Kurt, where I live pot is legal. You can drive down the public streets and interstate and smell the stench of pot while driving. The U.S. has become a cesspool from what it used to be. I drove semi for 30 years, now you couldn't pay me to do it. Stay safe out there buddy.
Another think people don’t think about on snowy or icy roads is not to use cruise control because the transmission can shift automatically and cause a skid.
This year, I had to get new tires for my Jeep. I went from an all season tire pattern that did amazing in snow. Now, to a step down off an off-road tires. Here in Kimball, Nebraska. What snow😒😥😭
We had a dusting just before Thanksgiving. There was a wreck on the interstate. A speeding semi lost control and slammed into an occupied emergency vehicle. That person, who was out helping others, was seriously injured. A few days ago, we had a similar situation. The semi failed to move over and hit a state patrol car. I'm not saying it's entirely semi drivers. They are usually the good ones. They just do more catastrophic damage. I won't even drive interstate in good weather. Please stay safe, and God bless.
I like your thought on getting off the interstate. The people that don’t deserve what they get. You continue to be safe and if your late oh well at least you made it Havagudun and take care of you.
Good to see you, Kurt! Enjoyed this video, as well, sir. You are correct 👍 & I’ll go along with your opinions any day of the week. 45mph is not all that hard to maintain at times. Say hello 👋 to Opie & Jax & the rest of the family! Stay & drive safe, my friend.
Stay safe and be careful first snow brings out the idiots just about made it glad you had a safe trip so far glad you posted that is the farthest you been in a while back in Iowa I see well safe travels and it's cold here in Iowa now thanks for posting Kurt be waiting for next video
O-H-I-O Porters🇺🇸You mentioned that you were gonna slide your tandems, but you didn’t say what direction or show us. I tried to figure it out when you were stopped for a bit, but couldn’t quite make it out. You slid them forward, right? Thanks for the train action. I imagine if you’re sleeping & a train comes speeding through that it would really disturb your rest, especially if you’re not accustomed to train noises. We,got some snow today…Dec 11th, but it won’t amount to much. It’s gonna be cold though. Some people just get too anxious when they get into the highway & want to push people off. I think it’s a combination of too much speed & quick reactions that get them in trouble, but going too slow is almost as bad. It’s good that you pack food in your fridge & freezer. At least you know who touches your food that way. And it’s a bit cheaper as well. Be safe & get back home. Blessings my friend. 🥰🤩✌️
Kurt I also think that in today’s economy people do not have a lot of disposable income to spend $800 plus dollars on a new set of tires for their 10-year-old car and are just trying to put it off one more month. If you want to see something really scarry when you stop at a light look down at the tread of the car or pick up truck ahead of you. The number of bald tires I see in southwest VA is really unbelievable. Be safe out there.
Oh I keep some of those little pizzas in my fridge also, they fill the void. Matter of fact I'm having that tonight, and 💯 agree with you on the driving in snow I'm from the state your daughter goes to school at so used to it, but these new drivers and foreigners know nothing about the snow life
Lactose free whole milk taste great and lasts like two weeks in the fridge!! Get you some Neslies Quick chocolate milk mix and you’ll be set for whatever you’re craving chocolate milk
I took my family to the Grand Canyon and then on to California over the Summer, Trust Me Schmidty You will want to See your Battleships and then you will want to get back to Iowa in a hurry, Keep your eye on them 4 wheelers and be safe out there Schmidt.
Kurt, so true on the snow/winter drivers. The drivers of today cannot drive in inclimate conditions! They drive way too fast or way too slow. Most of today's truck drivers are young and new, no experience. I drove since I was 12 maybe 11 on the farm and know a little something at the young age of 58. These drivers don't know how to use a diff lock. That's not a woke word eather. 😊
Hello Kurt. Good for you, a real Shiny hiney.😂😅. Stay safe. Our winds have set in like their hurricane winds. These winds are what took our trees out before. Have a great day.👋🤚
my aunt used to have a train go right through her back yard. I used to enjoy watching it go by lol It shook things in the house. Aunt sis had to tape her pictures to the wall lol. I am dog sitting again lol
Yes Kurt you’d love a visit to the Golden State - just bring a big bank card. The Hornet in the Bay Area and the Midway in San Diego are both day visits worth making. As you drive between the 2 of them wave at us in Ventura off the 101.
I'm going to go get my paperwork, next you come out of the porta potty! Well played sir!! My dad taught us if your not sure you are on ice or is the road just wet look at the tire tread of the vehicle inf front if it is shiny it's just wet. If the road is slick put your outside wheels on the shoulder there is always grit over there till you can find a place to pull off. When driving an automatic trans and you have to do a turn say at an intersection put the trans in neutral and coast around
