❤ I only stayed here one night because another hotel close by was so terrible we left. I walked over to the Hyatt Regency and they offered me the same type of room you stayed in with Club access for 199.00. No extra charge for club. I am a Hyatt member but my status is nil. I loved this place. I didn’t leave the resort all day and enjoyed everything. Silly to mention but they had the best pool side French fries. This is a place I would not only return to but would stay much longer. Loved this resort.
We just returned home from Bali a week ago and spent 2 lovely nights in a regency suite that cost just 13K points per night at the Hyatt Regency Bali. We have been Team Hilton and this stay is our first Hyatt experience. It was amazing. Our room was on the 3rd floor, closest to the beach and the Andaz - we had a giant wrap-around balcony and a view of the turtle sanctuary. Your review was spot on about how lovely this property is, and how great value it represents. We loved the lounge, spent a great day on the beach, and discovered a night market just a few minutes away. Interestingly enough we found your channel about a year ago while planning for this trip. I originally had plans to stay at the Alila Ubud, but we skipped Ubud altogether this time and split our time between Sidemen and Sanur. Thanks for the great videos!
I absolutely love each and every video on this channel. For the resort videos it is amazing to me that you are able to show us the whole place in such great detail and put it into a nice 25-30 minute package. Your level of detail and ability to give us every angle of these places is so skillful. And oh yeah, you nail it every time with the background music too!!!I subscribe to roughly 300 channels and this one without a second thought is solidly in my top 5!!! Keep up the amazing work Kevin!!! I cannot wait for the next one!!!
3:22 Your summary graphics are one of the aspects that I really enjoy ( also your light hearted humor is the best ). They are filled with something Joe Friday would love, just the facts.
My wife and I are going in 10 days. It will be our 4th time in 2 years. We are doing 6 nights after 7 in ubud. I couldn't agree with you more. You completely nailed it. You didn't miss a thing. I now know several of the staff there, and we are in constant contact, as I am up to about 700 words, and they love that you take the time and make an effort to speak their language. Love the Pizarea. Need I say more....? Awesome video ❤
Hey Kevin, another stellar review! By the end of the video, I was sold and booked a 4 night stay there for next Summer! I particularly loved the surroundings, and how private the resort feels! Thanks for the detailed review! Oh and I just came back from Park Hyatt Saigon, loved that property as well!
As a regular holiday traveller to Bali from where I live in Australia, I walked past this resort many times and thought nothing of it. Wow! I had no idea the extent of this property and what it has to offer, thanks Kevin for the detailed video, looking forward to staying there a future trip 👍
I've always thought about this resort and am so glad to watch this review. Thank you Kevin, you might just have got me back to Bali. (I have poor memories of the island from my first and last visit 30 years ago!)
I said it on the Andaz video, but Sanur and this hotel is amazing, and as stated amazing value. I stayed while it was a cat 1 which was even more of a value. The old original structure design and cultivated overgrow make it seem jungle like and almost like a hidden resort as, although you're right off the boardwalk, feels hidden away. I am far from the sit on a resort type and I was extremely happy just chilling and exploring around the property and surrounding area. The beaches are way better than Canggu/Seminyak and do not stink as there are not runoffs from the interiors. Also the is a boardwalk that runs the entire length of Sanur. The club was great and has a variety of stellar restaurants. I fully agree the club was excellent as well. It's obviously not a place designed as a business hotel, but the rooms and elsewhere lacked anywhere to really set up a laptop/workstation and get things done. The club was truly the best solution there. A high top table with access to coffee and evening snacks and drinks. The breakfest there is nearly the same as at Omang Omang. I would say you fully get your $ worth with the club. If I could find faults is the service was slow at times, the contract companies on property for services were not polished, and the reef area has sea urchins and shallow even at high tide. Sanur was a sleepy fishing village at one point and still less developed than elsewhere in Denpasar adjacent areas, which limits off property food options. I really would love to gatekeep Sanur/Hyatt Regency, but as the video notes I'd absolutely go back there regularly if it weren't on the other side of the globe.
Another fantastic video - thanks Kevin. What a lovely resort and our sort of place - it's definitely going on the list. You often ask for suggestions - it would be great and add a further string to your reviews if you could include what's in the immediate vicinity of each hotel - I'm not asking for or expecting reviews of everything nearby but including detail of the area each hotel is in and what's within walking range would be great. Breakfast aside, we rarely eat in hotel restaurants, not so much because of their quality but more due to inflated prices and the not uncommon, forced/false themes, meaning we almost always prefer to eat at local, traditional places.
