Don't worry. If this happens , you will not die. Find out new job. People around may not be happy with you. Because money gets you respect in Indian Society. But at same time, value system is there. If you are alive, you can do anything. Don't get in panicked.
If you are earning 1 lac per month you will have a good skill set , nothing to worry about

It's not due to AI or economy sir. They are just cutting costs to get that beautiful bonus. They will hire in cheaper places... we have seen with Devin, Amazon AI human workers how far they are really with AI. They want to drive down the salaries in IT... the biggest cost to them.

Python coding will be the most laid off skill. Good luck. Machine learning engineers, data scientists coming next. There is full scale automation going on. Github copilot and databricks assistant will replace 30% workforce in data engineering, science and analytics in 2024 and 2025.

The reason is simple. If these tools improve productivity by 30% then I don't need 30% staff.
youre right. All the devs that defend AI are just blind. They are feeding the machine, giving their only knowledge through repositories, so this machine once it learn enough data it could replace them massively.
Because these companies hired like crazy, by giving insane CTCs and even giving fancy bonuses. Now that clients are building their own GCCs and taking back the work in-house, and also due to the slowdown in economies, IT services are facing the music. I would say it is good for the IT professionals, they can now apply for the client companies themselves, rather than work indirectly through a service provider

What is "GCC" ?
The Indian IT Sector jobs have either moved to GICs or abroad.. so its not really a net reduction of 70K jobs and they being unemployed.
They're going to South East Asia like Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Apple is investing the Coding Software Engineering in Indonesia and Microsoft to Indonesia as well.
That'it Indian Colleagues, 20.years ago Eastern Europa stole the jobs from Western Europe. 5 years ago.India stole from Eastern Europe. Now it's your turn, BRICs are preparing to take over. All other businesses are struggling, as Engineering/IT had good salaries and spent on services, schooling, flats, cars.
Guys, First off, stop panicking and continue with your learnings. The layoffs have existed for a long time. Companies do that as part of corporate restructuring, cost cutting etc but none should matter to you if you the skills to excel wherever you go.

Sam Altman is going to reveal Q-Start project, which is AGI, or even ASI first. He and other AI aficionados like Gary, Jenson Huang etc have said that Job Loss is imminent. AGI is coming in a year or two, amazon is already working on AI assisted cloud solutions. Days of SDE-1 or SDE-2 are done. I am already learning prompt engineering and little bit of ML to make myself AI ready.

You cannot solely depend on IT anymore . One needs to be agile and look for alternate source of income. Mostly these should be non IT based work .

Nowadays most of the corporate companies are offering low salary like monthly 11000 rupees and in that Govetnment is robbing away 20% as Professional tax. What money will these people take home ? Corporate and Govetnment are looting their hard work
I had a coworker who was the bottom 20% of all engineers I have ever known. She did speak with a artificial cute voice and knew how to wear semi sexy clothes. She was hired into Google. There was another guy who as a group of friends in Microsoft, he said his programming was not good, and we knew it too. However, he is the type that would pluck his eyebrow. Anyways, he was also hired into Google, so I really don't know in what way does Google choose their people

You might see Microsoft hire this whole team. WIth Dart and Flutter I am betting that there we will see the Dart team form their own startup to maintain Dart and Flutter.
Good thing that i am in non IT field Taxation which cannot be fully be automated by AI. As its associated with money. And government doesn't change the methods for next decade or so.
😂😂😂 It's the first field to affect, since everything is ONLINE. AI will simply simplify the conditions of Taxation for user, which is just like filling the form 😂.

@@prabhakar0076 nope it does not. While making payment we need human interventions. That's you see captain or 2FA which I guess is hard to crack. We can atleast create a bot to file returns. To some extent but it will not be replaced by individuals job. Taxation is ocean you know only tip of the ice burg but too dept and complex

AI will simply make it dead easy for end-user aka tax filer using conditions and questions.

@@prabhakar0076 37 is the age after which most options are slowly running out. Most full time MBA programmes won't accept you, you probably have a young family because of which you don't want to shift from your current city and also when job vacancies will come there will be the least for 15 years or more experience.
@@LostSoul979 So working experience doesn't matter. But Middle age now is different from 20 yrs ago. People can open startup with experience but they don't want to take risk and it's not as easy as said. Moreover they r comfortable with present lifestyle.
My thought is that IT field itself is in crisis as DEDOLLARISATION is inevitable. So west has implemented AI. Even PAYSCALE cut is not survivable
Im 53 years , still working in IT. Not sure though how long I can l work in these situations, but I’m open what may come in future.
In Nielsen market research similar happened in 2008. I was a part of this " cheap labour" in India.
Similarly in TCS it happened for the European markets.

12,000 members are layed off. If Trm comes he might fix tech salaries at high level. Last time he asked companies to pay atleast 150k(1 crore above) to developers. As everyone is thinking taht he would come again this might be a safe plan for many companies. If Ind don’t start minimum wage and tech wage rules, the mis use will happen.

Indian IT service companies will collapse in near future because most of the profit for these companies come from mundane jobs that employees do for clients.

I feel the biggest losers of the AI wave are freshers who may not have a lot of skillsets which in today's world translates to skillsets which are replaceable by AI. It is definitely a tougher world to break into if you do not have specialized skills.

Fake news. The article shares says, they have outsourced their job to Munich and asked the employees to train the replacement. It does not says that they have used AI.

Just understand most of indian it sector jobs were of service and maintainance category, and ai is efficient to do this, most companies now will want guys who are very good in problem solving very good means actual very good the guys who are excelled in coding and mathematics are only required people because of their brain capacity and not because of skill, most of indian engineer are bad in problem solving and thats the problem salaries will again reduce with next 5 batches from indian engineering colleges are full of cs graduate with most of them taking ai ml as their specialization, so sorry for all the people but most of our job in danger due to ai but not of western economies
