I got happy when I see your Hawaii videos also I learned alot from them before I took a vacation out there. Great video I also like the London and Washington DC videos also 👌
When I enjoyed the property the rate was about what you paid. The location is the BEST on Waikiki. I like the shops so you can easily load up on souvenirs etc. The beach with the surf wall makes swimming so enjoyable, no getting knocked down by angry waves. All the restaurants within a block is so nice. Valet while pricey is SUPER easy to come and go. And of course you're right by the Duke Statue. I miss Waikiki but living in the midwest makes it much less expensive to check out either coast for a couple hundred bucks. Gotta disagree on the Tophers. Has to be 4 perhaps even 4.5. Would love a video on which hotel you rank higher on Waikiki proper. GREAT JOB! Chris
Just spent the holidays at the Hyatt - first time in Hawaii! Got back to Anchorage 5:30 this morning. Excellent service and very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet @ Shor was around $40-$45 before a tip and I must say, it was probably worth every penny. Even by Alaska standards, the food in the hotel and surrounding restaurants was pricy but typically very high quality. As noted, there are cheaper options - eating in your room or finding restaurants off the "main drag." The hotel is a bit dated, sometimes it can be confusing trying to get to internal locations - a few escalators were inactive and made getting from "point A to point B" an adventure. Terrific location along the beach. I think everything Waikiki offers to the tourist is readily accessible. I paid somewhere between $450-$600 a night since I stayed over the 25th. Final bill - about $3200 for 6 nights. Resort fees and other "add-ons" are hefty.
Hi! Thanks for your video. In your video, you mentioned how we can get the beach chairs for free to bring down to the beach. Did you have to pay for a special room for this free amenity? Or is this for any guest staying?
Thanks for your review! Been here two times and a third time in 2025! What’s your favorite Hyatt Regency lounge? I also booked at the GH Kauai after Waikiki stay.
I do like the location if you’re not staying beachfront. just across the street is excellent close to the zoo and shopping. Their rooms are new but the common areas are really really dated. I honestly prefer the Hilton Hawaiian village. I can walk right out of the rainbow tower and be on the beach.
Spot on review of this resort, we enjoyed our stay there, we booked through Costco which included a free breakfast buffet for two. We stayed in an ocean view room on the 30th floor of the Ewa tower, beautiful city and ocean views but very noisy with with not only traffic but also had a constant hum of air conditioning units from nearby hotels, it was pretty distracting, perhaps the Diamondhead tower would be more quiet, also, the parking garage is very compact which makes navigating it very difficult if driving a larger vehicle.
I agree that the hotel and your room looks dated, especially it is a 4 or 4.5 star hotel in Wakiki. However, once you mentioned you paid $200+50 resort fee, it makes it reasonable. LOL I wouldn't mind paying $250 a night for this hotel given the location and the hotel is still clean and well maintained. I'm a Marriott Bonvy Member, please have a Marriott Bonvoy affiliated hotel review next time you visit Wakiki.
It’s good hotel you can’t go wrong with HYATT. The rooms are always clean and maintained, people are extremely friendly, and the customer service is amazing. However I don’t likes the Resort fees and other fees that they add on the bill. IT feels like a giant scam and money grab in my opinion. I would even go far as to say they are known as JUNK FEES. But at the end of the day I guess as long as they tell you upfront about it then I guess it is fair. But even with that it still feels like I’m paying Junk Fees
$55 a day for self parking? I'm not staying there! Have stayed at the Marriott a couple blocks back. I would rather stay outside Waikiki or on the end to avoid traffic getting in/out of Waikiki. I grew up in Hawaii and have never swam at Waikiki Beach. I spearfish a lot. I don't think tourists would appreciate me coming out of the water with a dead fish.😂 I think the area is a marine sanctuary. Only 3.5 Tofers? Resort fee! Yikes!

Chris I am staying there in Jan 2025
Hi Chris. Thanks for the room tour. Glad you enjoying staying at this property. Thanks for sharing and take care.

I love your hotel reviews so much! Especially Hawaii❤
Thanks Brenda!
You are living the life 🎉
Stayed there in May it was great.
We were just there Nov 23- Dec 1. I think we just missed you there
It's a big hotel 😀
Stayed here in March, excellent location right across from the beach & walking distance to plenty of great bars, shops, etc. nice work!
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Stayed here in Sept. It was great. We used a lounge pass which saved us so much money on food

Hi Chris! I live in Honolulu, appreciate all your videos would have loved to have said hello in person.
Mahalo! Maybe next time! 😀
Great review as always! Based off of your video I would give this hotel 4 Tophers.... I feel like the price is unbeatable for what you get!
Thanks Derek for upping the rating 😀
Called that topher rating this time! Although the waves seem too small. I would stay at north shore.

Any guest staying can get the beach chairs for free to carry with them to the beach

Hello, love your Hawaiian videos, is the zoo in Honolulu worth visiting?
Thanks Joe.. honestly since I grew up in San Diego (home to one of the world's best zoos) I've never bothered to visit the Honolulu zoo
I’ve been to both. Honolulu zoo is very much worth the price you pay.
I stayed there in 1989 with that same view from I think the 34th floor.
💕 We got married there 14 years ago. Haven’t been back since.
So did we. Nov 2016! Love the Hyatt regency Waikiki

I certainly like the resort vibe of the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It's just too far from the shops and restaurants in Waikiki for my preference

Thanks for sharing your experience as well and the tip on the Costco package with brekkie
Definitely less than ideal bathroom layout. Great view from that room though... Wow!
The view is amazing! And yes. The bathroom is weird

The price was definitely right!

Did you pay for valet parking as globalist?
What days were you here? Must e pretty recent since you are already talking about 2025.
Yup. Pretty recent 😀

Yeah. That's the going rate for Waikiki these days