I've considered something similar prior- the reason I don't is because I don't want to suggest/endorse places that I haven't actually been to. So, I could add some local restaurants and things like that- but it would be just as easily found (and as thoughtful) as google maps results.
@@tfft Thanks and fair point. Yes, a quick Google Maps search would serve the same purpose but even simply including in your report whether any restaurants/shops/bars/attractions are within walking distance, or how far away they are, might be helpful to the viewer so they're able to determine how isolated, or not, each hotel is. Keep up the great work!
Agree best value Hotel in Bali and with points even more bargain, lovely staff that after years always remind me, so heartfully, look forward be back next week. Tks for great independent report as usual :), it will be an honor meet you someday wherever in the world.
Their service was beyond. I stayed at 5-stars hotels mostly for work. I left the room early in the morning and forgot to turn the DND sign off. Most hotels would just slip you a note under the door. Not here, they contacted me through whatsapp letting me know they can't clean my room and ask me whether I want my room to be cleaned or not, and when I said yes, they confirmed it by asking for my permission to get in. Later in the afternoon I got things sent out to the hotel and they contacted me again and asked me whether I want my things to be sent to my room. I arrived at night back from work and I have my rooms cleaned and my things in my room, refrigerated (it was chocolate). This kind of service I thought you would only get from over $1000 a night hotels, not $200.
Thank you for this wonderful review, Kevin! What a beauty of a Hotel! I want to be there instantly - even more than at the Andaz! I’ve experienced hotels in Ubud and Jimbaran so far - now Sanur is on top of the list…
Having stayed at several Bali hotels myself, I think the Oberoi Bali has some of the best grounds of any property there. While its not under $250, its still relatively very reasonable for an Oberoi property. Also from being a long time viewer, I know that this channel has a big Oberoi following (Mumbai, Udaivilas, Amarvilas) as some of the most viewed. So it would be nice to see a review on the Bali property as well.
Great video - I’m old enough to remember the original and although there have been changes the gardens and outside areas have retained their beauty, I have always liked Sanur , it’s not as “trendy” as perhaps Seminyak and Canggu and god forbid Nusa Dua, and what value for such a great property - congrats Mr. Kevin it looks like you enjoyed your stay perjalanan yang aman 🙏🏼
Go ahead and publish the “…But They Didn’t Have a Coffee Machine” book! I would buy it! I thought I was the only person that is seriously bothered by the lack of in room coffee machines at the major 5 star resorts! ❤ ❤❤your videos!
The Grand Hyatt Bali in Nusa Dua is in dire need of the same kind of renovation… I prefer that location because of the beach, the direct surroundings (nice walkways, shopping etc) and vicinity to the airport (fast by toll road), but boy…it is so tired looking and dated. Thank you for this comprehensive review! 🙏🏼🥳
Yeah I agree about the location but besides that it still surprises me how much people lump these two properties into the same basket. I feel like Hy Reg hasn’t done a great job of communicating they’re fully remodeled.
What a score! I love it when a resort hits all the right marks including price point. This is why I want to try another one you recommended: Marriot Fiji.
Good morning from California! My heart is full every time I watch your Bali hotels videos. Wish I could go back and lived in Bali for months at a time. We did stay in the Intercontinental Jimbaran in 2023 for a good 4 nights . It was spectacular even though the room smelled musty but still nice. We had to request for a dehumidifier to get the smell out - not sure if that helped. We'll keep Andaz Sanur and Hyatt Regency in mind for next trip.
Another excellent review Kevin!!! I always wonder about this Hyatt Regency, as I always ended up at Andaz in Sanur. Another great thing about that Sanur boardwalk is that you can walk all the way to the new ICON mall (30min) or to the really beachside restaurant at Tandjung Sari (25min) from Hyatt Regency/Andaz. Also, I noticed you changed the breakfast rating for Andaz Sanur from #2 to #1 ❤; why the change of heart? 😁
@@tfft Just watched it. I'm glad you did both IC Bali videos, as I was wondering about them. Thanks for your always honest and spot on videos. Always looking forward to all of your Asia videos.
