Calvin, if you look closely at, Oliver has been using virtually the same patterns over the last 10 years! If you compare them with those of other modern advanced male dancers, they are rather simple. What makes him special is how he does them, that is his clean technique, his attitude, and of course his salsa music knowledge. It is what makes him one of the best (famous) X Body style dancers. Vali is of course great. Take also into account they have been dancing together for several years.

@valirenas how aggressive of a lead would you say Oliver is in this dance or even overall? I guess on a scale of 1-10. I'm always curious about how aggressive one actually has to be in order to signal their partner to pull off such flawless patterns
Calvin Eric i can tell you that on this video Oliver was pretry smooth and only in very few parts his lead would be more firm but he was nowhere in this video too strong or too forcefull :)

Hi, have you considered "FlamaDance" (google it)? There you will find a useful free video explaining how to dance Samba, FoxTrot, Cha Cha, Jive, Rhumba, Salsa, Tango or Waltz. This is the way Bunny learned to dance like a star very fast and so even restore romance. I hope it helps you too.

Clavin, I can tell you it's not choreographed. I've seen many videos of Oliver and many other male dancers whose ultimate goal is to be as faithful to the song as posible and this is the usual result. Of course, to get such impressive results the lady needs to be in the same tune too (in many parts of this video you'll see Oliver is not the only one carefully listening to the music...)
