mitglieder haben durchaus SEHR unterschiedliche musikalischen Backgrounds (Klassik, Musical und Rock). Und sie vereinen diese mit einzigartigen Stimmen und Fähigkeiten. Sie passen sich perfekt an jedes Genre und jeden Stil an und durchweg alle ihrer so krass unterschiedlichen und außergewöhnlichen Performances enden mit einem "WOW".

Hi, you may be thinking of the term "crossover" rather than a cappella. A cappella is singing without accompaniment---no instruments. Pentatonix is an a cappella group for example. But your main point that Forestella are incredible still stands. 😉

Acapella groups do almost everything themselves
Acapella means without music intruments, e.g. Pentatonix is an acapella group

They definitely handle music more like an a cappella group, utilizing their voices as instruments, differently than the original version. Definitely not K Pop. They are the best group.
