There's a story I've been trying to write for years, an idea that won't let me go. This song seems like it fits the main character of that story. She's an 8-year-old girl who's something of a telepath. Her parents were deathly scared of their daughter because of her powers, and they outright abandoned her. Because they're lucky lottery winners, they leave their daughter with a couple million dollars stored in suitcases at the back of the house... some money to help her "ease by." She goes on to become something of a "superhero" in the form of the perfect detective, as she lives, day to day, battling her greatest enemy: lies and deceit, while searching for her family. For all her telepathic powers, nothing took the girl by surprise; but the night her parents disappeared, she never saw it coming.
