    The laouto used here was constructed in 1985 by the renowned Turkish saz maker Ragip Akdeniz in Istanbul. It is my own design and it is indeed a cross between a Cretan laouto and a lavta

    As far as I know Locasti's Dream is Ross's own composition..All I can say is it is just a work of a genius mind..it is just out of this world..

    oh my - what transcendence! the 3 musicians complement each other effortlessly- this is pure class - thank you very much for sharing this... if only the nations on the planet could work in unison such as these we would achieve so much... :)

    Looks to me to be a Zarb, or a Tonbak. Essentially a Persian version of a Doumbek or Darbuka. I see you posted this 2 years ago; just thought I'd respond anyhow.

    Absolutely beautiful! I am becoming a big fan of yours. How is the instrument in this video tuned? I just ordered a lavta from Rapakousios and its tuned ADAD high to low. I am a trichordo player and am excited to start playing lavta. Yiasou Manga!