Hi Kevin, love your videos, they are prefect for my partner and I as he’s in a wheelchair and they really show us what the resorts are like for accessibility thanks to your walk throughs! I’ve noticed that you were very complimentary about the Alila Seminyak as a whole, but it’s not on your hotel breakfast ranking chart- wondering why that is, and what you’d rank it? We booked the Andaz Bali last year based on your first review - it was brilliant, 100% agree with your recent vid top ranking for breakfasts - and we’re staying at Alila Seminyak in a couple of weeks thanks to you too. Earlier this year we also stayed at The Sofitel Metropol Hanoi and Kimpton Maa Lai Bangkok thanks to your vids. Cheers!
Yeah ironically someone else commented the same on this video- and it is true- no idea why, I remember thinking about it when making the list originally, so it’ll make it on come the end of October. Without over thinking it, I’d guess it would come out in the 40-60 range.
@@tfft wow oh damn, I’m all about the pool and the breakfast when it comes to these sorts of stays, hopefully they’ve upped their game a bit since then ;)
It’s not a dig. I have high expectations for Alilas when it comes to food, so the 40-60 range is a very solid score… just not life changing. For lunch and dinner though the same restaurant is magic.
@@tfft ahh makes sense! Very excited to check out Sea Salt then for lunch/dinner. While I have you, we stayed at the refurbished Centara (now Centara Reserve) in Koh Samui, now aimed at a more luxury market, in the same trip where we stayed at the Sofitel Metropol / Kimpton Maa-Lai, and it was quite wonderful! Not sure if it’s on your radar for future reviews, but it was quite a lovely stay, the grounds and beach are well worth checking out. Very much improved from the pre-covid Centara Grand experience.
We love this hotel so much and if you have regency club access you don’t need a nespresso machine in room 😅 at this property you get a family suite with suite upgrade and they are super nice and good size
We first stayed at the Bali Hyatt 30 years ago . we have probably spent the equivalent of a year staying there before it closed for renovations. It was our most favourite hotel in the whole world 🌍. We still see some of the original staff around sanur . We have stayed at the Andaz which we did love for its luxe but after a month we were still being asked our room number which was disappointing. The Bali Hyatt next door is old Bali and that’s why we loved it . Maybe we should give it a re try x
Hello Kevin, nice video again. I stayed in this hotel for my honeymoon in 1999 and we plan to go back someday. I have one question - are your videos still unsponsored?
You mean in addition to the 20+ of them I already have on the channel? 😆 Here’s the playlist: Thailand Hotel Videos ruclips.net/p/PL83ZLLu2Le8OP-TOwhcv6VKPdhXm6cP0P
Super random question. I watched your Alila Seminyak video awhile ago. I was curious where it would score on your breakfast ranking, which led me to this video
Thanks for sharing . Let hope that the same level of service at Bali Hyatt Regency is replicated at the Grand Hyatt Bali where I am heading to in December 2024
I just booked us 3 nights in the brand new Hyatt Khao Lak Beach Resort and Spa (not the same as the existing JW Marriott Khao Lak) at a great price in Feb 25, looks great!
Looks lovely and definitely a great value. But I’m surprised you did not mention the furniture wear & tear-some peeled finish in the sink and some chips or scuffs in the wood furniture. Nothing terrible but surprising.
Really, that's surprising to hear. Do you mind if I ask which country you view from? (or which country you connect your VPN to if used) and which browser you use? I can pass the info to Patreon on my end.
@@tfftI think when I was younger I used my Patreon for random subscriptions without actually having the $$$ and they must have disallowed either my account or card or IP or something and I didn’t bother to create a new account. 😂 but the country is mostly USA (if not SGP or TWN sometimes) and the browser was chrome but is now firefox.
Fantastic video! This is a great hotel but in my opinion the Grand Hyatt in Nusa Dua is better than this. I visited it last year and felt like its rooms were a bit underwhelming while its pools, beach, location and ambience were better. However, both the restaurants in the Grand Hyatt made absolutely disgusting Indian food which made me feel bad as an Indian. Its pricing is also quite similar. Have you ever visited it? What are your thoughts?
No, I haven’t been. Have just heard too many negative comments about it and I don’t like to visit properties which I think may score poorly on purpose.
my problem with Bali on the beach is the masses of plastic garbage in the water and on the beach. You NEED a good hotel, and if your bank account allows for it, a g r e a t hotel to bridge the time it takes the wonderful helpers to rake the beach clean in the morning. keep em coming, your videos are great!