The same thing happens here with the first few snow storms in eastern Washington State. People drive like idiots, especially around Spokane, the nearest big city to me. We've had a lot of fog and people don't use headlights, have them on high beam or drive too fast
We had that dusting on the Sat after Thanksgiving. We drove from Topeka to KC and saw 4 people in the ditch. It is ridiculous! I halfway wonder if part of this is because people are running their tires until they are bald because nobody has any money with the economy so terrible... Whatever it is, it's going to be a rough winter.
I believe the " stats " say that it's not the speed that causes accidents it's the difference in speed that causes accidents ( 75 mph and 45 mph on the road ), That and people have no idea how to drive in snow ( Live in the snow belt in N.E Ohio )
Schmidt do also think that with those newer drivers they are not installing and suing CB radios for traffic and road conditions reports from drivers in front of them.
Kurt lot of it has to do with the cell phone I have seen it today 12/11/24 going across I -80 going to Des Moines. It was a dusting then and winds coming out of WNW 20 mph.
I’d like to know what’s going on with Casey’s Pork Tenderloins. You never see them in the warm rack anymore. And asking if they’d cook you one brings a host of excuses. So since I’m a WI guy, and Kwik Trips are a requirement, I’ve dumped Casey’s for Kwik Star (when I can) when I’m working Iowa.
Kurt, did you get the 2nd fire extinguisher for First Class? About the people driving in snow, some idiots think that since they have a 4 wheel or all wheel drive that they can drive in anything without changing their driving for the conditions. I've also seen people stomp on the brakes when they hit a patch of ice. I'm just glad I am not following to close when that happens.
Hey buddy, awesome channel…. I been driving bout 4 years and from PA, so I’m not a timid driver in winter in my personal vehicle. I recently switched to local liquid tanker and see myself straddling the line of cautious and apprehensive given the surge. I don’t want to be an impeding driver. Do you have any tips for slick condition driving? Thanks and be safe
The only thing bad about winter is the bridges and black ice, and his people got to drive slower why it would save on accidents on Tuesday? we saw a van and a pickup truck slammed into a telephone pole. The guy driving the pickup truck died, and the van was injured, and that was in normal Illinois
Sometimes y You have to wonder how experienced some semi drivers are these days. I’m sure the pandemic had a lot of drivers sidelined and maybe some didn’t come back, causing a vacuum that needed to be filled. I say this because i see a lot of semi drivers maneuver their trucks like they’re driving the family car. About a month ago I saw a semi in the left lane doing about 80. I thought he might be passing but he stayed in that lane and never slowed down. Whatever happened to that? I have more stories but I don’t want to bore you. I’m sure we all have some. Those boys and girls need to calm down a little. But it’s not all the semi drivers' fault. I’ve seen a lot of speedster cut a truck right off like they didn’t know sixty mile an hour tons of steel could crush them like a bug. I remember when semi drivers would flash their lights at you to let you know you had the room to cut into their lane safely. Do that these days and the driver of the car probably thinks you want to pick a fight with them. Those were different times. You stay safe out there, Kurt.
I caught some snow last night hauling auto parts from Anderson Indiana to Smyrna Tennessee about 30 miles from the Tennessee line on 65S in Kentucky, I watch for spray off of other Big Trucks to gauge road conditions, I won't lie though I slowed down on that down hill grade from White House Tennessee into Nashville, hopefully tonight the roads will be salted good!! Take care out here Kurt!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Another think people don’t think about on snowy or icy roads is not to use cruise control because the transmission can shift automatically and cause a skid.
Try Campbell's Chunky Ham and Bean soup. Outstanding!
Would hate being behind that trailer on a sunny day, with the sun behind me
Kurt, where I live pot is legal. You can drive down the public streets and interstate and smell the stench of pot while driving. The U.S. has become a cesspool from what it used to be. I drove semi for 30 years, now you couldn't pay me to do it. Stay safe out there buddy.
Your state roads my friend are better than the east coast interstates, take care and be safe all
Amen on that statement curt .they shouldnt be driving a truck anyway.
Another think people don’t think about on snowy or icy roads is not to use cruise control because the transmission can shift automatically and cause a skid.
I love snow and don't mind driving in it....but....it is the other person that keeps me off the road!!! and Ice....no ice for me! Stay safe out there!
Love the sound of your cat purring! Stay safe this winter.

