The best canvas tent is the Springbar hand stitched, made in Utah USA. Durable, easy to set up and take down, and you can stand up in many of them. Its not uncommon to see a 25 year old Springbar Tent being used in a campground. Withstands 50 mph wind and driving rain.
I have been using a roof top tent but on my recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park I brought a friend. He used the Springbar and it gave him a place to sleep and organize his gear along with some privacy. After not using it for a while it was a pleasure to set it up and use it.

Awsome tent! I have a Soringbar Family Traveler 11’x10’ that I paid $3 for 30yrs ago. I didn’t want it at first but the salesman at the thrift store said I needed it & when he got down to $3 I took a chance not knowing anything about them. It was well used & Dad did some sewing on it where one of rods slid into. Also where I poked a hole in the roof thinking the poles went inside. Kirkham‘s gave me some canvas pieces to patch it with along with instructions on how to set it up. Eventually I bought new poles & tent bag but it’s the best tent I ever bought & my neighbor said he would give me $100 for it. I’m sure this tent is older than I am & made in the 50’s or 60’s.

Didn’t use it for a few years but I’m planning on carrying it in my off-road trailer. I sleep in the RTT but the Springbar can be a shelter out of the cold or rain where we can hang out and play cards if the weather sucks. Thanks!