Here is a tidbit, many workers working in the club lounge are day workers They make very little money for a 8-10 hour day of work. 100-150k if you must know. They are young temporary workers starting their hospitality careers. Please be nice to them (not too demanding), leave them a tip of 10k (not required, more like a wish you will do this) Or Bring them candy from your home country. I take KitKats from Japan on my way to Bali and the whole crew gets Kit Kats. I love this lounge and they love to show their Bali hospitality.
Disagree seems like the wrong word- but I’d have to disagree. I employed casual workers in the region for many years and the staff in the club lounge when I were there were without a doubt not temporary workers.
@@tfft I can confirm they have these workers. The bellboy didn't have a clue when I asked about things as a returning customer. This wasn't the case in 2021-2022. The bellboys reply upon asking how many days he has worked there was a SHOCKING 2.
Hmm, seems you’re right. Strange, not sure how that happened bc I remember thinking about their disappointing French toast when originally making the rankings lol.
I stayed here twice. Unfortunately, the lack of action in Sanur (I still insist it’s a retirement home) prevent me from ever wanting to stay there. But I do get that you totally disagree with me!
What a great looking property. When it comes to hotel loyalty, i doubt I'd sign up for one since I don't travel enough to justify it (even with a credit card). It's also why i don't worry about airline status. I'm more likely to choose a property on the location. I may initially go name brand (Hilton or Hyatt i both like) but if i find an interesting independent property may go for that if i return.
Sure, don’t need to chase any status but you should still always sign up for their programs and collect the points- especially for Hyatt who always have the most valuable bonuses year after year.
To be fair to them, I filmed the restaurant itself around 20 mins before they opened since it was open air… just walked in. (The food filmed after opening tho).
@@tfft yes and effectively 70 % of the planet is water so as per your theory 10 % of human habitual land mass. You seem to be educated , why can you ask yourself a simple question would I risk a snake bite for a few you tube views, gosh the greed in you lot.
Have PTSD from the place, had a terrible stay there in that same room due to bad soundproofing. Tiny, dark room on ground floor, it was this same room you were in 2113! Unreal how two guests can have such a contrasting experience of a property even while staying in the same room. The room was dark because you have no sheers /curtains for privacy, only the blackout curtains (can be seen at 14:18). There were people in front of my patio all the time playing with their kids so had to keep those almost fully closed during the stay. No idea how you have a checkmark for soundproofing though! Maybe you had nobody staying in the adjacent rooms? I could hear every word spoken in rooms next door. You can hear every person walking past the door as well. The patio is not covered (can be seen at 12:04), so when it rains whatever you might have out there to dry will get wet, same for the outdoor furniture. The gym is at the Andaz and if it rains you will get soaked when you walk there and the walkway will flood so that you arrive at the gym with wet shoes. The wardrobe does not fit an open suitcase, then its doors won't close, you can hardly squeeze by the wardrobe doors and the wardrobe lights will stay on. The noise from adjacent rooms was the major issue that ruined my stay. The Pizzeria was good and the slippers they give you are great because they are durable and very lightweight (can be seen at 16:00), nice to pack and take for future hotel stays. Highly recommend those slippers.
I stayed here right after the renovation. The entry level rooms were so tiny without a bathtub. That's pretty much the only complaint that I had about this resort. I wonder why the pool had to go through maintenance. As always, thanks for the wonderful review.

For me, that bedroom needs some plants in it to make it feel complete - they'll add some colour and tie together the room and the verdant exterior.
Good point.
We love this hotel so much and if you have regency club access you don’t need a nespresso machine in room 😅 at this property you get a family suite with suite upgrade and they are super nice and good size
Kinda agree... but I need coffee before I need to face other humans lol
100% self funded and unsponsored by hotels/airlines, yes.
@@tfft Excellent 👍
I reckon at some point you should reviews of the resorts in Koh Samui and Phuket
You mean in addition to the 20+ of them I already have on the channel? 😆 Here’s the playlist:

@@tfft oops didn’t see those. Sorry!!
Super random question. I watched your Alila Seminyak video awhile ago. I was curious where it would score on your breakfast ranking, which led me to this video
It was missing, but will make its appearance towards the end of October.
Do guests have access to the pools and grounds at the adjacent Andaz?
Love the review, just a small observation can you consider accessibility also too while rating pls.