retired otr driver, snowy roads and flashers. I called them traction lights. I agree with you.
I agree with all the winter driving conversation. Not just southerners though. The fed ex and amazon teams running I-80 is a whole story on its own.
I'm in NE Texas. 50's to upper 70's dry and people are still wrecking all over town. Just dumb ass drivers.
Good Afternoon from Anchorage Alaska. Nice Trucking videos
Kurt It is good that you became a trucker, you are too down to Earth to be an Astronaut!😊❤👍
I am in northern Michigan. Our weather has been brutal so far. A lot of snow & blow.
Stay safe out there.😊
Hi kurt. I hope you, the germans and family are staying healthy. Thanks for the great videos.❤
I agree 👍 your opinion 👍 waving 👋 from Lebo Kansas!!
I know the feeling. Took Highway 20 from Iowa to California and ran out of steam also.

Watching your videos is making me miss Trucking.
Lactose free whole milk taste great and lasts like two weeks in the fridge!! Get you some Neslies Quick chocolate milk mix and you’ll be set for whatever you’re craving chocolate milk
It's time to put Opie back on his place of honor
So much for for that clean first class.
I guess people forget how to drive in the stuff ..
Curt not log book its comic book.😂😂
I took my family to the Grand Canyon and then on to California over the Summer, Trust Me Schmidty You will want to See your Battleships and then you will want to get back to Iowa in a hurry, Keep your eye on them 4 wheelers and be safe out there Schmidt.
Might be your opinion Kurt but you're 110% correct and I completely agree with you

Mr Kurt hopefully Opie is enjoying retired life. Roll easy roll safe sir 🇺🇲
Paper log book due to the age of your KW no ELD required ???? I didn't realize that until now 👍
I always stay as far as I can be away from a moving train. If it derails, you can get really messed up.

Yes, the non drivers are more dangerous than the ice and snow on the roads .safe travels driver 🇺🇸
Drive safe out there and see you next time
Consider visiting the USS ALABAMA, there's a sub. and a lot of great aircraft.
Kurt i used to to Illinois from Minnesota i went 35 s to 20 to 380 to 80

That’s funny I deliver Red Baron pizza’s and a few other things to Walmarts, Krogers, Meijers, and Targets in Kentucky
Wait a minute…. Did you strap down those pallets of cans?
😮 Safe travels this season.

People just drive to damn fast in the snow and rain and just lose it. Common sense works wonders
If there is a storm I can wait a couple of hours so the highway crews can do their work especially if I am going northbound
Schmidt do also think that with those newer drivers they are not installing and suing CB radios for traffic and road conditions reports from drivers in front of them.

Shiny the hiny 😂😂😂😂
some people just don't know how to drive in the snow. I learned how to drive in winter when I was 12 lol

Hey 👋 Kurt 👍❤️✌️💪🏻☮️
Brand New Van Trailer and the hinges won't open Wow give me the old Frehuaf /Wabash 48Ft van Trailer
🍭SWEET🍭Stay safe out there & God Bless🙏🏼💖👍🏻🇺🇸🌞🌲☃
I love the trucking videos in the winter with the snow it makes it exciting but when is this going back to being a dog channel? 😆

No Loads Bars to hold the freight from shifting? You must have perfectly smooth roads up North. 😉

👍🫵💙🎉
You would think Casey would sponcer you, since you stop there so often.
It's always the idiots in the 4x4 pickups and SUVs that end up spinning out and ending up in the ditch or playing bumper cars.
Wow. No load locks ?
That’s exactly why I retired! Stupid stupidity dumb ass new comers…done 38yrs trucking 5ml. Mi just done.
talk about dorkizm thats it by buttoning your top button
What’s up with the ifta sticker on your visor?
Hopefully you don’t have to drive during the ice storm
🇺🇸🦅🗽🇺🇸
t why do you wear your shirts all closed up around your neck ? Then later the button was un done.
I’ve said that mint joke before but now I find it in bad taste
43000 1/2 mt
Why do we want to see the portrait of your half face in your videos? Will this be a reoccurring scary thing sir?
