    Heres an interesting manny fact. He started pro at 16, the age required is 18. He had to lie. Also was underweight and had wear weights in his underwear to make weight for his first fight.

  • @breakaway2x
    @breakaway2x 5 лет назад +441

    Pacquiao boxing history's only 5 time lineal champion, 8 division champion with 10 world title. Pacquiao is also the first boxer in history to win major world titles in four of the original eight weight divisions of boxing, also known as the "glamour divisions": flyweight, featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight. He truly is the greatest pound 4 pound boxer in history bar none. It's a flyweight champion putting the beat down on welterweight champions at just 5'5. Imagine if he was a natural welterweight? He'd have climbed up to heavyweight and knocked everyone out on the way up. This is GREATNESS: doing what nobody expected you to do. Greatness is not doing what you were expected to do (like so many other fighters who stay comfortably in their own division to beat up people they already know they can beat). GREATNESS is reaching beyond your grasp and that's what Pacquiao did more than anyone in history of boxing. Just reaching for what is already within their grasp, that's not greatness!

    • @breakaway2x
      @breakaway2x 5 лет назад +34

      @@VinJ17 It's physics. You lose power as you go up in weight (or the effect of it due to the extra mass of your opponent). The fact that he came up from flyweight and was still knocking out and knocking down welterweights...even made a 165 pound Margarito stagger with a right counter hook, is remarkable. People don't understand the significance of what Pacquiao has done vs what someone like Floyd has done, it's not even close. Floyd has only done what he was expected to do. Pacquiao did what nobody expected him to do and far exceeded what anyone expected and nobody else in modern history has done it. The level of greatness behind Pacquiao's achievements far outweigh what floyd has done. Only people with a shallow depth of view will see the paper stats and think Floyd is great, but what has he risked? Why has he ducked so many fighters and why hasn't he gone up to fight bigger opponents? Pacquiao went up to fight bigger opponents his whole life and when he loses by itty bitty points on judges card to a guy who is self-proclaimed greatest of all time but sits in a division where he's comfortable and has all the advantages? That's not greatness. Just my opinion.
