Jim was a Once in a Lifetime absolute Class Act. He was one of my first crushes as a kid watching Rockford Files. He started out as a swimsuit model, but he was a true Model for how a person should treat others.
I knew him well as a kid .I got to go to his house, swimming in his pool, sit on his plastic covered couches. (Furniture) I got to go out with his daughter Gigi to a movie. Life was really exciting being a kid when you are the nephew of movie star people and be able to hang around with these great actors. So many great memories. 👍
I just finished his book written not long before his death. The guy seems a bit of a contradiction. He always claims he hated bullies and always defended the defenseless, yet he was often "decking" people he says. This shows I think even with Jim Rockford. He would bully people he thought he could bully...the scene with little Bill Mumy as Lindsey Wagner's brother is typical. Yet he would cower at other times when he felt they were a real danger. I love the RF but was never really impressed by his acting abilities or his looks, then again I'm not some loopy woman fan.
