Honestly as an American after suffering 4 years under Trump, when I saw this at the end of the night I cried. It gave me so much hope for the future.🇺🇸💙💙
Don’t be sorry for crying. I’ve watched that video several times since the inauguration and also tear up watching it. Tears of joy, as the saying goes. Like you said, a perfect song for the moment. Truly a historic inauguration on many levels, including the first woman Vice President and first person of color to be VP.
I am so happy that so many people in the world are so happy for us Americans. Katy’s performance was the most emotional of the day.

As an American, I am hopeful that the Inauguration and the evening performances can strike a cord with the U.S. and the world of a new beginning. 60% of the people of this country were utterly embarrassed by the former President and look forward to working with the world again.

Of all the people reacting, yours was the best. Loved watching you ever second. It wasn't just the song and the fireworks, it was symbolic of getting Trump out as our horrible, dangerous President. We needed that catharsis to end his reign of terror. Add in Katy's magnificent voice and song, and what was probably the most amazing fireworks display ever, with the Washington Monument behind them.

I just watched another reaction video to this, and didn’t realize there’s a line in the song that may be very relevant, and another one of those instances where it was the perfect song for the moment, or line for the moment. The line is “If you only knew what the future holds; after a hurricane comes a rainbow.” It’s during the second verse of the song I think.

Here in the uk we hold firework competition over 4 areas of the uk. Fireworks to music and insink with each other its 3 teams and the organisers , a total of 40 minutes 10 minutes each show and you get to vote for your favourite its an amazing night.