Cheers!
I always do, when there are things to call out, I always do.
Thanks for sharing . Let hope that the same level of service at Bali Hyatt Regency is replicated at the Grand Hyatt Bali where I am heading to in December 2024
I've heard conflicting info in that regard.
Kevin, please review one of the Aman hotels. I’m really looking forward to the pinnacle hotel experience by you! ❤
Would love to someday, but their price points just don’t work for self funded videos.
Hey Kwev those prices show are they in Indonesian Rupiah? If so I have never imagined so cheap like R190 is about 20 cents in AUD?
In 000s of IDR, yes.
I just booked us 3 nights in the brand new Hyatt Khao Lak Beach Resort and Spa (not the same as the existing JW Marriott Khao Lak) at a great price in Feb 25, looks great!
Hyatt Khao Lak? To my knowledge (and I just checked again) there is no Hyatt property in Khao Lak... lol
@@tfft Marriott!
Have you tried the St Regis in Bali? Thinking to visit this Resort next year
Haven't, no. Kinda crossed them off my list when they tripped their rates after Covid.
Thank You ✈️
Thanks for watching 🩴
26:48 pretty sure it is banyan tree in Krabi, right? ✌️😙
Correct!
Thanks for video

Looks lovely and definitely a great value. But I’m surprised you did not mention the furniture wear & tear-some peeled finish in the sink and some chips or scuffs in the wood furniture. Nothing terrible but surprising.
Nothing that is worth even mentioning for the price.
that's a nice feature indeed, a good alternative to me, for my Patreon refuses to work with anyone I wished to subscribe to.
but the country is mostly USA (if not SGP or TWN sometimes) and the browser was chrome but is now firefox.
Took my mum there 12 years go..our balcony porch area we feed the fish with left over bread

For the record, the 1st international luxury hotel is actually Bali Beach Hotel which was open back in 1966 managed by IHG
I think the difference in the stat is mine is referring to the first international branded luxury resort.
Hyatt Regency Bali: Ballin' on a budget...?
Something’ like that lol
Looks far superior to the price point. Although i must say, i'm not that familiar with the pricing in Bali.
In Bali, the room I had would not be out of line coming in around $350
11:21 that looks delicious.

Thanks
Thanks very much for the support ❤️
The garbage flow is an annual event and for most of the year, the beaches are unaffected or can be well kept.
Here is a tidbit, many workers working in the club lounge are day workers
They make very little money for a 8-10 hour day of work. 100-150k if you must know.
They are young temporary workers starting their hospitality careers.
Please be nice to them (not too demanding), leave them a tip of 10k (not required, more like a wish you will do this)
Or
Bring them candy from your home country.
Is there any cute wild life on the resort
Nice....
Any possibility you visit Mulia resort?
It will be interesting to hear your opinions.
Everything is possible! Lol

Fyi, I think you forgot to put alila seminyak in your breakfast rank list😊
Hmm, seems you’re right. Strange, not sure how that happened bc I remember thinking about their disappointing French toast when originally making the rankings lol.
@@tfft 🤣🤣🤣
The Bulgari Bali?
Are you suggesting the Bulgari Bali is a value resort under $250? lol
I stayed here twice.
Unfortunately, the lack of action in Sanur (I still insist it’s a retirement home) prevent me from ever wanting to stay there.
But I do get that you totally disagree with me!
I’ll take a peaceful retirement home any day over traffic that takes 60 minutes to go 3 miles lol.
@@tfft I'll check out Hyatt's program
did the staff member really just throw something across the counter at 20:03? slightly unprofessional 😅😂😢
To be fair to them, I filmed the restaurant itself around 20 mins before they opened since it was open air… just walked in. (The food filmed after opening tho).
The only thing that scares me in places like this and India are snakes and frogs that can come out of those plants.
I mean, so in that case you need to avoid 80% of the planet lol
All about expectations in my opinion.
Looks old 😢 boring . how much is this 300-500 a night ? Never been to Bali
This is why this place went from Tier 1 to 2, and
Because of your video,
This place will be at tier 3 or 4.
Noooooooooooooo, don’t go there.
So you better go quick!
I stayed here right after the renovation. The entry level rooms were so tiny without a bathtub. That's pretty much the only complaint that I had about this resort. I wonder why the pool had to go through maintenance. As always, thanks for the wonderful review.
