Is the GARGANTUAN LEVIATHAN or OLD MOTHER KRAKEN BIGGER?! Sea of Thieves & Subnautica Content

You may know the Gargantuan Leviathan for being the largest and scariest Subnautica creature that is shrouded in mystery. But did you know that the old mother from Sea of Thieves has a very similar size? The gargantuan leviathan and kraken have caused thalassophobia and influenced many players to quit the game, but one may actually be larger than the other by a decent margin. - Игры

Edit: Thank you to the person who replied with the official size being 1500 meters
There is actually official lore on its size. The skeleton in-game is around 500 meters long, but when it's scanned, the entry in the PDA says it's an incomplete fossil, being about a third of the length of a complete one, so a full gargantuan leviathan fossil would be around 1,500 meters long.
What the entry does not say is that the fossil is of a juvenile leviathan that's much smaller than an adult, nor does it say that it can keep growing forever; both of those "facts" are from the mod.
theres to skeleton a massive one and a smaller one of it which is a juvenile
@meowdynyall9284 Thanks for the official size and correcting me it's been far too long since I played subnautica

I remember hearing that the worm like fish which is indeed very small compared to the Gargantuan Leviathen, it's actually larger. According to the PDA it was probobly on the top of the food chain with it's size so the bones are most likely a new born.
You mean the skeleton with all the holes? Or just that random skull?
I think if these games had a crossover it would be really cool and scary
I have sort of mixed feelings about my childhood, but holiday nostalgia was definitely real. It diminished a bit into adulthood, but has come back very strongly after having a kid of my own. I've done more hosting to make some holidays extra special and fun for friends, which has also brought back the nostalgia in a slightly evolved way (you get the experience of being "in charge" and absorbing others' joy).
To clear up a LOT of misconceptions I’m reading, the gargantuan leviathan skeleton with a ghost at its skull measures to 1500 meters in full. THAT IS THE ADULT GARG, as there is another skull in the lost river that is smaller, and is confirmed to be the juvenile. Those two get mixed up constantly, leading to the mod that adds the garg speculating its adult size to 5km, which is not the actual size, meaning that an adult gargantuan leviathan measures up to 1500 meters, which is still massive.
to clear up more speculations, the smaller one is in fact a juvenile, while the larger one is not an adult as adults have no growth limit. Assuming a garg has an infinite food source and lots of time it will grow infinitely
@@antifurry5102 and where did you get the information? It doesn’t say at any point in game that the garg is a non-stop growing organism, only that it was an apex predator. The gargantuan leviathan adult grows up to 1500m, and stays until passing.

@@mellecollina lol probably
@mellecollina lol i mean ocean crawlers do exist maybe the juvenile krakens eat the ocean crawlers?
Theyre decently sized, id say like 6 to 8 would fill up a kraken or at least the one we see in the sunken pearl tall tale
Also the gargantuan doesnt have a size limit
In the sot lore the kraken is known for being carnivorous and each tentacle acts like a mouth having teeth on the inside it also doesn’t ever attack with its beak.
Gargantuan is like Jörmungandr. If they didn't die from starvation they could prob circle the world of subnotica
I once heard a theory that The Old Mother is the dead Kraken island or under it or something, and that krakens go there to die with their mother. Probably ain’t true, figured it was neat though and would make the old mother even bigger.
Well believe it or not but as of now there is only one cracken in sot
I don’t think that’s true. You can see multiple krakens, the one in The Sunken Pearl tall tale (may have gotten the name wrong), you can see hundreds of kraken corpses scattered around the Sea of Thieves. They are near extinction due to the fact the Old Mother was one of the few that could have children and now is gone, presumably starved to death due to the fact she was chained. There’s a lot of krakens, not just one, and based on the amount of kraken corpses we see there are probably a lot more or another Old Mother left, I’d presume the former.
My point was that krakens seem to want to die there for some reason, which could likely be two reasons, one, the mysterious chest on The Silver Blade, which was known to attract krakens (different from the chest of sorrow). Or, what I proposed, the old mother was chained below the island, both options seem probable and fit the lore.
