Stop Dying in Caps... How to keep your Carrier Alive in Eve Echoes

- During a nightly roam, we happened upon an Archon ratting in an anom. Naturally, we decided to try to take it down. In this case, we were successful, but with only a few small changes, this carrier pilot would have lived to rat another day.
Lets talk about what went wrong, and how you can stay alive!
Gonna chime in being the carrier pilot, only reason I got tackled was I was on cool down from initiating target lock mode and wasn't able to turn it of to warp it was bad timing on my part. With the 3 minute cooldown to change modes I'd just turned it on when your scout showed up leaving me 3 minutes I was stuck unable to warp off or I would have been gone before the scout landed in the anom.
Oof, that’s tough man. I forgot about the cool down so definitely something to pay attention to for myself and others. I usually don’t activate it personally so I don’t run into the issue you had, but it’s such a nice bonus I can’t blame ppl for using it
In Pantheon I learned to rat in a pvp fit. The DPS loss is not worth the ship loss regardless of the ship. High Sec is the only place for a glass cannon fit. Well said brother 🍻🐓
Wait wait, I'm a pirate... I mean glass cannon is the bestest fit ever!!
Haha, a pirates life for sure… yeah it’s a great idea not to go full glass cannon in these caps. I mean… yes, I agree we need more glass cannons!
You don’t PvP in a PvE ship , that the reason why pantheon disappeared. When neuts and reds come you should spot them the required amount of jumps for you to have the time to dock and call for HD or just stay docked.
I’d argue this was corp mindset lol tried to teach all pantheon pilots and many loss ships lol👏
Glad you're doing these combat analyses vids again! I also dig that you're so generous in spirit to enemy combatants - really mean that - I play same way and try to maintain the same attitude to our adversaries. Whole lot of upside to it imo. Thanks and keep going Skip! ✊️
TBH i had no clue u were in the Fleet. i would have said Hi!
also Howdy lol. im a fan and was on that KM :D
u make a lotta good points that are vital for ppl to consider. and i had a blast that night
Hey bud! Glad you were able to join in the fun :) I’m sure we’ll fly together again soon o7
I was there.. had a lot of fun.. good video ;)
Thank you sir! Had fun with it as well :)
Nice juicy kill! Great tactical breakdown. Appreciate the video!
Thank you!
I was there for that, it was a great roam. Our FCs are solid
Amen to that! We’ve got some good ones (just don’t tell them bc it’ll go to their heads lol)
Nice video!
ANY cap pilot that doesn't have 1-2 scouts 2+ jumps out and actually use them deserves to lose their ship.
You are on-point. Less damage receiving = longer lasting. Oracles are squishy as well as stealth bombers chilling in bombard mode.
Started rolling laughing at the title lmao!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, it did its job then! ;)
I really need to train into SHH doctrine fits. Finally hit T8 a month ago and just squaring Requisite skills for the fundamental PvP skills.
Heck yeah! For roams like these you don’t need to be in doctrine stuff, but it’s never a bad idea either. Looking forward to flying with you!
@@killmarkcollectors8440 I need to set my staging clones and ships. See you online
Gotta agree with you there, applies to not only capital users but every other ships as well. If using multiple ships. At least one needs to be anti tackle. Example My Bhaal in no way is gonna kill a tackler quickly. So it is always accompanied by my Typhoon 2 with rapids with large Nuet. Also you are right about just warping the fk outta there, any tackler confident enough to tackle you immediately means they have the backup arriving to take ur ships on and win.
Nice breakdown video! A scout would have been worth its weight in ISK
Amen… definitely would have been
@@killmarkcollectors8440 That player usually has a lot of logi and a nightmare for ratting. Im really surprised to see him without those...
I think that this happens just cus lots of carrier pilots got gready and want less ships in their fleet even worst some just like to sólo the rallies and not share anything thats why sometimes dont ask for help cus corp or alliance wont risk their ships for a gready one.
Yeah, it can definitely be hard to “give up” the isk, but I look at it as an investment both for yourself (bc now you have someone to help protect you) and in your corp mates, bc now they can share in the wealth and upgrade their own ships. A rising tide, right?
@@killmarkcollectors8440 many say "its a game" but forget that some put in Real money, but if you as a carrier pilot or any other pilot help your mates anyone will be willing to help you and back you up.
But really forget that what really count are numbers, they might get less isk bounty but more ships to have your back.
I was in an alliance & corp that would make you join rally fleets in a pod if you didn't own a cap. they refused to do BS fleets for rallys. really boring. i left lol
Thanks!
Best man!
o7 bud
I always run a PVP fit when I'm ratting in null. It has saved me several times...You can't DPS if you are dead.
Always always always fit for tank. The end.
Yerp…
Big fan of this video!
I bet ;)

Hello, just wonder if you would be able to make a video regarding rigs for capacitor recharge and amount.
And also would be nice to have your opinion on Armageddon ship. And i mean what would be your logic behind that it actually has small capacitor. Clearly should be a difference, if you run two Nosferatu, two neutralizers, or 1 of each (assuming other two slots filled with scrambl and veb). Is it better for Nosferatu to have terrible recharge but high cap, as you stealing in percentage to compare to enemy ship? Is it better to have massive recharge for neuts, or big capacity would be best? Just trying to understand how mathematically that would work against all four types of ships (frigs, cruisers, BC, BS) assuming 1 vs 1. Looks like against other BS armageddon is terrible?! and that neut range bonus only good against small ships?! Would be nice to hear some logical details about that neut/nos/cap thing. Thanks.
I’ve actually been thinking about capacitor warfare for awhile... If that’s something ppl want I’ll bump it up the list
Let me guess the answer is pay more money
not to be rude or anything ur not makeing more isk just cuse ur making a tick that is 51 insted of 71 mil ... the commendation it self is still the same.
You’re right when taken individually, but over the course of the rally if you have 2 ticks for 75m and get 50m extra each, instead of 3 ticks for 50m each and an extra 50m each, you end up with 250m vs 300m.
That's a terrible fit tbh. I don't use any dps mods on my carrier. Tank and fighter mwd go BRRR
Yeah, tank is definitely the way to go imo
@@killmarkcollectors8440 for sure. I'm able to last a good 10-15mins before my tank fully breaks, and that's plenty of time to get a response fleet.
